Traning An Obedience Dog To Do Agility
Tiggy replied to 4 Paws's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Good advice 'mntgood' . -
Orbee dog toys are the best! My dogs love them. The ball on the rope is a favourite and they sell a tennis ball made from the same stuff.
-
Air Dogs sell them to. :p http://www.airdogs.com.au/agility/product....=249&page=2

Supplements can be a waste of money. I feed my dogs a prey model diet with no supplements except for fish oil.
-
Sorry for your loss. Best wishes for Detroit.
-
I also have to get my dogs vaccinated for dog training but I plan it so it's done about half way through the year so you can leave it a year and half. I just get the C3.

Midland Dog Training is at Jack Mann Oval. It's off Great Northern Hwy. I can't remember exactly how much membership is but it was only about $30. It's not on over the school holidays so it's almost finished for the year. Here's their contact details. MIDLAND DOG TRAINING CLUB Club Type: Obedience & Agility Training Mrs A Orme, 3 Northmoor Road, EDEN HILL 6054 Phone: 9279 1613 Or Training Phone: 9572 2907

Midland Dog Training is good. Obedience is Tuesdays and Agility Thursdays.

I've changed from a BARF diet to a Prey-Model diet and the dogs are looking great and farting less . I also only feed fish oil and eggs as extras that's it.
-
I was also told to teach a 'fold back' drop from a stand for trialling.
-
Training will give you control of the dog. A halter is just a tool. I personally don't like halters. I use a flat or martingale collar.
-
Cool! Training doesn't start until April so we have to wait .

I'm interested in giving tracking a go with my Stafford Banjo. The TrackWest club sounds good and I think it's at Gnangara Pines which isn't far from me. I've been looking at tracking photos and haven't seen one Stafford. Will the German Shepherds laugh at him .

What is her collar made of? Could it be irratating her neck. I love these collars for my Staffords. http://www.earthdog.com/hemp-products

Depending on your pup you might want to feed three meals a day until he's six months old then two from then on. I like to feed bones in the morning because I feed my dogs about sevenish which is too late at night to be sitting outside chewing a bone but some people like to feed them in the afternoon/evening so they can supervise after work. It's up to you. The only supplement I use is fish oil. I've been feeding my dogs a raw diet(no vegies) this year and they look great.

I don't have the time and to be honest can't be bothered making my own when I can buy a BARF mix made locally which is only $6.25kg. The Dr B's BARF Patties are more expensive but I would like to get my dogs the Rabbit flavour. I feed the BARF mix, meat, offal and raw meaty bones. The dogs have never looked better.

I got some food from the Pet Chef yesterday. I also bought a couple of the Camel 'special diets' from Better Pets and Gardens for something different.
-
Thanks outatime .
-
Is it all raw? Can you go in or is it just delivery?
-
Do you know the opening hours of A & D Pet Meats? Nice and close to me.

What exactly does the Pet Chef sell? I've always wondered. I drive past their shop all the time.

Drowning Instead Of Swimming
Tiggy replied to BrunoBella's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I cracked up at this post as Buster my Lab X Rotty does the same thing but miraculously if he sees a Swan he can swim perfectly well. -
The only difference between Sentinel Spectrum and Interceptor Spectrum is the Interceptor doesn't treat fleas but my dogs have never had a flea problem so I use the Interceptor. I get mine from Priceless Pets to :nahnah: . http://www.pricelesspets.com.au/

I've started my dogs on Orijen and they're loving it. It has a much stronger smell than the Eagle Pack and it's more moist.
