Most clubs cater for 'pet' owners who usually do a beginners course and that's it. If you hang in there the classes will get smaller and smaller :D . I'm not even training at my club anymore until I'm ready to trial so I can go straight into their trial class because the lower classes can be really frustrating ;) .

It's better to use soft treats like sausage and cheese so you can treat the dog quickly without it having to chew. Remember Tilly is your dog so if you don't agree with something don't do it. If you don't want to use a halter then don't. You might be better off getting a private Instructor to help you with the pulling problem.

I think the Belmont one will be my closest. I'll ring them if Better Pets and Gardens don't have them.

I've just ordered the DVD Training The Whistle Recall so I can use the whistle for RRR on our walks and keep 'come' for obedience.

I've been told for my Stafford boy to get a 36" crate. He'd probably fit in the 30" but being a big boy it might be too small. Someone else mentioned they need to design a new size for the bully dogs which is wider but not taller.

I might save my 'come' just for formal training to and use 'here' for everyday.

I thought in competition obedience you had to use english?

I'm reading Sheila Booth's book 'Purely Positive Training' and she says to have two sets of words for formal(competition) and informal training. So how many people use different words and for which commands? For example on our walks I use 'here' to come back closer but not to come to me then I use 'come' to come to me and I've been giving a food reward whenever I use 'come'. On 'come' Banjo will sit in front like a formal recall so I'm wondering do I need another word for his formal recall. It's very confusing.

Buster my Lab X Rotty had rear dew claws removed when when he was desexed to. I didn't notice them until the Vet pointed them out either .
