  1. Has anyone tried the mango dumbbell or somthing similar? Banjo is a bit if a biter and the wood is so soft. I accidently left his last dumbbell out and it ended up as sawdust :D . http://www.obedienceproducts.com/about.html
  2. Practice obedience trial . http://www.midlanddogtraining.com/
  3. We still have alot of fine tuning to do to .
  4. Thanks There's a trial at my club in Feb that I would love to enter but I don't know if we'll be ready by then... fingers crossed Go on do it . I've entered my first trial in February to.
  5. Some of us (and our dogs) find regular obedience fun, too! If Rally-O makes it to Perth I might come along for a looksee! I was going to say the same thing about obedience .
  6. That's what I call distraction training .
  7. I've entered Banjo in our first CCD trial which is in February. I feel like there's still so much fine tuning to do but I've been saying that all this year so I thought bugger it I'm entering. I think you should go for it .
  8. Wow great work . I got to see Brooklyn in person at the Sue Hogben seminar and I was in awe .
  9. I rang the Vet when this happened to Banjo and he said to give him an antihistamine. Just keep a close eye on her. Edited - I didn't read the bit about the swollen tounge. I'd take her to the Vet to be safe. The swollen tounge might block her airway.
  10. Poor Jedi with his bucket and sneakers . Is that because of his allergies? Great photos .
  11. Hey RubyStar I watched your novice training video, good work . It's good to see a lean Labrador to .
  12. She sure is We just need to rearrange her social calendar to allow her to do a bit more training Oh and help her finish rennovating Once she gets over the SFE hurdle she will get some nice scores on the board Whaddya mean my social calendar? Dog stuff IS my social life!! I will and do drop practically anything to train, I don't know if that makes me dedicated or just plain sad!! Was that an offer to help come and paint my bathroom and sleepout and tile the laundry?? (on a side note, the electricians quote this morning came in reasonable so I've gone ahead and booked him in - so moving should be happening in January, woohoo!!) Ruby can throw some brilliant work out when she wants to, so I have no doubt that once us as a team pull it together, especially with the SFE, we will be able to pull off some nice scores. It might be a few years off yet as we both get more ring experience, but I know we can do it!!! I have no social life either, unless it has something to do with dogs . Haven't had a chance to do any training the last couple of days because Banjo's been sick . To top it off I just got a flat tyre when I went to Better Pets and Gardens.
  13. Thanks! I was in two minds about putting that video up, because of the embarrassing oopsies moment that is in true Labrador style But that aside, she gave me some nice heelwork If only she could pull off the same amount of focus in a trial that she does in training. She was rather distracted last night. Was still a pass in the heelwork, but certainly not at a standard I can say I would be proud of and strive for. But again, the SFE is the failing point. At least we got round the figure 8 poles without incident She actually gave me some good focus around the figure 8! Ummm, I may not be the best person to send Kenzie to, I would end up ruining her Ruby is very unlucky to have me as her trainer and handler! In the right hands, I just know she'd kick some butt! Don't sell yourself short RubyStar. It looks like you are doing a great job with Ruby.
  14. There's always next trial Ptolomy and RubyStar .
  15. He's handsome . Come join us in the Stafford breed thread .
