  1. My dogs all stayed inside all day in our lovely airconditioned family room (going out to their dog yard a couple of times for a few minutes to toilet).....They all got their walk at 8.30 pm, just as the sun was going down. Would never walk them during the day on a hot day...too hot for them, & too hot for us.
  2. Hope he picks up soon Sheridan....poor old boy
  3. Awww she is gorgeous I hope she is chipped & is reunited with her family tomorrow.
  4. I saw your post in OT about the pressie your daughter gave you Gayle & it made me tear up. What a thoughtful & caring daughter you must have to give you such a special gift. Benson looked like such a handsome boy & now you have a beautiful sketch of him.
  5. Hi everyone I hope you all had a lovely Christmas yesterday. I really got spoilt this year & got some lovely presents. The presents I received that are dog related are... A 2012 Australian terrier wall Calendar A Coffee Mug that says Aussie Terrier Mum & a pic of my Bailey on it from my hubby which I just love. Some dog magazines. My Aussies where also very very spoilt & got heaps of new toys & food treats. So I was just wondering if anyone else received any presents that are doggy related?
  6. I got a ph call once from a BYB who had been on my website & had liked the look of my Bailey...He wanted to use him to mate with his JRT bitch, as he had a Aussie Terrier x JRT as a child & wanted a new puppy just like that one... I then told him I don't support BYBing & that as a registered breeder it is unethincal for me to cross breed one of my pedigree dogs with another breed. I also told him that there is enough cross breed dogs in the pound that don't have homes & will likely be PTS, & if he doesn't have homes lined up for the rest of the litter he would only be contributing to this. I was then going to give him a lecture on the cost of whelping & raising puppies, & also the possibility of what could go wrong, but he then cut me off & said "I know what I'm bloody doing", "I've already bred 5 litters from my bitch" ....& then he called me a F***ing snob & hung up on me.
  7. After you sign into the Dol member section, on the right hand side of the page you will see puppy notices under the Navigation heading, click on this & then you will see add notice...click on this & you should be able to place your litter notice.
  8. I also think The Age newspaper came in really handy too,as it has larger pages & was easier & quicker to use for lining the whelping box with.
  9. I asked friends & family to save their newspapers, & also asked at the local newsagency & supermarkets for their left overs. I use them to line the whelping box & then the Vet bed goes on top. I went through heaps of them when the puppies where older & they where pooing & weeing in their puppy pen....its amazing how young puppies just seem to know to go on the newspaper & not in their sleeping area. I felt as if my whole life revolved around cleaning away soiled papers & replacing with clean ones though.
  10. This is me Me too, I miss my dogs so much when I go out, that when I come home, I'm just as excited to see them as they are to see me....I just love the welcome they give me when I arrive home, & wouldn't change it for the world. But I agree if this isn't suitable to you then ignoring them would probably be the best way of handling it.
  11. So sorry to hear about your mums dog Kitkatswing.
  12. Awww that's just so lovely...I have tears in my eyes.
  13. This is exactly what my sister done when she found a gorgeous black cat in her back yard. She knocked on all the neighbours doors first asking if they had lost a black cat or knew of anyone that had. & when she couldn't find an owner anywhere in her neighbourhood she brought her to the pound & told them that if no one claimed her she would adopt her so she wouldn't be PTS....So when the time was up (I think it may have been 2 weeks )for her owner to claim her, my sister got a call from the pound that the cat was hers if she still wanted her...Zelda is now a much loved member of their family, but atleast my sister did the right thing by taking her to the pound to give her owner the chance to find her if she actually did have an owner that cared for her & was looking for her.
  14. RIP beautiful Nelson Hugs to you redial You have done the best thing for you & Nelson.
  15. Thinking of you today redial I'm sure it's not going to be easy ....but I believe your doing the right thing.
  16. Merry Christmas from Terraozzi Australian Terriers. Jasper & Brandy wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas. Bailey also wishes everyone a Merry Christmas.
  17. Puppies are so adorable that I'm sure alot of people find it so irrisistable not to want to give them a pat....& it's probably good for your puppy to interact with strangers too I do understand though that if your doing a training session with him, you may not want anyone distracting him....Is it possible to find a quiet area with hardly any people around for his training sessions?
  18. I'm the same, I went online shopping & may have went a little overboard I have a box full of toys & food treats & like yourself I have to sort it into 4 piles for my 4 dogs. I don't have any kids, so it gives me a bit of excitement on Christmas morning to see the dogs enjoying their new toys & treats. I've even got my Cockatiel a new mirror & a honey seed stick treat, & the horses will be getting some Carrots on Christmas morning too.
  19. About 90% of my puppy enquirees are from people looking for a Blue & Tan puppy...so I would say Blue & Tan are more popular atm, although I think the Sandy/red Aussies are just gorgeous too.

  21. If you've requested it through Sherel, then give her another buzz, as sometimes her's go astray Yep I agree I would definately be letting Sherel know....It took 3 attempts before I received mine, the first 2 samples she sent me got lost in the mail.
  22. Hi Sherel I was just popping back into the thread to update that her coat is getting back to it's lovely glossy stage - must have just been a transitional thing! Her ears are much less 'gunky' and she's not running as 'hot' as she had on previous brands. She's still on the lean-side which I suspect will always be the case but she is holding her weight nicely I'm also over the moon that we appear to need to feed much less of it than other brands we've tried thus far so that can only be a good thing for the wallet! I'm nearly at the end of the first bag (I purchased the Puppy due to the fat content so will probably look at putting her on the Adult) which we purchased from Sunshine - was hoping that I might be able to source some from you locally if that's at all convenient? Pheebs, Cross roads trading rural supplies store in Ballan has 20kg bags of it for $85.00....might be a little closer for you than getting it from Sunshine.
  23. So sorry to hear this Sway..my condolances to you & Willows owners RIP Willow
  24. I would say an Australian terrier ticks all your boxes.
