Sounds like Kirah is already a good little hunter R-A. Your post reminds me of the time when we first moved here. We had a beautiful Rosella accidently fly into the house via a chimmney that Bailey immediantly pounced on & Killed. He then tried to eat it & then ran away from me when I tried to take it off him. I finally got it off him in the end, but you should have seen the amount of feathers all over the house. I actually had a little cry for the beautiful bird while vacumning up all the feathers. I got my OH to put some mesh over the chimmney so it won't happen again. -

I agree persephone that they are good little dogs, & I appreciate all the hard work they do with helping with the mouse problem in the house (better than laying mouse traps everywhere ) but I just found it a little sickening seeing a half eaten one in the middle of the room so early in the morining before breakfast. -

Yep I've been looking out for one of them to spew it back up....so far so good. -
Hi everyone, I woke up this morning, walked into my family room, & there in the middle of the room on the rug was a half eaten mouse The head had been eaten off & only the back legs & tail where left. Lucky my hubby was home to dispose of it. We have had quite a few mice in the house in the last month of so & my Aussies have been doing a fantastic job at hunting them & killing them for us, but this is the first time I've ever seen one eaten, they usually just kill it quick & leave the body. Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! Don't you just love terriers, you would think I never fed them & they where starving.

I've had my dogs on Black hawk for roughly 6 months, & I am more than happy with the results. My dogs have lovely shiny coats, energy levels are great, poos are small & firm, & no gas at all ( which was a real problem with the Advance they where previously on ) I haven't noticed them drinking any more water either. :) I strongly believe the best dry food is the one your dog does best on, & Black Hawk seems to be the best dry food for my dogs after trying many other brands with them, & I will definately be sticking with it. I don't work for Black Hawk, I'm just a very happy customer. :D

My dogs will all stand in the kitchen with me while I am preparing their meals....They will then go to their individual eating area where I will then tell them to sit & then they get their dinner. They will then wolf down their meals & then check each other dogs bowl to see if anyone has left anything....which never ever happens.

Another vote here for Black Hawk Holistic....I have had my dogs on it for nearly 5 months now & they are absolutely thriving on it. There coats are lovely & shiny, energy levels great, & there poo is small & firm, & they have no wind ( which was a real problem with the Advance food I had them on previously )Best of all the dogs totally love it. We will definatley be sticking with this food. :) I recommend you get some samples of different premium foods & seeing which one your dog does best on. :)

Flying A Lab From Brisbane To Melbourne
Baileys mum replied to Lisey's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yep I also recommend you contact Wayrod....he organised a flight for one of my puppies from Melb to Cairns last year. Great person to deal with, very professional & a really nice guy to talk to. Oh & as far as I know the puppy didn't go crazy in the head. ;) -
Welcome to Dol Pippa

I don't understand either R-A I can't speak for other Terrier breeds, but my Aussies are so easy to live with, have all been easy to train & do have an off switch. As I said in my other post, my dogs aren't overly yappy, but will bark to announce visitors. I have placed quite a few of my pups with novice dog owners with no problems, & I stand by what I said before & believe they make perfect family dogs. I wouldn't recommend my breed if I didn't believe this.

That would have to be the weakest argument I have ever seen for perpetuating the racing industry, and given that all of the arguments are fairly weak that's saying something! And for those saying what would happen to all the racing animals if the industry were banned now? The same thing that happens already - most die - the only difference is that the cycle would stop. Keeping it going out of some illusion that animals are being 'saved' is ridiculous, it's the same argument they tried to use to justify jumps racing, it 'saves' horses from being dogged, when in reality it just delays the inevitable. Take the industry out and make the sport a hobby with the welfare of the animals a priority, that is the only way forward. The fact that there are worse atrocities committed against animals in no way negates the awfulness of a dog being put down because the owner couldn't be arsed finding a home for it, I have no idea why anyone would think that argument could possibly mollify the people who object to the obscene wastage of the racing industries. Great Post WnH

What about an Australian Terrier? Great family dog, happy, lively, affectionate & have personality plus!! They are not really yappy, but do bark to announce visitors & strangers. Great size, robust, hardy & and they have a low shedding, easy to maintain coat. :)

Heartworm Prevention Help
Baileys mum replied to RiverStar-Aura's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Great post nowstarin....very informative I myself have been using Advocate on my dogs for years now,& I have never had a problem with it.I love the no fuss of one treatment that covers nearlly everything, without having to buy separate products. We don't have issues with ticks here, so I don't need to give Advantix too. I also send 2 doses of it home with my new puppy owners in their puppy packs, & most of my owners have continued to use it & are very happy with it :) R-A I have read alot of negative feedback about the heart worm injection, & would never give it to my dogs. ETA: I treat my dogs with the Advocate every 4 weeks (not calendar month ) if I treat them on a Monday, I will count 4 weeks from then & treat them on a Monday again. :) -
Will they? I hope not - surely it has to be done in writing? I don't know about Dogs QLD, but I know with Dogs Vic I had to put it in writing when I moved house & needed to give them my new adress. Also with one of my dogs I didn't receive her pedigree papers back in the mail after I sent them in to get transferred to my name. So in order to get a replacement copy sent to me I had to do a stat dec to state that I'm the owner of said dog & I didn't receive my original pedigree papers back in the mail, & would like to request a duplicate copy. So Dogs vic seem to quite strict with this sort of stuff, I'm sure Dogs Qld would probably be too.

"happy 4th Birthday " To My Gorgeous Brandy :)
Baileys mum replied to Baileys mum's topic in General Dog Discussion
Brandy thanks you all for the lovely birthday wishes. :) She had a lovely day yesterday,.. got 3 new toys, a walk to the bottom of our property for a swim in our dam with the other dogs....she then shared a cooked roast chicken with them (bones removed of course ) Then a birthday cake with 4 candles. :D -
Maybe you could get in contact with your CC & let them know about the errors on the pedigree papers. Your breeder could be away on holidays, which could be why there not answering your calls/emails. :)

Just want to wish my gorgeous girl Brandy a very Happy 4th Birthday today!! I can't believe how fast the time has gone, it only feels like yesterday that she was a cute little puppy, but she has grown into a beautiful, smart, very obediant girl, who has become a much loved member of our family...we love her to bits. Brandy as a puppy. :) Brandy now. :)

Do You Refer To Yourself As Your Dog's Mum/dad?
Baileys mum replied to RubyStar's topic in General Dog Discussion
Well as my user name states I am Baileys Mum (Aswell as Jasper, Jessie & Brandy's mum too ) So yes I do see myself as my dogs mum & my Hubby is there dad. :) The dogs know us as mummy & daddy....When my hubby gets home in the afternoon I will say "Daddy's home "!! & they all run to the front door & get so excited. Might have something to do about us having no human kids, but I love referring to myself as their mum. My mum thinks I'm mad, & trys to make fun of me by saying that I am not Jaspers mum, but his Granny as he is the puppy we kept from our first litter,... & if Bailey & Brandy are my kids, then Jasper should be my Grandchild. I then say to her that Jasper must be her Great Grandchild then. :D  -
I always say sorry to my dogs if I accidently hurt them in anyway, I'm pretty sure that don't understand what i mean, but I feel bad for hurting them, so if I say sorry to them, I don't feel as guilty. They always seem to love the extra attention & cuddle I give them when I'm saying sorry to them though. :)

Experiment: Do Australian Dogs Recognize A Coyote?
Baileys mum replied to sandgrubber's topic in General Dog Discussion
Bailey was sitting beside me, so he had his head close to the computer....he tilted his head to the side, then barked a little, & then howled a little aswell. :) Jasper was sleeping, but the sounds woke him up & he also tilted his head to the side, barked a little & then ran around the house looking for the strange animal. Brandy was sleeping, lifted her head for 2 seconds & then went back to sleep & my old girl Jessie who is completely deaf, so couldn't hear it at all, decided to bark & run around anyway because she could see Jasper doing it.
