Not sure about the laws in QLD, but I know here in Vic, that you can't even advertise pups for sale without providing a microchip number, & registered breeders can't even register the litter until the litter is microchipped.
-
True. I recieved Takoda's paperwork in the post 6-8 weeks after she came home. This is true, as alot of breeders like to wait till the litter is a little older to choose the puppy they are going to keep before registering the whole litter. Also if the breeder is in Vic, she can't register the litter until the puppies are microchipped, which is usually done at 7-8 weeks of age. I hope you have a contract or a receipt & can get this sorted soon.

Mine get excercised & then get fed about 30 minutes later...After that they usually get sleepy, & I usually have a couple of them crawl into my lap for cuddles & then they go to sleep while I'm watching tv. :)

I second that. The dogs travel well usually. Also remember we have hundreds of dogs that are flying around the world on a daily basis. I always suggest that the dog is well prepared for the travel by introducing crate training. Another vote for Wayrod, very professional service, & a lovely bloke to deal with too. :)

the salesman (NOT DOG NUTRITION expert) has you buying what he wants you to . ...and the bit I've made bold is untrue .. our dogs eat whatever's in the bowl.. sometimes meat, sometimes whole rabbits, sometimes kibble .... they don't eat- they get hungry. So, they eat. A healthy hungry dog will eat pretty well anything :) I agree Persephone, that what the salesmen said is untrue IMO.... I've never heard anything so ridiculous,my dogs are on a 50/50 raw & Black Hawk kibble diet...they all love it & thrive on this diet, & they have never turned there noses up to the kibble just because they eat raw too. Feeding dogs isn't rocket science, I don't know why the OP is making it seem so complicated, & why change the dogs whole diet, just because it spewed up once?? Find a diet that agrees with your dog,(theres been a few suggestions from Whippet people in this thread )& stick to it.

My dogs miss my OH when he goes to work, & will sit at the front door every afternoon about 30 minutes before his usual time getting home & wait for him,..... & the welcome they give him is wonderful. :) I'm home with them most of the time, but when I do leave them from time to time, I get a lovely welcome home too. Last year one of the puppies from my 1st litter stayed with me for 3 weeks while his owners went overseas on holidays. He settled in well with us, had lots of fun running around our property & playing with his mum & his brother Jasper, he would get cuddles on my lap at night time, was eating well & he just seemed very happy & content staying with his. :) We took photos of him looking happy & content & I posted them on his owners fb wall to reassure them that he was doing ok & was having a good time....he's owners then got worried that he was looking too happy & that he wasn't missing them at all  Well they didn't need to worry, because when they came to pick him up, the reunion was so beautiful....he was so excited, his little bum was wiggling & tail was wagging so fast,he couldn't stop kissing them & looked so relieved to see them again. So while he settled in well in our household & appeared to be happy & seemed to enjoy himself, he did miss his owners too, & was so happy to be reunited again. That's what I love about dogs, they are so loyal, & they really do love us so unconditionally, & of course they miss us when their seperated from us. :)

Great Dane X, Life Expectancy
Baileys mum replied to Flow Won Smai's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yes ,I also find the avatar disturbing. I also find it disturbing & don't feel it is very appropriate for a family forum like Dol. ETA: thanks for removing it, the new avatar is much better for this forum. :) -
Same with my girl, she had 9 too with her last litter....8 with her 1st all standing up. :)
-
Same here R-A :)

I've used them with all my puppies, & they have loved them :) I get mine from ozpetshop too, & agree with the fantastic service.

Would You Sell A Pup To A Fifo Worker?
Baileys mum replied to Cheyd's topic in General Dog Discussion
That's the way I would feel about the situation too,I really don't think its fair on a puppy to be raised in this way....I wouldn't sell her a pup, & it isn't fair on the breeder if she's not honest with them. -
I have 4 dogs, so if I was boarding all of them, I would only want them mixing with each other & not strange dogs.
-
I'm sure a few of you have probably already seen this, but I saw this pic on facebook & just had to share it here...I think it's adorable. :)

Favourite breeds : I love the Terrier group espcially the Aussie terrier, Cairn terrier,Norwich terrier & westie. I also love Lappies, miniture Poodle, Aussie Shepherd, Border Collie. Least favourite : I love all dogs in general & couldn't think of a breed that I don't like, there's probably lots of breeds I woudn't own due to probably not fitting in with my life style, but I love all Purebred dogs, & even a few mutts too. :D
-
I agree with what some other posters have said & would recommend a Rottweiler. They are such big gentle sooks, but can be quite intimidating to look at for others that don't know the breed. :)

It took a little longer for me as my 1st lot of names was rejected, so I had to submit a new lot of names, however the 2nd name of the 2nd lot of names was approved to my relief. All up it took about 6 weeks. It also took about 4 weeks to get my prefix exam results back which was also very suspensful.
-
I would be worried about this too, as my Aussie terriers like to attack anything that moves on the floor. I suppose I could always put them outside for a while though, while its doing its job. I'm very interested in getting one of these too....my Dyson Vacumn cleaner does a fantastic job,but it would be nice to have one of these for the inbetween days that I don't vacumn. :)

My OH & I are unable to have children, so I will admit that my gorgeous dogs do fill that void. They are our family & we love them with all our heart,& couldn't see life without them.... but we know their dogs & not human children & they get treated as such. We really try to give them everything that meets a dogs needs, vet treatment when needed, premium food, excercise & training, & lots of games, toys, & most of all lots & lots of love, & they are extreamly happy well balanced little dogs. :)

Awww aren't they cute with their bunny ears :D I hope you Kirah & Zeus have a very "Happy Easter too R-A.

Where's the like button when I need it?..... Great post espinay2 I hope the OP takes in all the great advice you have given her. :)
-
This is such a sad thread, & I really do sympathise with the OP. But please don't take it out on all vets because of one bad experience. There are good & bad vets, just like there are good & bad GP's. I'm sure you wouldn't deny yourself medical treatment if you needed it, please don't deny you dog treatment if he needs it. It seems like you are still deeply grieving, I agree with some of the other posters that it might be helpful for you to see a grief counseller. Please take care. :)
-
I can understand your frustration, but unfortunately she has the pup now. It might be a good idea for her to take him to the vet asap for a check up. Is she in Vic?....Hope she doesn't have trouble registering with her local council, if he looks like a mixed bull breed.

I feel the same way too Pollywaffle....I'm not a big poster, but I do lurk alot, will post a comment every now & then, & also start a thread every now & then too. I wont generally post in a controversial thread or participate in heated arguments either....just not worth it. But its lovely to feel part of a community that has people with the same love of dogs as I do (we may not all see eye to eye, but atleast we all have that in common ). I have learnt so much in the 4 years I've been a member,& I find the good always outweighs the bad. I love how everyone comes together when someone needs support....The recent thread in OT about another Dolers baby step grand daughter comes especially to mind. I also find even when I'm away from the computer I will often think about threads & worry when a particular dog is sick or when someone is having a problem ect.... Dol really is a wonderful community, & I thank Troy so much for all his hard work & keeping this forum going.

My Aussies love water too....We take them down to the bottom of our property a couple of times a week to our very huge Dam, & they all love jumping in for a swim. They also love having a bath & try & jump into the shower with us too.
