So Angry, Just Got A Call From A Byb
Baileys mum replied to Baileys mum's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yep mita, it didn't matter what I said to him, there was just no changing this blokes mind..I only hope he has trouble finding a stud dog, but I'm sure unfortunately there is probably an unethical breeder out there looking for some extra cash that will give him what he wants. Just be grateful that there are very few Aussie breeders (especially in Vic) and the ones that I know would probably hang and quarter this guy before they would let him use their stud dogs. I agree Austerra..I could count the amount of registered Aussie breeders in Vic on one hand & I'm pretty sure all of them would give them the same answer as me...but this bloke said if he can't find an Aussie terrier stud , then he will look for a JRT stud dog instead. -

Gee woofen, did the owner of the bitch even know what plans these people had? I would be ropeable if I trusted someone to look after my bitch & they decided to breed from her behind my back. -

Awww thanks Dogperson I wouldn't say I'm professional, but I have learnt alot from being on Dol & have learnt alot of tips of what to say in a situation like this & also in how to educate someone to think twice about BYB'ing...not that it done much good on this occasion. -
So Angry, Just Got A Call From A Byb

Funny he didn't mention his main motivation - he thinks there's a buck in it for him! I tried telling him that if he thought it was a good way to make money then he would be disappointed as breeding is very exspensive & if anything he could actually be out of money..but he said that money had nothing to do with it & his only motivation was to let his bitch experience the joy of motherhood & for him to keep a beautiful puppy from her. As if I believe that though. -

Hi everyone, just need to vent...Just got a ph call from some bloke that wants to use one of my Purebred Australian terrier stud dogs for breeding to their Aussie terrier x JRT When I explained to them that I'm a registered breeder & do not condone & support BYB or x-breeding he pretty much accused me of being unreasonable & then had the cheek to ask if I knew of any other breeders that would be happy to help him. I then said that I didn't know of any reputable purebred Aussie breeder that would help him & then I asked him why he wants to breed his bitch anyway...He then said that he thinks it would be a nice thing for his girl to become a mother because she is such a lovely girl & that he wants pretty puppy from her & wants others to have the joy of owning a puppy from her. I then said that his bitch doesn't care about becoming a mother & that he could always go to a purebred breeder a buy a purebred Aussie or JRT puppy if he wants a new puppy as it would be much cheaper & less hassle..but he said he just wants a puppy from his beautiful girl. I then tried to tell him that breeding is not just as easy as putting 2 dogs together, & that it is very exspensive & alot of work & that something could go wrong & his bitch might need a c-section or even die..he then said he wasn't stupid & he had done his research & knows what to do...& he thinks that the chances of something going wrong is very minimal & that he is willing to take the chance. I then told him that there was 100's of x-bred small dogs in the pound getting put down every day & why would he want to contribute to that..He then said what makes me think any of his puppies would end up in the pound & that he would make sure his puppies go to good homes, & why would I think his x-bred pups would end up in the pound any more than my purebred pups. By this stage I realised that he is so set in his ways & determined to breed his bitch, that it didn't really matter what I said to him..he was determined to breed his bitch no matter what. :p So I just ended the call by saying, sorry I couldn't help & that I was pretty sure that any registered breeder he rings will give him the same answer. He then just rudely hung up on me. ;) It just frustrates me that people are so set in their ways about breeding , that no matter how much you try & educate them against it they just seem to have an answer to anything you say. I may as well of been talking to a brick wall. Thanks guys ..vent over, I just needed to get my frustrations out..as this bloke really annoyed the hell out of me. Nicole

Congratulations Oakway & becks on the safe arrival of your litters. Can't wait to see pics..
-
Oh so you can order them before the litter is born then...I think I might order 8 then, as we saw 6 puppies on the ultrasound, & she had 8 last year, so 8 should be enough, & I wan't to make sure the packs arrive in time for my puppy owners.
-
Yep you have to fill in an online form on their site, & give them all your details as well as your prefix & the breed/s of dog your involved with to become a registered Advance breeder...I don't think you are able to order the packs until you do this.

Australian terriers seem to tick all their boxes, they have a very low shedding easy to maintain coat...are small in size, have charming , happy temperments with personality plus!! & love to please their owners & are very intelligent..very trainable, great with kids & make excellent family dogs..so IMO good for a 1st time owner. They are energetic, but 30 to 60 minutes excercise would be sufficient for them, but on occasion when they can not be walked they will forgive you if you give them game of fetch or simlar in the home, or a training session, or maybe a trip somewhere in the car. They also do well with most dog sports too..If that is somthing your friend is interested in. Having said that...they also don't mind down time too & are equally happy to curl up on your lap & watch tv with you. They will be alright being left alone aslong as they have toys or a meaty bone to occupy them. They are also a very robust healthy breed & have a life span of 12 to 15 years, but I known some of them to live into their late teens.

I have no reason to make up bull shit...I can assure you the horse I spoke of in a previous post was suffering & dying & the RSPCA did nothing , even after I rang them 3 times. They didn't bother coming out for 5 days, & by then the horse had died. Just because they may get false alarms every now & then is no excuse to not take every report seriously...They are bloody hopeless & in my experience do not seem to care.
-
Yep & I also found it funny when the show Big Brother brought her out here as a special guest to go into the house..& when she came out she organised & participated in a protest against KFC..when in fact KFC was Big Brother's main sponser at the time.
-
OMG that is horrible! That poor horse. Maybe its owner died or something....either way the RSPCA could have helped and 5 days to get out there is ridiculous! Yep it was really tragic...the horse was on a vacant paddock with no house, so I couldn't even find out if it had an owner.. There wasn't a blade of grass in the paddock (this was about 4 years ago when we where still badly in drought ) I managed to give the horse some water & also a little bit of hay, but I think by that stage the horse was too far gone & probably needed a vet. It's just really disgusting that the RSPCA didn't seem to care & that the poor old horse had to suffer.

How Do I Get Rid Of A Mouse Outside
Baileys mum replied to newfoundlandandus's topic in General Dog Discussion
I was thinking the same thing...It's gone from talking about mice to home schooling. -
I rang them once to report that there was a very frail, aged, emaciated horse that I had suspected was abandoned in a paddock near my horses paddock. I rang them 3 times & they never bothered coming out till 5 days later after my initial call...by the time they came out the horse had already died. This was first & only time I had dealt with them & as far as I'm concerned they don't really seem to care..& that is why I hate them. :D
-
Yeah I know I was thinking that too..but I also thought it looked ridiculous.

Petition: Harsher Penalties For Animal Cruelty!
Baileys mum replied to Leelaa17's topic in General Dog Discussion
I tried to sign but it wouldn't accept it because I couldn't fill in my state as they are all USA states and it didn't like my postcode either. How do you get around this? You have to scroll up & change where it says USA to Australia -

Hi everyone How exciting April starts tomorrow. Good luck & a safe delivery of your litters to Oakway & becks who are first up for the month...hope you both get lots of beautiful healthy babies. My girl is on day 47 from first mating & she is getting very big & looks like she is about to pop already :p she had a big litter last time & had the pups on day 59..so I wouldn't be surprised if that happens again, I will put belly shots up soon. Poor thing is starting to look very uncomfortable & acting very precious..I think the pups must be putting alot of pressure on her bladder & bowels, as she asking to go to the toilet alot & has even done a couple of accidents inside when she couldn't wake us up on time. She insists on sleeping in between us on our bed..but we will be setting up the whelping box soon, so hope she will get used to sleeping in that again. She is getting very fussy with her food too.totally refuses to eat her dry food now, but will eat some human grade mince (chicken, turkey & beef ) with some nutrigel or cottage cheese on top, she loves scrambled eggs made with yoghurt & loves having a drink of goats milk too. She doesn't mind a bit of cooked chook too, but is not too keen on raw chicken wings at the moment. Oh well atleast I can get her to eat something though. I had the weirdest nightmare last night ..I dreamt that Brandy whelped a litter of 8 pups , but only 2 of them looked like purebred Aussie terriers..all the rest looked like JRTx Aussie pups, with some of them having JRT colours & markings ;) I remember clearly saying to my OH in the dream "OMG the JRT from next door must have got to her too"!! It's so funny the things you dream.. But in this case it most certainly was a nightmare!! Nicole

I'm also hoping they don't breed & eventually die out.
-
Totally agree with you...I watched some of the link, they really are nut cases.

I know Kissindra, it's bloody ridiculous & something you would expect from this particular group.

Sending prayers & best wishes that Zoey beats this horrible disease. She looks like a beautiful puppy.
