I own an Amstaff and he has a few of those plastic chew bones. I was watching him tonight happily chewing away as the family was watching TV and I thought - can they actually be bad for him? I mean it is plastic after all, and though they say 100% natural, or non harmful for dogs, ham flavoured and so on - at the end of the day is it plastic. Does anyone know of something for a dog to chew that is 100% natural, yet will go the distance with a powerful jaw? I do give him pigs ears, but he can chew a pigs ear and finish it off in a couple of minutes. Fresh bones are for outdoors only, so what does that leave for indoor chewing? He is an inside pet. Yes I can vouch with Groomer on the Evening Primrose Shampoo - its an absolutely amazing product. I have an 11 week old Amstaff that appears to be allergic to the grass in our backyard. Washed him this afternoon with Evening Primrose Shampoo and the results after just one wash are amazing. The redness has already turned to pinkness - a good sign things are already improving. But the big one was tonight when I took him out back for toilet and he ran onto the grass (against my wishes) and I thought here we go again, he's going to come back into the house itching like before. Amazingly he came back in, laid down on the floor and didn't scratch at all! That is only after 1 wash! I will bath him again over the weekend and continue to use this amazing dog shampoo when needed. Couldn't rate Evening Primrose Shampoo highly enough. It really does work.

I went today and bought a bottle of Evening Primrose Oil Shampoo and Evening Primrose Oil Coat Conditioning Spray from Lynda & Archie @ Groomers products. Two of the nicest people you would want to meet. Tomorrow being 41c in Melbourne, its a good time to wash the boy and hopefully give him some relief from the itching. Will make some inquiries into getting the lawn changed. Thanks all.

Whats a stuffed Kong?

Hi everyone, Picked up my new best mate last Saturday (Amstaff) and have got a problem. He is allergic to the square patch of grass in our back yard. I'm pretty sure of it, as soon as he runs on the grass, or lays on it, he starts scratching. When we bring him inside the house I can see the redness on his skin and feel the heat coming off it. The patch is about 10ft x 10ft but I dont know what the actual grass is, and I am considering having it removed entirely and replaced with a more dog friendly grass if that will solve my poor little mates woes. I'm not a gardener so I really have no idea what grass we have in the yard, but if anyone knows off hand a dog friendly grass (if there is such a thing) please let me know, and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
