  1. aw he sounds lovely. Goodness Mya sounds like my cats. I have enough trouble walking two - I can't imagine three big ones. Hamish can never decide which side to stay on either.
  2. I have not heard of any Shar Pei having hot spots due to the wrinkles. Only ever due to allergies. Same as many other breeds
  3. ThaT is what I was referring to as well. Mine gets washed once a week and I wipe her mouth after messy meals. But i am not cleaning her folds all the time.
  4. This is a myth. The wrinkles move with the dog so it is not like dirt is getting trapped anywhere. Shar Pei do get a lot of skin complaints, but it has nothing to do with wrinkles and more to do with breeding.
  5. I have heard a lot of good things about Newcastle Pet Resorts at Fullerton Cove. It would only be about 10 minutes out of your way (from Medowie)
  6. you are having some bad luck. Just remember, he is your dog...it is your decision what he eats and when you want to have him desexed.
  7. This sounds weird to me. I was never told to do this with my dog...surely it will just drop in its own time? Airedales are lean dogs. I think you said previously that they didn't know what an Airedale was so maybe they have no idea. Since your breeder is not far away maybe ask her as well which vet she uses? It may be worth it to get someone who knows your breed. I can't remember weights and agree with asking her about that and food as well
  8. well i guess there is always the possibility you might get dodgy people, but I assume interviews and checks would help.
  9. Agreed. A local rescue has flyers and signs on the sides of bus shelters calling for foster carers.
  10. I think she was wanting the breeder to look after the testing and breeding side of things?..she wasn't aware of how these things work, but now I think she does..
  11. No offence, but if you have only emailed the breeder and your emails read like your posts the breeder probably thought you did want to breed, hence the offer and the confusion. eta - so is she still going to let you adopt a puppy?
  12. How exciting. He is very cute! Have you decided on a name?
  13. They are too cute! It must be fun watching them play. They look like they are full of personality
  14. great photos. looks like the dogs had fun and looks like a great area
  15. Ah, Yuna does that. She stands very upright when she wants Hamish to chase her. It's pretty silly to watch.
  16. Hopefully the breeder or the club will be able to help him if he has not already been adopted (I couldn't see him on the pound site anymore). He is a cutie. I love beardy terriers so was terribly tempted but don't really have the room. Thanks for looking out for him
  17. You might never get any peace if you did it sooner
  18. Thanks for that. I haven't tried it, but have heard good things about it from an overseas Shar Pei forum. Seems cheaper and the fish one has considerably less protein.
  19. FuNny how their ears just pop up! They are adoreable. The fawn one does look very cuddly
  20. My Airedale does great zoomies. He tucks his tail under and speeds off like a crazy thing
  21. I think if you could get a blanket or towel for the breeder to use and then give back to you when you pick up your pup it would be really helpful. I really wish I had because my boy took months to settle down at night in the crate.
  22. Agreed, but if OP doesn't want a dog that is bouncy and can be a crazy puppy then an Airedale probably wouldn't be a good idea.
