Tyrion & Luna have ears, . Looking good guys, & what a big boy Flynn is. I took my guys to a park I went to a couple of weeks ago with Panda to a JS get together. It's totally enclosed & safe to let the spitz off, especially when they won't come back. Laci at the top of the picture, she's now the same size as Panda. Laci, I can flyyyyy My very pretty girl, now 8 months old -

Week 2 has just started. There's a forum & fact sheets with lots of useful puppy info. Each week is a photo comp with a different theme. There's also 2 live chats per week & so far I have forgotten about them. Will have to make sure I log in next time. So sorry to hear about poor little Fin, Crits, RIP little fellow. -

Haven't been on for a couple of weeks. Happy belated birthday to the gorgeous Nova. Oh are those new puppies just the cutest things. My cousin in Rocky rang me the other day, never been to her place & have only seen her a few times in the past, cough cough, 39 years, who used to have Dallies, now has 2 bull Arabs. I didn't know what they looked like but thanks to Esky & now do. :) Laci is now 7.5 mths old & the same size as Panda, which isn't hard as he's such a midget for a JS. I entered a competition on FB for an online training course with Katrina Warren & Kelly of the Wonderdogs. Laci & I were one of the 20 winners chosen. We were sent a bottle of Oakwood shampoo from one of their sponsors. We have added another member to our fur family. My youngest son found an abandoned 5 week old kitten in my mum's garage. No sign of a mother cat or siblings. She's a ginger moggie, was spitting & pawing at us on the 1st night but is now a normal, curious, cuddly nearly 8 week old kitten. The vet gave her a full bill of health. -
This rings a bell with me, but can't remember where I read/heard about it. When getting a dog to roll over make sure they drop 1st & then roll, & not fall into the roll. It's also important for them to do it on a soft surface & not concrete. I've taught Tilba to roll in both directions & I think about 3 in a row. Haven't done it for a long time.

So busy with other things I've forgotten to give Laci updates. She was shown Thursday & Friday of the Anzac weekend & got her 1st 14 points towards her championship. KatieP took her home for the glam spar treatment on the Wednesday (her 7 mth birthday) & she came up so fluffy & white. She's managed to stay clean up until today. She's finally caught up to Panda in size albeit a little longer in the body. Great to see the updated photos of all your pups. They are growing/grown so fast. -
Me too, never heard of them. Must be a rare breed in Australia?

Welcome, Luna has a sweet face. -
My 1st BC wasn't very dog friendly but she had the best fun playing with a big, male BC that came to our obedience club. She also liked to play with a Collie Rough on the way home from school. For a few months, when Tilba was younger, her litter brother came to our obedience club & they also liked to play. In a beginners class we had 2 West Highland White puppies & they spent a lot of the lesson playing with each other. Yes I think they recognise their own breeds.

Can't wait to see photos too. Does she have a name yet? -
Such a cute puppy Law. Does he have a tail? and a name yet? I'm a procrastinator & the last few weeks flew by. I thought I had tonnes of time to puppy proof the house, then it was a week, & when the breeder asked me if I had a name picked out, took me a whole day going through lists to find the one I liked. Look forward to lots more pics when you join the after you get your puppy thread.

I went yesterday to watch the agility & today to watch the Japanese Spitz & Border Collies being judged. I don't know if I'll ever be able to walk again. Didn't get to see much else at the show but was surprised to see the huge new pavilion that now houses the arts n crafts & cakes.

I'm sure she'll be fine tikira. Your story reminded me of my childhood teddy. When I was about 5 y/o I gave him a haircut. I still remember doing it, sitting in a corner behind a chair at our holiday house. Mum later told me she thought he'd just wore out & was shocked that I had given him a trim. -

When I was putting my f/style routine together I had a terrible time remembering my routine without looking at my notes. Comps at Dogs NSW are doubles, so I asked if it mattered if my morning routine was different from the afternoons. No, it didn't matter, because each competition is judged on it's own merit. We are told to continue on & not stop if the dog misses or won't do a move (or in fact you forget), the judges don't know your routine so just keep going. -

Ditto Was thinking of saying this too Lisa while scrolling through them all. :D -
I'm surprised it's not a closed thread as most that are this old are. I tried taping one of Tilba's ears over to match the other one from about 4.5 months. Family members thought it was cruel so kept taking the tape off. If left alone I think it may have worked.

Congratulations Lisa, I went had a look, very nice pic indeed. I also liked & shared for another comp which ends today. I'm probably too late. I do occasionally buy grain free Holistic for Panda as he has a funny tummy at times. Don't tell me about dogs eating hair. Panda used to always bring up hair balls from continually hanging off Tilba's tail or neck. Never saw a dog do it before. Laci on the other hand is a hair eater extraordinare. Will run off with any hair + anything else she can get her teeth into & knows to get away from me quick smart when I say, what have you got in your mouth. Talking about dogs being mistaken for other breeds/animals. I've told this story many times before. About 20 odd years ago now we were going to my cousin's farm near Wingham NSW & stopped off at Stroud on the way. We were parked behind my cousin's trailer which had a calf & a Curly Coated Retriever on board. A grandmother & her grandchild walked past & she said to the child, look, that's a cow & that's a sheep. Needless to say we all got a huge laugh out of it. -

Sorry for the error BC4ME, it's a long time since I went to a comp. Actually got mixed up with her dog's achievements. She's an obedience grand champion. Would be great to add Gr Ch to DWD, gives competitors somewhere else to go & not finish at Ch., no mean feat by any means. -

You would be great sheena. You already do lots with your dogs so nothing to be embarrassed about. Unlike me, embarrassed, nervous, no costume just my normal clothes. I used to go to all the workshops on offer up until end of 2012 & go to all the competitions. Only entered the one double back in March 2012. I think the only BC in history not to get a pass in starters. I had help from a DWD grand champion, person not dog :). She picked my music after I had listened to hundreds of songs myself, then cut it to fit a starters routine. She helped me put my routine together & gave us a couple of private lessons. This all took probably over a year & still when I had the nerve to enter a double competition we bombed. My mentor said I was this /./ close to a pass in the morning comp but I called Tilba back apparently, when she went to do something wrong, if I'd let her go we probably would have passed. The afternoon comp was obviously worse. Nerves will always get the better of me. I didn't practise a real lot, a couple of moves which were Tilba's favourites, most days while waiting for the kettle to boil or getting the dog's dinners ready. I would go out to the back yard & put it all together 2-3 days a week. Due to illness last year Tilba's not MY dog anymore, prefers to listen to other family members. I hadn't done anything with her for the whole of last year & a few weeks ago I thought I'd try her with a few moves from our routine & she remembered them all. :) Even tried a few of her own. If I can ever get fit & over this awful knee, & as Tilba is older, maybe we can start again as I can't see me getting anywhere with the JS's. -

I haven't read all the posts in quite a while, but just had to pipe in here. :D I had all intentions of going to the Nationals but circumstances prevented me. The 2 things that interested me the most were the agility & DWD. So, yes, did anyone video the HTM & Freestyle? I would love, love, love to see it all. I've never been to a competition with so many entries before & would have been in heaven. eta, now back to read them all. -
Oh bugger!!!! I always go Border Collie day which is also Japanese Spitz day - 13th. And I always go on the main agility day which for me is agility & jumping, don't go much for gamblers etc. Heard through a friend that after all these years they finally put a roof over the dog stand, so what do they do, move the agility to the outdoor area way over the other side of the showground. With my bad knee I don't know if I can do 2 days in a row. eta, just had a look at the schedule & the main agility is the 12th, might be doable but all that walking just to get to the events. Might have to stay at one of the hotels on site, not likely. I would love to meet up so maybe if we PM each other with our mobile numbers, just in case you go. I am still not certain which one of those two days I will be going as I am going to have my little grandaughter with me, otherwise I would go both days :) A bummer that they have moved the agility ring & what happens now if it rains That other ring was rather cramped & dangerous though. That would be great sheena. I'll definitely be there on the 13th to watch the BCs & JS. I know lots of competitors hated the dog rings for agility because of all the poles & if having it after breeds, too many doggy smells.

I'm curious as to how Cheys123 is going with her new pup Rosie. We haven't heard from her since she picked the puppy up?????

I'd actually like to teach him to stay away from the kitchen anyway, possibly using the tape method like Honey the Great Dane got taught That was going to be my tip, watch all you can of Honey. :D
