Poor Kenz & poor you, ness. I really feel for both of you. It's just not fair. I know how painful a LP must be as my kneecap has dislocated a few times & it is excruciating.

Dancing With Dogs Freestyle & Heelwork To Music

Seems like you've joined the awesome pup challenge on FB xena98, which I have recently done. Tilba already does say your prayers, down for more 5 secs, need to work on close cupboard door & head down which she's done a little of on my knee. As she already knows back up & tried doing onto a step but having trouble with that as in the past we'd done front feet on step & she's not real good at shaping, she doesn't seem to get the concept. Just tries real hard to do what she already knows. It could be beneficial to learn new moves for DWD as the weeks go by. -
I've only just found out about Raiden been taken ill & his tragic passing. I'm so sorry to hear this awful news. I was only thinking of you both Lhok last Saturday at the Dogs NSW open day when I saw my first Akitas in the fur & thought what lovely, cuddly, teddy bears they were. It's just not fair to lose a puppy so young. RIP beautiful boy.

I hadn't seen your posts recently ktb & wondered where you were. I must say that Hoover has grown into a handsome young man & the agility photos are wonderful, great photography. Who's the dog in the middle of the 2nd last photo?

Just looked it up & appears will be on in Sydney as well. -
It's been a few months since you started this thread solo pup, so I am interested to know if you have chosen a breed & if so do you have a dog?

A bit ot, but moosepup I just love your Zoe. That side on shot of her on the couch with the others, apart from her drop ears, she looks like Panda. I did some research on getting a tibbie but would have loved a black one, before getting Panda of course :D . -
Risks Of Un-descended Testicles/de-sexing
luvsdogs replied to Justrace's topic in General Dog Discussion
My little JS male had both retained testes. I wanted to wait until he was about 18 months but because of this had him done at 8 months, mainly because he had started marking in the house, plus didn't want to take the chance of them becoming cancerous even though I'd heard that other people had waited until a year or more. He had to have a spay. -
I knew none of this until about a year before getting Tilba. She had one heat & was desexed at 14 months. With my JS male I wanted to wait until he was about 18 months but he had retained testicles so I had him done at 8 months. A couple of weeks before he started marking in the house & hasn't done it since being neutered.. All previous dogs were done at 6 months as was the norm. If you are going to be doing agility etc with PJ I'd definitely wait until he's at least 18 months.

He's beautiful SM. I seriously considered a FC before getting Tilba but there aren't many breeders around so decided to go with what I knew & stick with another Border.

That's wonderful news wm, look forward to hearing how it all goes. They sound like the perfect new home for Oliver.

As long as it's not the clay, clumping kind. The puppies are all oh, so cute. Looks like Sumo matches your couch cassie so no need to worry about him on it. :D And the close-up of Tank on the desk is adorable smashtank. -
Koda is really cute, you were so lucky to get him so quickly JackC.

I've only ever felt trepidation was when we adopted a x border collie from the pound. He was only 5.5 m/o at the time & had a couple of behaviours that had me worried if we'd done the right thing. He used to nip at our heals when we went up the back steps & bark at me when I hung the washing out & turned the clothes line. I can remember thinking at the time, I don't like this dog. He eventually stopped the ankle nipping but still for a while barked at the clothes line. He also had to go back to the pound to be desexed 2 weeks after we got him. After that he turned out to be a fantastic dog.

I was thinking along the same lines as the others except being a Frenchie, I'd assume his fur is rather thin & if the collar has sharp edges that could be why he's constantly scratching it. When I 1st got my JS, I know he had a lot of fur around his neck, I had a cheap leather collar with sharp edges so I filed them down so as not to cut his fur.

I thought it was coconut fibre at first too until I read Theobromine. Then the alarm bells rang.

I don't know if it's used here in Australia, I'm not much of a gardener, but it's better to be safe than sorry. http://midwestdogblog.tumblr.com/post/50960136050/please-tell-every-dog-or-cat-owner-you-know-even

You could try this.... also do a search on kikopup's site for any other problems you may have, or just general training tips.

Have you looked at Dr Jean Dodds website. She's done all the research on vaccines & I think it where I read that as long as they show a reading they have cover.

My cat used to do the same thing. It was hilarious & creepy all at the same time.

My mum used to soak arrowroot biscuits in milk to give a new puppy. Back in the day before dry dog food. Can't remember what they were fed after that. The only thing I do remember is he used to get Munchies for doing tricks or as a treat. The dog they had when I was born had horse meat from the pet shop. When my son got his cross bred dog in 2000 we fed her Purina One, didn't have internet back then or know any different. The vet was pleased with her condition & said to keep doing what we were doing. She was later fed Advance large breed & BH. With April & Tilba were pups I always followed the breeder's sheet until they were older.

Today Tonight is about to air a story on designer dogs. I hope it goes in favour of registered dog breeders. ETA. Not what I expected. Talked about the faults that can happen when crossing 2 breeds. Hugh Worth tried to tell us that crossing was good.
