  1. What a sweet old man & what a long life he led because of you. RIP sweetheart
  2. I am another follower of the White Shepherd thread. I am so sorry for your loss Veanna & LMWS He was such a gorgeous boy & I loved watching him grow up. RIP Odin, you were such a brave boy
  3. I am so sorry to hear of your loss of all three I had been hoping that they would return to you. RIP sweet things
  4. Omg hun, that is just so horrible : RIP Mawson I am from Canada & we DO have xrays over here & dogs have been xrays for years over here, so I'm not sure what she was going on about. Definitely contact the controlling body if she is a reg'd breeder. That is just WRONG of her to that to you So sorry you had to go through that
  5. My sincere condolences MsJ. He was such a lovely boy RIP sweetheart
  6. Run free big guy. You were well loved at the end by everyone
  7. As a breeder, I don't mind my owners asking me such questions at all. I don't care how small or how serious the question is or isn't. I would rather they come to me than just asking anyone as normally, I do have a littermate for me to compare their pup's experiences to. Maria is such a wonderful person, I don't think she would have minded you "bothering" her with it at all
  8. Oh wow, I am so sorry to hear that. RIP beautiful boy
  9. Sway was telling you about my little girl Allira ( Sway, I had not seen this thread yet) & you can see her in my siggy. Please, please, please, be careful of stairs. All it takes is one little slip & your pup could be changed forever & even rolling down the stairs can cause broken ribs, necks etc. No matter how well built Kelpies & ACD's are for taking bumps & bruises, accidents happen. Kelpies may not be well known for HD but they can still get it, just like any active well-bred ACD. That said....... Where are the pics of this cutie pie who goes by the name Thunderpaws?
  10. I also give my dogs pig hocks or pork neck bones which seem to be nicely crunchable Pigs' feet also seem to be a good softer chew as well.
  11. OMG I am so, so sorry Danois He has always been one of my favourite DOL dogs & I loved reading about him & his antics in the Dane thread. Please accept my condolences from across the pond RIP big guy, you were very loved!
  12. It is better to do both as the physical exam can find things like cataracts while the DNA test is perfect for PRA etc. The physical can only see signs of PRA after the dog is already showing them which is not good if he already has pups on the ground by then. Good to hear you are testing though & congratulations of the great hip/elbow scores
  13. I've been waiting & waiting to be able to do this for MONTHS! Name: Maryheather Blu Canuck AKA Tallan (short for Tallangatta where his breeders are) sex: Male Date of birth: 16 May 2008 Age: 17 weeks old Colour: Blue & tan with full mask Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Hobbies: Making friends Loves: Wrestling with his new girlfriends Allira & Tharraa, playing with the cats Hates: Don't know yet New pics taken today: With his future mate, Tharraa (she's 8 months old now) & with Allira aww Being silly & what a handsome boy
  14. I followed your thread in Health, I'm am very sorry that she has now left your side. from overseas. RIP sweet Sophie
  15. I am so sorry for your loss Warley. He was such a handsome man  RIP Benson
  16. Do you guys have a item over there called The Pee Post? It's yellow & looks like a garden peg. We bought one last year & all of the dogs now pee either on it or near it & they have also taken to defecating near it. I forgot to add that it gives off an odour that dogs normally aren't able to resist, similiar to puppy pads. The moving the faeces over is a great idea too which is what we did before we got the Pee Post.
  17. I was just giving an example of why people might want to know the breed of pup from an OP, that's all officer. It's a DOG forum so of course people are going to be curious & want to know. We can feel her excitement. Anyway, to the OP, congratulations again. I would rather have the toys, blankie & crate ready so that the older dog can sniff everything & your plan of having the scent is good. Keep an eye out for those times that your oldie is getting tired of the pup & crate the pup or distract it. Definitely let your oldie have somewhere to escape to as well so that they can get away from the pup for alone time. Good luck & again, piccies?
  18. Not necessarily. I didn't see too many people freaking out. People just want to know the breed & have some pics which is no different from any other thread about pups. Normally the OP's of the other threads tell us the breed right away & are so excited to be getting their pup, that they post pics without being asked so of course we all expect that. Please Deb when you are here, pics please edited to take out breeds as I was suggesting an example of why people would like to know breeds. I was NOT saying that a Westie is a toy. I'm very sorry if it come across wrong.
  19. It would also help to know the breed so that we can recommend suitable toys eh? Not all small white fluffy things can play with the same toys Congrats Deb but we all love our piccies especially from people with new pups
  20. BARF can either mean Bones And Raw Food or Biologically Appropriate Raw Food but means the same thing. If you decide to go with raw AND kibble, do not mix it together because they both are digested diferently. With the raw diet, the chicken carcasses, knuckle bones, chicken wings, necks etc, help to clean the teeth & help jaws stay stong & dogs love them
  21. I hope she gets better on her own but do not panic if they can't save her leg. Dogs DO cope very well with three legs & my own girl, Allira lost her leg in July after breaking her elbow landing on the staircase wrong. There was major nerve damage & the elbow was crushed so we thought the best thing for her was amputation. See that happily smiling little red girl in my siggy? She doesn't even care that she's missing a leg. She can run, wrestle, dig & jump & she's only 6 months old & 9kg. Here she is wrestling with her 1/2 sister Tharraa This is only a couple weeks after the surgery Good luck with your poor girl but as I said, do not worry if that leg has to be removed. We worry about it more than they do. Sending lots of to you & her
  22. What a wonderful sweetie but am so sorry that she has had to go. She will be waiting for you on the Bridge :p RIP sweetheart :p
  23. Oh how heartbreaking, I am so sorry you had to lose him that way :p Please accept our condolences & may he run free on the Bridge, young once again. RIP Brodie :p
  24. Sending lots of positive thoughts! Tharraa's sire, Buuli, had to have obstruction surgery last year at 9 months old, to remove a leash that he had swallowed while at someone's house. He was back to his nutty self the next day & I had to keep a leash on him so that I could settle him down Good luck & let us know how it goes!
  25. What a handsome boy. So sorry he had to go Rysup & am sending lots of hugs & thoughts your way. RIP big guy
