You New Zealanders are very lucky! AFAIK the frozen version isn't available in Australia. Only the freeze dried lamb. My dogs love it and do really well on it but I don't feed it much any more because it can be tricky to get, it is expensive and i'm feeding mostly something else atm. I always have some on hand though because they love it.

I recognise that canola field ;)

Not Happy Jan - People Ignoring 'rules'
Tintin Jac replied to poochmad's topic in General Dog Discussion
How disappointing for you. I can understand that you would be mighty unimpressed and it has probably put you off house sitters. We have had our pets and home looked after several times by house sitters. We started that instead of kennels when our old boy was becoming disorientated and needed to stay in a familiar environment. So far, we have used three different families. We have had one small problem but it was quickly resolved with some communication. We still keep in touch with all of them and they visit us if they're passing through. We have a new dog now who has some issues that still need some ongoing management. I would be confident that my instructions in relation to his issues would be followed by any of the three families who have stayed at our place. We would discuss his needs and if I thought they weren't able to understand (it's not terribly tricky) or if they thought they knew better, they wouldn't be welcome in our home. -
Um....where is that photo taken? Have you invited your new friend into your house

What a heartbreaking experience. I really feel for you Owey, your family and, of course, poor Bailey. I hope that Baileys breeder is able to learn from this and do the right thing now. Gosh, I hope Baileys litter mates are OK.

Hilton's, where are you? I'd be happy for you to meet Tintin if you like. Do you mind saying which breeder you've chosen?

Hi, We are going to be welcoming a Lagotto pup into our home at the end of August....can you let me know if your pup was destructive... digging, chewing etc and was he very hard to train? Traceyh Oops, just saw your post. Tintin is now just over 3 1/2yo. When he was a puppy (less than 12mo) he chewed a couple of electrical cords and he had a taste for the eyes of the kids teddys. Really, he hardly chewed anything at all and when he did, I would say that it was our fault. He occasionally dug small but deeeeeep holes in our lawn. He tended to go for the same place each time so we assumed that was something down there that smelt pretty fab. Tintin is very sensitive, as are the other Lagottos I've met, so that's really important to remember. He was pretty easy to train the basics to. He was the standout star at puppy school which was kind of fun :D . The only real issue we still have with him now is his over exuberance with visitors. We're working on it. I guess we did put a fair bit of effort into him but I think that he is just naturally a "good" dog. Thanks heaps to his breeders! Tintin is a ripper dog who constantly makes us laugh. I'm so glad I found DOL which led to finding out about the breed. Oh, and I can highly recommend Ozgottos too. Very supportive and so much knowledge to share.

Mr Barkly is such a dude :D I love seeing his updates. Thanks :)

I like the first one the most. I love the wet brown nose :) Don't take my word though. I'm an admirer, not a professnal!

Ummm.....any more pics??? She sounds like a great little pup. Have you thought about taking her to puppy school?

I don't have any where near enough experience to give you advice but I wanted to say that I think Dasha is absolutely gorgeous Look at those forehead wrinkles :D As long as you are willing to learn and find out all you can, I'm sure Dasha will be just fine.

Until now, I didn't know which DOLer this thread was about. PA you're post had me in tears. What you have been through sounds incredibly horrible. Take strength from all the caring people here. I hope you start to see more happy days. :)

Thanks for that Steve. Its nice to hear that the help is making a difference. Thanks for organising.

Oh gosh, a bit embarrassed now! I think it would be really crap to lose power for so long when you have just moved so far. When you move, you just want to get settled, sorted and get a chance to have a nice cuppa. We have plenty of room because we are only doing respite atm so would have been able to help if needed. I still owe you a cuppa...hopefully before the next storm! DOLers have been very good to me too. Thanks most recently to Panto for all the effort you have gone to for me. I really appreciate it :) Also, Clyde put a smile on my dial when her parcel of goodies arrived. I had bought some girls clothes from her and quite a few extra items arrived which were all gorgeous. Made my day :D

That's very sad Noelle. Thinking of you.

He is sooooo cute! And he sounds like a top little puppy. You might need to get one for yourself

I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like he had a perfect cats life and will be very much missed. He was a beautiful boy.
