K9 Noseworks Seminar Melbourne - Updated!
whitka replied to Staff'n'Toller's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Do you have to be a Vic dog member to go to this seminar? -
I love watching her youtube vids and reading her blog. If she was holding a seminar in Vic you bet I would be there :) I hope everyone who goes reports back I want to hear everything :D
-
That's what I was trying to say but for whatever reason he wasn't going to listen.

So me and the housemate were watching on the news the other day about the two dogs attacking a jogger and then we started talking whether it was the owner's fault. He reckons its unfair to blame the owner because sometimes dogs can be just mean. He then was telling me about his friend who has two cattle dogs and even though the guy has never done anything to the dogs, the dogs have tried to bite him before. I never got the chance to say if it wasnt the owners fault then why were the dogs lose in the first place but by then the argument was getting a bit heated so I left it

Does anyone know what state this will be in?

Definitely use the dog you have now, it will be a great learning experince for you I would love to get into agility but my boy is to old and I wont be able to get another dog for a while. My mum has kindly allowed me the use of her dog ( a little fluffy thing ) which will be a big learning curve for me as I have never trained a little dog before.

Advice On Owning A Big Dog And A Little Dog
whitka replied to LillyFlower's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have an older Goldie and he lives with my mum's little fluffy thing and brother's Border Collie. My boy now days is not that interested in playing with the other two but he is very tolerant of both them. The little guy plays really rough with the Border Collie and he takes whatever she does to him. They all get on so well. -

Dog Id: Star Trek Into Darkness
whitka replied to Chris the Rebel Wolf's topic in General Dog Discussion
Just saw it tonight didn't think I would like but I did :) I first thought St Bernard but doesn't look like a purebred, so maybe a mix. -
The lady I spoke to on the Saturday was very lovely and her two dogs were just goregous. Even my bf who had never even heard of the breed comemnted on what good dogs they were
-
That Shar Pie was just goregous, I went over to say hi and all she wanted to do was lick me  We were there a couple of hours.
-
I went and I enjoyed it. I got a few free stuff ( I might have went a bit crazy on the free stuff  ) and got my boy a couple of things. Was a little disapointed at some of the breed stands as some of the people there didnt really look like they were intersed in talking to anyone. But still I met some goregous dogs and some lovely owners. Fell in love with a Boxer down stairs and a hansome Rottweiler who looked like he was just loving the attention  and the Bernese Mountain dogs to, also talked to the lady with the lovely Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers. I also got to meet for the first time a Clumber Spaniel and Finnsih Lapphund. Also talked to a nice lady at the Aussie stand about the breed and her goreous Aussie. Everytime I went past someone I wondered if they were a Doler
-
Im still decideing on what day to go
-
I cant wait to see some Lappies, it will be the first time i've ever seen one in person :D
-
Im thinking of going. Im staying in Melbourne for a little while and living in the country a couple of hours away I dont normally get to go to things like this. Of course there's a couple stalls i'll be avoiding but im not going to let them stop me from going to have a look. I'll be showing my support to the breed and rescue stalls :)
