Retrieving & Field Training Talk
whitka replied to RubyStar's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
So I had no idea there was a national championship in Sale next weekend until I saw it in the paper this morning  So is anyone here going? I have never seen a retrieving trial let alone a national championship! Im pretty keen to check it out :) -
Juts got an email saying mine has been shipped. It cant get here soon enough!
-
Just as the title says :) I've been to a few trials and have never actually known what a VCA rep is and what they do
-
I just want my dvd now

City and country I would think would be a bit different. I live in a country town and both mum and I took our dogs with us. They didn't go in with us but we took turns holding both the dogs so one of us could go in and vote. It was at a primary school and other people had dogs with them. No one seemed to care about the dogs being there and there were not a lot of people there. Might be a different story in the city.

What book did you get if you don't mind me asking?

But everyone knows rugby players are big softies  Got to love it when out walking someone will come up and stick there hand in Toby's face, I guess they want him to sniff there hand. Toby just ignores them and keeps on walking. Nothing is going to stop him from continuing on with his walk

I wish I could afford more I ended up only getting the Moe Strenfell dvd. I just ordered it now and I wish I had now  How long does shipping normally take?

I was walking my Golden boy at the local market with my friend a couple of weeks ago and out of no where a little boy comes running up to Toby to pat him. I looked around and couldn't see any parents around so I said loudly to Toby lets go its time to go to hopefully give the kid a hint. As we started walking off the kid wrapped his arms around Toby's neck Thank god Toby is a very laid back dog and wasn't bothered at all by this. Both me and my friend were so shocked by this but we did get the kid to let go. I would hate to think what would have happened if Toby was a more reactive dog I have also had kids try to grab the lead out of my hand because some kids wanted to walk and ride my dog Again no parents in sight

I haven't rang them yet. Was just wondering if this was normal for pet insurance companies as im sure not everyone can give a full vet history for there pets. Will defiantly be changing insurance companies, talked to a few different people and no one was helpful.
-
Im with the RSPCA pet insurance and they wont let me claim anything because I don't have Toby's vet history past last year. My old vet died and the clinic had closed down so I cant get Toby's past vet history from them. Should I ring the insurance company and explain why or just not bother and look at insurance else where? Will anyone accept that I don't have his past vet history?

I found this on youtube and thought this could be useful to some. It has given me ideas on what foundation things I could be doing even though I don't have a puppy. I get a better idea of what I should be doing if I can see what it is I should be doing if that makes sense

Im so disappointed I couldn't go to this one. This would have been just for my old boy -
At my club once you pass the first 8 weeks of beginners class you go can go into the foundation agility class. I think the only thing they test is if your dog is good with other dogs which I don't have to worry about that :) They wont take puppies younger then 8 months though. I cant wait to start the class but first I should prob try and pass beginners class first

Mum prob has some Golden in her. One of my biggest pet peeve is when someone calls my Golden a lab. I was at the vets today with my Golden boy and the vet called him a lab. Of course I corrected him and then he said Goldens are just labs with long hair
