You Rottie people are so evil :p all your dogs are gorgeous! I've been secretly wanting a Rottie for a couple of years now and getting to meet some and talking to owners at the dog lovers show didn't help lol -
Does anyone know any vet clinics near Mulgrave that sell royal canin veterinary diet dry food?

When I used to take the train to the city I always saw people with dogs, no one seemed to mind. Looks like my weekends are going to be full for a while!

That place looks awesome! I wish we had somewhere like that in Melbourne. -

Have You Already Picked Out Breed/name For Your Next One?
whitka replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
My partner has already chosen our next dog and the name  We are getting a Doberman and his name will be Apex. -
So now im living in Melbourne and have more chances to do things with my dog ive been looking at what might be suitable for him. Toby is a 10 year old Golden Retriever with arthritis, he is still doing well and is reasonably fit for his age but the only thing I can think of is tracking. So would tracking be suitable for dog like Toby?

I went with the Supercoat lite for now. Unfortunately we only really have two places that have a selection of the higher end dry foods. One doesn't sell small bags which is what I wanted to see if it will agree with him and the other didn't have any light formulas in stock. The joys of living in a small town  The supercoat lite has 7% fat which is the same amount as the stuff I've been getting from the vets.

Thanks White shepherd mum, i'll see if I can track down Nutro and have a look. Where did you get the milk thistle tablets from?
-
Thanks Cavnrott I didn't think about checking the dry food's fat content I do know that most of the good dry foods will be expensive but the one im getting from the vets only seems to last around 4 weeks and its a 6 kg bag. Im happy to pay abit more as long the bag of food lasts a bit longer. Im paying nearly $90 for this dry food.

So my 10 year old Goldie has a fat intolerant liver according to the vet and has been on this vet prescribed dry food and he mostly gets boiled chicken with it. I have asked the vet what else he can have and all he said he could really have was vegies and rice. I have also tried chicken and turkey mince for some verity. My problem is the dry food im giving him is getting to expensive and its only a 6kg bag. So I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions of a low fat dry food I can give him also anything else low in fat I can add to his meal.
