Can anyone recommend good dog trick books and where you got them? Thanks
-
Before when me and my dog were VCA regestered we got 2 passes in CD, our membership has run out so if I become a member again do those 2 passes still count or do we have to start again?

My 8 week old puppy is always trying to bite our fingers, hands, arms, toes, feet, legs, face and anything else she can get her mouth on. She also likes to grap onto our pants and shirts. How can we stop her doing this as she is getting very rough.

If You Could Trial Any Breed....
whitka replied to whitka's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Ok my turn, I would say Aussie simply because I have fallen in love with this breed, smart and easy to train with a sense of humor -
For a bit of fun, if you could trial any breed what would it be and why?

Today our gorgous labby boy Bomber was given his wings, he was surrounded by his family and went peacefully. After having surgrey to get rid of cancers and having arthrtis it was heart failure that got him in the end. He was nearly 14. Well what can I say except the house feels so empty without him. For nearly 14 years our family were blessed to have him part of our lives. Everyday we got to see his smilieing face and wagging tail that just didnt know how to stop, infact at our local show he was the waggeist tail winner 3 years in a row. Bomber was everyone's friend be that human or dog, he had no problem shareing his home with visting dogs and accepted Toby right away. Bomber was the one got me into training, at 8 years old I took him to the local obedience club and I was inpressed with how fast he picked up things and he just loved it. So many wonderfull memeries with him and cant remember a time when he wasnt around and it's going to be hard to get used to not seeing that smile or that wagging tail. Bomber you were such a happy boy and you will never be forgotten, rest in peace goreous boy

I've just tried this with my boy, 5 year old Golden Retriever, no titles and was trained with food, toys, praise and clicker. I did this for a minute and in that min only a couple of times did he glance at me for like 2 seconds, he really wasnt interested.

East Gippsland Agility Trial Weekend
whitka replied to whitka's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
That's OK unless I know the dog I dont really let Toby go up to dogs on lead but he's very good at ignoreing them to, it also helps that he's used to the trial enviroment and is ok with being around other dogs, it doesnt worry him. Im not stewarding so I thought it would be nice to take him, will be bringing the trusty create. Tell Big Ted and Princess Lil that im happy to give out pats, Toby will just want food -

.I only hope between Darcy and I that we manage to produce some agility. Just keep your eye out for the pink and purple palace Whitka.. it's hard to miss. It will probably be part of a gazebo farm on the grounds somewhere. Good thing it's not a big place otherwise I would propably walk right past you and not even relise it Cant wait to meet Darcy Im still decideing if I should bring Toby or not and if I should bring his create, bloody thing is a hassle carting around but at least it keeps him in there. -
