  1. I was at a trial and there was a dog that fouled the ring lost the 10 points and still got the Q and won the ring
  2. For me its to prove to myself that i've done a good job trainging them and all the hard work i've put in was worth it and to show it off. With Toby I made alot of mistakes and was never confident in myself as a handler dont know why I bothered sometimes My attiude and confidence is slowly coming back with CJ and hopefully i'll be able to show everyone what we can do.
  3. My first trialing dog was Toby, got two passes in CD and stoped there because we were really getting no where and he just isnt interested I was training how our local club told me to train not knowing any better and that just made him board with it all. There's alot of factor that played into it, how I trained and the kind of dog he is as Toby is very low drive. Im taking a different approach with CJ and it seems to be working as she is alot more keen then Toby was to work, so who knows you might see the Black Devil out in the trial ring one day RS dont give up on Ruby, I hear you got some great mentors up there that could help you
  4. Sorry to go off topic but which agility codes are there in VIC besides ANKC?
  5. Yep, but that structure is what is now being bred. I think I saw that "old style" dog at Sale one year. I agree, it had no issues with jumping. The one I think your talking about is from a shelter, and there a local here.
  6. Ok maybe its my laptop but I cant find any past threads about puppy agility I've tried useing the search thingy but nothing comes up!
  7. I have had my dog on the expensive stuff like Advance, Eagle Pack and Artemis and was not impressed. My boy has itchy skin and a dull coat and none of these improved anything for him, changed to Bonnie Working and what a change. He doesnt itch anymore and his coat is looking great, poos all good and deosnt stink. Our puppy who we were feeding Advance to also had a itchy dull coat, switched to Bonnie Puppy and the same good results as my other dog. So you could guess what I prefer ;)
  8. I wont be able to make it Have to go to work early and start helping with the upcoming toy sale. Good luck all though im sure you and Benson will breeze through it
  9. Thats the one thing Toby was so good at, his stays and SFE were always solid. He has never once gotten up or moved during the stays and never even moved a foot during the SFE. Gee what does that say about my dog he's perfect when he deosnt have to anything
  10. Well I could sneak into someones lugguage and see how that goes and as for dogs I could eaither take the white fluffy thing and die of embarresment or the black devil and die of embarresment
  11. Thanks for the encourgement guys, I really need it. Huski no there's really nothing like that around here, but I think the local club sets up a ring every now and then. RS everytime I was competeing at a trial I would spend most of the time in the toilet throwing up or trying to ( I could never eat anything ) My expectations are being kept in check, I just want her to enjoy working. Should I go back to the club and trian there or would it better doing it on my own? Any advise on how to do it right would be grate, im not gonna ruin another dog.
  12. So I expect to see you here, then eh? Sorry I have nothing to trial and no money, that's my excuse and im sticking to it
  13. Ok first off a little background story. When I got Toby I had big plans and dreams to trail him, I did enter both obedience and agility trials but that didnt work out to good so I gave up on him, he's just not the working kind. After loseing my beautifull old lab Bomber my step dad bought a shy little lab x golden home she didnt stay shy for long. I've been doing alot of training with her and very keen to stick to it. Now here's my problem, CJ at 8 months ( tomorrow ) has so much engery, is bright, outgoing, picks up things quckily, shows good focus and is very toy and food moitivated basically the dog i've always wanted. After a bad experince at the last trial I said I would never step foot in another trial ring again. But CJ is showing so much promise that I have been thinking about trialing her. I just dont know if im brave enough to do it.
  14. RS the nats are for anybody to enter so no excuses
  15. I think the East Gippsland club might as I know one the members there who competed did titre testing. I can double check for you if you like?
  16. LP you can send Miss Piggy my way
  17. Huge congrats Dee al and Kane!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D What was his score? I would have come to watch if I wasnt in Townsville.
  18. Well I might as well put up my trianing brag ( who knows how many im going to get ) I fineally got of my arse and did some crate training with CJ who at nearly 7 months hates the crate but after only an hour useing Sussan Garret's methods in Crate Games I was very impressed with her. I could put abit of distance between me and the crate with the door open and she wouldnt move, played the in and out game which at first she was a little slow but she picked it up very quckily.
  19. LP i'll swap you a puppy for my puppy
  20. That's what im feeding Toby now but someone got fat so im looking for something else that isnt formalted for working dogs.
