I was working so I didnt get to see it, so disapointing Is there going to be a repeat or can you watch on the internet? -
Can anyone recommend anything for beginner agility?
-
Thanks for the replys  I've been rewarding her when she's calm and ignoreing her when she's jumping and she seems to be getting it, thankfully CJ is a quick learner.

I would love to see that, it would be so cute.

Just thought I woould start this thread so everyone can post about there fave books and or dvds. They can be about obedince, agility ect or just genral training and behaviour. This could also be a good reference for others that are looking for a book or dvd

Yep for heeling or just working in genral (sp?) that was one thing I had trouble with Toby was he never had much focus on me.
-
Just wondering how do you teach a dog to focus on you?

CJ is a 13 month old lab x and she really is goregous but she is a real problem jumper which makes it hard to want to be around her. I've never had a dog who is always jumping up on people like this so not sure how to stop this. Any tips?

Im in desprite ( sp? ) need of some grooming help! My step dad washed Toby my Golden Retriever on the weekend and didnt brush him at all and now he's covered in matts. There is only 2 good groomers in town and there both way to busy to fit him in so I have to try and do it but I dont really know how to handle it. What should I do and what sort of brushes should I use? Also if anyone knows of any good groomers around East Gippsland could they let me know please. Thanks.

It's abit harder then that, it's my boyfriend's house and im living with him, they only moved in a couple of weeks ago. I dont want Toby there for that reason so he's at my parents house. I've told my bf that if anyone hits my boy there would be hell to pay
-
Becuase its the only way they will learn, for instance he chewed up some shoes last night but becuase he knew what he did wrong he needs to be punished. Cos these are my housemates. I point out how i've never hit my dog ( and never will ) and yet he still turn out to be a good dog with the right sort of training.
-
As the title says I need some good strong arguments as to why there is no need to hit or scream at your dog. Nothing im saying is working and I feel so sorry for the little guy Whenever he sees his owner he is always being very submissive but of course it means he's done somthing wrong so he gets another flogging

Hi all I was one of those people who would always say I would never set foot in a show ring, dont know what's happen but now I really want to start showing Only problem is I dont have a dog to show I'll be going to a local show to watch next weekend and I know that will only make me want to show dogs even more!
