  1. I know how goregous they are But he's never met one, he more likes Husikes since that's what he grew up with. But I want to agility with this puppy so want something a little easier to train so hopefully we will find something we both will like. I've also been looking at lappies, tollers, another golide or another lab. Also a border collie to.
  2. To many at the moment I wish it was sooner but we will have our own house by the end of next year so that would be a better time. Aussies are still at the of my list of course :D But the OH also wants to be in on the chooseing process Going to see if I can drag him to the pet expo to meet a few breeds.
  3. So looks like I will fineally be getting that puppy that ive been wanting for a few years It wont happen till the end of next year but at least its happening, im just a little excited Funny thing is I now have no idea what breed I want. I thought I did but now have no clue there's just to many. So prob a good thing I have a year to decide
  4. Loraine my thoughts are with you at this very sad time RIP Zedley
  5. Think i'll add to mine If my brother doesnt take his Border Coliie pup to Melbourne I would like to start agility with her
  6. My step gradnfather had a Smooth Fox Terrier, he loved everyone and was good with other dogs. I dont think I have ever seen a nasty cocker or jrt so with carefull introductions you should be right
  7. Like TLC even though im not single I provide for all my pets needs although I do only have one dog and one cat ( hopeing to expand that ) But I know my OH will help out if needed to.
  8. Nevafollo i've never really considered Pointers but seeing your girl Kite has converted me into a Pointer lover
  9. I see my boy in a couple of weeks ( havent sent him a in couple of monthes ) so depending on how much weight hes put on if ill get him a stocking filled with treats but he will get a toy and it will be wrapped
  10. Ive never actaully chosen any of my dogs. Dont know what ill be like when I actually get the chance to choose my own I choose my breeds becuase I eaither really want one or just really like them.
  11. There are heaps of people here who could say the same about their own chosen breed, everybody thinks their own breed is the best and that anybody who doesn't like them mustn't know them. Sorry but not so. People just like what they like Yeah I agree - for example I like dogs on the lean tall pointy short coated side and my lists reflect that, with a few fluffy exceptions. I don't like braccy breeds (the noises freak me out among other things, just not suitable for what I do with my dogs) but I understand that other people can't get enough of them. There are lots of people who can't even name one terrier that they like but it doesn't bother me, I understand they are not for everyone. It would be boring if everybody liked the same thing, particularly with dog breeds where there are so many different types. I'm one of the people who really struggled to put terriers on my list Come to think of it, every group was hard but group 3! But I think I only counted like 2 others apart from me who like Labs and it's no big deal Gotta say though, schnauzers would never have made my utility list until my parent's new addition came along. They are full of spunk! Probably wouldn't own one myself (like the majority of the dogs on my list) but they sure are fun to train! I never thought much of little fluffys until my mum's little guy, hes such fun dog do things with.
  12. My second fave is the Golden Retriever and there hardly on any ones list (prob becuase there common ) but thats fine everyone has there own tastes
  13. If only I wasnt so broke Im blameing christmas for this Just going to have to wait to the next free shipping, although I am getting worried now that if I start I wont be able to stop

  18. I was still thinking about if I really wanted to put anything here but hay why not :D For me it will really depend on where I am next year so thats how ill play it for now. If im still in Sale then ill be stealing mum's dog First just work our way up through obedience classes and hopefully start foundation agility training. Little Noah has so much toy drive so it should be fun seeing how he goes If I dont end up staying in Sale then its trying to convicne OH to let me get a puppy I might even try try some tracking with Toby depending on where we are. Thats it I think, really looking forward to next year
  19. Did you not just answer your own question 'How can anyone think it's right to hit a dog'? Can you define the difference between a hit, a smack and a tap? Unless you had never touched your dog in ANY manner, isn't it a bit hypocritical to then start a thread with this title and rant about how wrong it is for people to hit dogs. My issue would be, as you have also pointed out, that it is not his dog to hit, but that should be reflected in the thread title. I admit that I have on occasion smacked my dogs, but heaven help anybody else if they ever did. @ BullArabe Well for me a tap would be say tapping someone on the shoulder to get there attention and a hit on the head ould be slapping someone the in face thats how I differ them.
  20. Just a couple of weeks ago one was looking after a friends dog here and I never saw them hit this dog at all.
  21. It was a loseing a battle for me so I just said if hes doing something wrong tell me or my bf and we will deal with it. I have never hit my dog (nor do I intend to ) and he is so well behaved, well most of the time. The most he has gotten is a tap on the bum. Bull Arab I love it
  22. Our frineds trusted us to look after this dog so thats what is really making me mad is what give them the right to hit a dog that isnt even yours
  23. This wasnt just a little a tap, this dog was hit in the head it was enough to make this dog be weary of this person.
