It is available in a 6mth or 12 month application and IMO it is better alternative than having unwanted litters if the owner is against normal castration.
At the vet where I work, every de-sex gets pain relief and antibiotics (unless there is a reason not to) It is included in the price and is not listed seperately on the invoice. I think for spey's especially this is standard procedure.
