Hope the puppy is OK. Some very generous offers here, really restores your faith in humanity. The Vets where I work will never turn away an animal in need - like someone mentioned earlier, we may hold onto the animal for a day or so until payment, but everything gets the treatment it needs.

Hi PF, I am very interested in a budgieoodle. I would prefer to feed a SARF (seeds & raw friut diet) rather than BARF - so a beak would be prefered over a snout. I would like at least 1 wing, but I definately want paws instead of those horrible, leathery, skinny legs. I promise to give it the very best home and lots of love and attention (until I get bored). Liquid Valium can be given rectally via syringe in the case of a seizuring dog. Perhaps you could have a chat to your vet about having somethng like this on hand in case of emergencies. You did well in managing to get the valium down her throat while she was fitting. ETA Sorry, just saw that this has already been mentioned.

My old rotti who passed away last year was a "wiggle bum". Even when he lost one of his front legs, he could still swing that behind and do a mean bum-dance. I miss him terribly and I dream about him all the time. The comfort I have is knowing how much he loved me and I'm sure he knew how much I loved him back. Your local Vet should be able to recommend somewhere that offers grief councelling. Where are you located?

We have seen a few pancreatitis cases at work due to the dog eating ham, bacon etc. Just be careful with any really fatty meat/bones.

My dogs will eat cat nuggets at an opportunity they get

Its very kind that you have taken this dog under your wing. I would suggest taking him to the vet, get him checked over and taking their advice on how Boafhead should spend his final days/month/years. Good on you and your husband for caring!!!!!!!!!! :rolleyes:
