He just had his annual check up and the vet didn't notice any probs..but then, I didn't think to mention the peeing as I have just been putting it down to old age.. The time between bed and being let out varies depending on my shifts..can be up to 8 hours..I might start keeping a diary so I can observe how long he can hold on.. And I never even considered a dog door...Thanks for the input everyone!

My dog is now 10 years old and sleeps inside at night..for years I've had no issues with him peeing - he's always held on til I've let him out..Over the past few months however, on most mornings he has had a pee..I let him out as late as possible to go to the toilet before I go to bed, but more often than not, it doesn't make any difference..Just wondering if there's anything else I can do??

Sorry, didn't see it already posted.. I wholeheartedly agree that it is the irresponsible owners who should be punished..Maybe if the penalties were harsher, they might be more inclined to provide secure enclosures and that a dog shouldn't be destroyed purely based upon it's breed or size...

Here's a link to the Dept of Primary Industries survey regarding legislation to toughen laws around dangerous dogs.. As I know 2 people and their dogs who have recently been victim to vicious dog attacks, I appreciated the opportunity to have some input and thought others here might feel the same.. http://dpidangerousdogs.questionpro.com/

Have just spoken to my friend and pleased to report he and his dogs are slowly recovering..They even managed a little wag of their tails when they were reunited! Unfortunately, he has no idea of who owns this dog but is going to be keeping an eye out for it!

Thanks for your kind wishes - I will pass them on to him.... Just wish there were some way of eradicating these attacks!!!!!!

Hi everyone It's been a while since I visited but I really need to vent and figure this is the place for it! 2 nights ago whilst out walking his 2 chihuahuas, my friend and his 2 beloved pets were attacked...One of them now has more than 50 stitches, whilst the other, who is now 15yrs old, has a pin in his leg...Until the vet went into the leg, they weren't sure whether they could save it or it would have to be amputated..Not to mention whether his aged little heart would survive the trauma of surgery!! An ambulance had to be called for my friend who tried with all his might to save his beloved pets from being killed..He kept passing out and people who came to his aid thought he was having a heart attack...He suffered concussion from hitting his head when he passed out and needless to say, he and his pets are traumatized...And it was only weeks ago that the mother of another friend had her beloved poodle ripped to shreds by 2 dogs that entered her beach house (this incident did make the news).... I'm not sure what the penalties are for owners of dogs that are left to wander the streets and attack as they please, but they need to be harsher and maybe this would make owners take a bit more responsibility!! My friend is now left with an $8000 vet bill which he is more than happy to pay as his dogs have survived, but it's just not fair!!!

I think you'll be really happy with the 450D Shell...I've had the 350D for about 18mths and have loved using it to learn on...I've got the 18-55IS and 55-250IS and happy with both..I can't recommend the 55-250IS highly enough! To see what results you'll get with this lens, check out this link... http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=459569 I wasn't even considering it til I saw some of the pics here, then I just had to have it, and I'm really happy with my purchase! Here's a shot taken as soon as I got it out the box on a dull day.. Good luck with whatever you decide! Kerry

Crawford went through a puking stage when he was about 18mths old....I was told ground ginger would do the trick so about 1/2 hr before travel, I would give him a small amount of dry food with ground ginger and it worked a treat for him...Might be worth a try???

I heard on one of those airport shows (Border Security perhaps?) that this is how the customs dogs get their meals
