My advice run fast ,like already mentioned the mother being ill is no reason at all for the pups to leave early & i agree with Haredown sounds like someone wanting to offload puppies early because its all to hard & i truly hope your not paying alot of money for these puppies Not sure what the law is in your state as to what age pups can even be sold but i would not buy a pup from such a person no matter what . Will the pup be vaccinated & microchipped before you get it ,if they aren't chances are they haven't been vet checked either The person with the litter should be supplying you with a diet sheet of what the pups are currently being feed .keep in mind not all pups are on a good eating regime at 6 weeks & i would certainly be asking alot of questions . As to the needs of the pup alot will come down to how this litter has been raised & that is something you should already now & i gather have seen the pups & now what stage they are at social wise & life experience wise & temp wise.If you haven't seen the pups then you wont now until it arrives just how much work & catch up you will be required to do . The issue you have is raising this under age puppy to be very confident & able to cope without humans all the time so its important not to spoil it in the next few weeks & set the pup up for success not failure

I think firstly you need to sit back & remember your stress is nothing compared to what the dog is going through. The dog is blind & a diabetic plus being old & most likely very reliant on humans to give him comfort & reassurance . How mobile is the dog & is the dog able to find its water bowls, the door & move around the house easily ??or is the dog very reliant on humans to assist when you are home . Does the dog have its smell ?? What is the best option only you now but there will be no quick fix or easy option ,

West Puppy - Eye Discharge, Suspected Dry Eye?
Dogsfevr replied to idealgrind's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
And don cut the coat around the eyes ,the hair would have had length and hung down everyone trims it so short the hair can be more annoying as growing it often annoys the eye .Buy liquid tears gel from the chemist and put some In at night ,pup is teething do grubby eyes can be an issue and yes blue caked tear ducts . -

Need Help Finding The Right Service Dog
Dogsfevr replied to SeanyB's topic in General Dog Discussion
There are very few Malt breeders around & most don't breed often & there generally small sized litters so basically you could be waiting for some time for A ) a pup & B) a pup suitable to what it needs to pass to be certified . -

Maybe Silly Questions About Feeding Puppy With Older Dog Around
Dogsfevr replied to DaveyCC's topic in Puppy Chat
We fed sep but ours could eat together . Pander now & you create drama down the road. We don't allow grazing here ,feed time is that & if you don't eat it goes away . You have a dog that will stand back & not eat & is fussy. You have a puppy that needs to learn independence & that includes eating . If she becomes a food pig your older boy will most likely eat even less . Eating should be set up for success ,fussy dogs are a nightmare . -
Depends on the breed but we tell our puppy buyers to keep it simple & safe because you have plenty of time to buy things . Although my biggest pet hate is the lead & collars some buy ,whilst many want it to look awesome most are not practical for the dog so think of the dogs comfort first ,bedding should be very washable . I would say most people waste to much money when they bring a pup home

Actually the long haired is what you should have got
-
You need to teach him where is spot is then whether that be a mat/bed or something If you want him to sit on the couch then teach him either way if he doesn't now what you want it wont work

Furminators used correctly can be great tool & the hair building up isn't typical The biggest issue is people don't release these two heads long/short coat & many order the wrong one . If the coat has never been clipped then just pull it,buy a slick n easy stone & work over the coat with that . I will say using the furminator whilst lathered in shampoo works better as does the stone. I don't use the furminator on my show dogs but they do have a purpose used right & not in a hurry there not a 10 min tool

Stacks of dogs have ewe necks but it doesn't stop them from being trained its easy to visibly see ,In fact Greyhounds would be one of the worse with Ewe necks & when you look for the issue you will see how common it is .When ES sit anyway they sit often with a strange appearance they sit but often with the head /neck right back ,it doesn't like right but its them Gay tail also wont stop train ability , In the US ES as hunting dogs tails are as gay as they come when working & they sit fine . ES are a very smart breed but training is all about why ,they learn to quickly but i also find its a breed owners give up to quickly because they often have that vague appearance so many an obedience trainer list them as not smart just like Irish Setters

I think you could add for ever but for me if i only had one dog a wire crate & a good non escapable lead would be my must haves. You can never have enough vet wrap & its human/pet usable . The reality is what can i grab if i had to asap . For fires we have fire buckets which have slip leads, vet wrap muzzles etc etc & yes we double up as we have kennels we figure you can never have to much but there comes a point where in an emergency grabbing everything isn't possible so the most useful is for us

Breeding Blue Staffordshire Bull Terriers
Dogsfevr replied to Meg_1985's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'm thinking there most likely not much help and breed blues after all no real breeder breeds blue by choice . To the OP will you be showing your girl ? Or is your plan just to bred pups .i only ask as it will d termite who will sell you a male or allow there dogs at stud especially given how many Staffies are just breed and for colour because as already mentioned colour is last on the list although most would not have purchased a blue to breed with. You also need to assess her faults and determine what you need in a male to help -
Socialising Scared My Dog And He Cannot Be Shown Now
Dogsfevr replied to cyrus2015's topic in Puppy Chat
Your pup is 16 weeks so in the scheme of the show world it only has potential, your pup may not turned out anyway as a show/ breeding prospect but scars does not stop a dog from being shown. I think your being overly dramatic & should be more worried about making sure the actual dog attack doesn't affect your pup . Lesson learnt if you don't want your dog to play then say no . And don't blame the breed ,one of the nastiest dogs i have ever seen was a Vislza & i had to make sure it didn't attack my dog whilst in the group line up on numerous occasions, sadly it did bite a dog at the show & got suspended so any breed can have an issue or just not click with the dog on the day -
Our dog door is big, designed for large dogs to be able to get in & out in comfort & not injure there back.if someone is stupid enough to take there chances & come through good on them but we weren't prepared to compromise the dogs comfort . Our door is in our security sliding door . If you have a sliding door the easist option is the panel that just fits in ,not cheap but doesn't cause any damage or modifications & still locks the door

Why Are Greyhounds Always Suggested As "no Fuss" Dogs?
Dogsfevr replied to Salukifan's topic in General Dog Discussion
Having owned 8 Greys they are low fuss, don't like massive exercise & enjoy the couch & happy to chill out on there own BUT they still love there humans & time with them . I rarely recommend them because people don't like the look, just like Whippets ,under estimated pets based on looks & pre conceived ideas of them chasing everything . I don't recommend my current breed either because generally peoples want list is obviously based on a stuffed dog or the dream dog . But i will say i don't get why people always suggest Greys because like every breed out there there not for everyone but i still firmly believe there a hidden treasure as a breed -
I would be looking for a good dog chiro or bowen person to ensure there isn't a muscle issue & the nerves are twitching hence the dog responding .
