  1. prime 100 do a crocodile roll .Ivory coat do a venison dry food . There is meat wise also horse, goat & rabbit You need to do a food list of EVERYTHING she gets daily & be honest even if you end up at a specialist they will require the same honesty ,Anything that goes in there mouth is food even if some people seem to not think that How long has she been itchy & had the black tummy ,is this an entire life issue or a more recent issue. Yeast issues are also often seen in the ears & feet & generally all over . Are you using a different groomer ??Do they clip the dog very short?? Does the dog lay in the garden in a curtain spot on on something . Does she pee alot or look sore around her privates ?? Elimination diet means taking it back to basics but it needs to be done properly to get a true result & this is where some one offay with this process is a must .Its not a week week this & that process Schmackos is a dog junk food so no loss not getting that . Your vet doesn't sound very invested ,i would maybe look for a new vet who is no an over servicer but willing to work with you ,maybe ask here. Generally vets who have grown up in a farm background are great . Specialist can help they can also lead you down the garden path & you spend lots of money for no real answer anyway.
  2. Depends on what registry ,we can't assume it's dogsNSW or Vic so it depends what the papers look like and issued by ,There are other registry's. As Rebanne has said blue can be deceiving so it's hard to say . But as mentioned the microchip number of the pup should match your puppy . If a dogs NSW member pup has to have chip number to be registered . As for the other info it's hard without seeing the papers to say what is what , Fleas well I would be horrified to have sold a pup with fleas
  3. Would have seen a specialist ages ago who most likely would have sorted it out earlier . Are the dogs teeth good?
  4. The breeder should have openly informed of all these things if there breeding for the right reasons .If they have no clue then they will be no use to you info wise. A good breeder will inform you what the parents have been tested for and there status. A good Chi breeder will also have informed about the breeds special needs as a puppy and making sure you are aware before committing to the breed. And by special needs Chris do have a need more important than other breeds If your doing all the asking then that's a worry
  5. For us we would be removing now in a dog that age ,getting a clean and hope it lasts .
  6. idiot no excuse for not knowing,as the stud dog was obviously tested there is no excuse not to know . Having said that the litter could still be registered with a terrible score on the parents
  7. Most ethical breeders sell older than 8 weeks as they vaccinated older due to the size and also wait for the skull to have covered more ,many also make sure there eating well so the risk of hypos is lowered ,the parents should have there patellar certified and ideally parents should have teeth . The issue is you have already committed so our answers are irrelevant No such thing as a cheap puppy and the price shouldn't be a factor when buying a breed that lives a long life ,vet bills if poorly bred will not make your cheap pup cheap .
  8. I have had one dog roll out of one ,the mesh was not sewn in securely & as he laid down to sleep popped the mesh .Paid to get it re done properly. I had the NoztoNoz ones which are often considered the best ,never had any issues but for me decided i prefer the wire 100% for safety & security and to be honest the size of my dogs the weight difference in a soft v wire wasn't noticeable .
  9. It means they have 2 dogs & have breed them & aren't a registered breeder . I would be wanting to see the parents to make sure they are proper looking Chis ,after that its a risk you take. Ask lots of questions about what after sales support they will give you,ask about there diet sheet they supply you ,what age pups will be vacc & microchipped ,what age they are sending them home. If you have research the breed truly you should have a good grasp of all the right questions to ask about the breed especially raising a baby & some important factors regarding the breed
  10. I got rid off mine there hot, can't hang a Walter bowl up and still can be damaged even if the dog is perfect
  11. My question would be over the last 12 months how have you manged the situations . Like today for example your bitch growled & gave everyone fair warning that she wasn't comfortable but i gather no one took those signs seriously & the bitch did hence the outcome . So in the past how have you addressed her warning signs?? .
  12. I don't think this question needs opinions as you would feed a dog according to its needs & what it does better on .Simple as that
  13. We prefer phone calls because we can't talk about what our plans are,we can sort out what people are after and whether we are likely to have ( colours for example) ,we inform the price, conditions . Language should not be a worry .We then ask people to send an email after the call with contact details and they are after per phone call Make a check list of the basics that are important . What info do we want ,honest info .Nothing more frustrating than the people who say we have researched and during the chat you find out the know nothing. The breeder should be able to tell you the pros/cons any significant info important to the breed .
  14. JulesP exactly many people confused & presumed a female by the breeder reply & the OP post so i don't think the breeder can be blamed solely here
  15. Same here Asal ,if buyers say they only want a girl then we don't go into details about the boys ,if they want a colour that wasn't born then no pup available . I read that reply as only wanting a female because of the reply from the breeder of only two etc etc & if you want her a deposit is required . We personally don't take deposits on puppies that haven't even had there first vet checks & nor now what the temp of that puppy is & the suitability to that home but each to there own
  16. So Collie did you put your name down for a boy or girl or where you open minded
  17. Collie Thoughts two sides to every story ,the breeder may have said only xxx number available & that second pick is what is available. Have learnt over the years that some potential pet owners can be great story tellers too especially those that expect to get what they want . We deal with that small group often & plenty will tell the next person a different story to make out they have been hard done by . Yes some breeders can also be there worse enemy with explaining things too. Although im not sure what the second pick aspect has to do with putting a deposit down ,the pup is either something that you want or it isn't & one would presume what you where after pup wise was well discussed prior to selecting the breeder .If you don't like what has gone on then go find another breeder which i gather has been done
  18. And also if your confident staring and asserting your dominance will go along way. For worst case scenarios which I always have on my person, but have never had to use is a mechanics mini mallet. I gather the OP has tried these two options as this was part of his reply to unleashed dogs
  19. Why would any sane dog owner want to not walk around the dog & ask about legal advice on defending when you don't want to report to counc?? You have plenty of options to keep your dog safe ,utilize them.If your trying to prove a point to this person then its not going to happen . If you feel you can explain your concerns in a civilized fashion to this person then do so without your dog . You can't be a bigger person yet not want to do anything,if you feel this dog is a danger to anyone walking there dog then report it .
  20. Have the vets considered EIC in your dog ,do you know the carrier status of your dog ,if the parents where tested then you should know your dogs status .
  21. So how old is the Lab & when you say a weak rear end what are your expectations of company or is it more a case of the family wants a dog that can do more than the Lab ?? If the Lab has issues then you need to consider your plans for time out & a safe area for that dog ,you cant expect a dog to be able to play if it has trouble just standing
  22. Personally you need to allow your dog to settle into its new routine, you need to see how often it may seizure & any triggers & work on restabilizing the dog into a stress free home . Also getting a second dog does not equate to "company" as the vet is implying .If the vet is suggesting stress as the issue then a new puppy may be all to much . You need to work out the pros/cons & there are alot of cons that need to be considered .& it isn't far to get a puppy & then find out it wasn't the best option . If you phoned us we as a breeder would tell you all the above before considering selling you a pup as we have to be sure its the right scenario for both dogs . Also keep in mind vets aren't experts in everything ,in fact if they where they should have explained that company may be good but also should be fully aware that other dogs in the house can attack your dog whilst having a seizure .In fact i would expect the vet to have said letting your dog settle into its new routine & monitoring its health for awhile is far more important especially as you have said you where all too busy for the dog so the dog suffered but now have the time to give the Lab a new quality off life & plenty of time. Also given your dogs history i would be inclined to buy local so if things don't work out you have them close by
  23. Rebanne that situation is very common,we have also experienced it
  24. Personally the advice to rush & buy a dog for your Lab is not how it should be done.I would be wanting to make sure the Lab is ready for a friend given its change of circumstances The Aussie Shep show is on in NSW soon ,it would be well worth the effort to attend so all family members can meet the breed . There are plenty of well known Aussie breeders around & making sure all health testing is done is very important .Yes i would expect to see picturees of the parents if buying out of state & all health testing done for each dog . I would be making sure what the return policy is if the dog arrives & isn't what you where expecting ,who pays for the return flights & crate hire,. I would be taken a step back & making sure the right pup is brought into your home not the first one you find
