We have always had multi dogs so its is our normal and we are set up for multi dogs & licensed BUT it comes with alot of extra effort meeting the big age bracket needs, mental enrichment for all, tranquility . 2 is company 3's a crowd is reality especially for people arent willing to sign up for the pack needs

A breed known to be a successful at a job doesnt equate to cant happen . If your wanting people to say it would never happen because its a Maremma no one can .

Barn hunt is a fab event. I saw the Barn hunt national titles in the US . An event all dog owners can compete in & all dogs .

He was just given free range to use them at first & grasped that concept so quick . Im not wanting them out 24/7 but in his case they have been a great brain game for him . He is a bright pup gets bored very quickly but the reaction of the buzzers have made it a real fun thing for him thats not the norm .He is a very "foot" dog that swats, touches, shakes without training so the buttons allowed me to teach a foot & reward game for him that also teaches focus & self control I just got the 4 set to start

I know this is an old post but yes my current pup is being trained to use them & there awesome

Depends on the company some may road transport but that will still cost plus hire crate fee Most breeders/show people n Australia use Baycity,Mooreholme,KCR & a couple of others . I have used those 3 & considerably cheaper than the others & great service

A Cruel inhuman boarding kennel
Dogsfevr replied to Demi shae's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
Take away the lack of care care of the dog i can tell you as a boarding kennel owner we get plenty of owners lie about there dogs medical needs & i cant tell you how many owners of senior dogs would do weekend board & hope it would die or we would have to PTS on there behalf because they were to gutless to do the right thing. We have had dogs brought in just like above & had to refuse boarding them as it was beyond cruel for an owner to even think that was the right path. -
Im gathering its 2 flights from Noosa so that will add to the costs . Try Baycity pet transport they are Qld based & well used & well priced Flying costs went up when covid hit

I have send dog for assessment/evaluation Your words. It sounds like your idea of what you say & what other people think is said is your problem & that you need to have a better form of communication /sales receipt/contract for both parties to fully understand prior to a sale especailly if sending out of state & knowing fully well the costs of transporting . Having said that we dont get to wipe our hands of our responsibilities. & if we end up out of pocket then we suck it up . The microchip papers would be easily solved by reading your State law/animal welfare act on rehomed dogs of each state & the time frame of paperwork needing to be resigned to the person .

Im going to be that person & say it doesnt sound like they need another dog at present . If away alot & a house full of seniors & dont really walk the dogs or get them out & about then no one can suggest a breed that will fit in & be ideal .

Activities to keep my blind dog active.
Dogsfevr replied to Jayrii's topic in General Dog Discussion
I agree with asking if you can watch him at daycare to see whether he's tired because he interacts or tired because he's overwhelmed. We have had blind dogs who adapted very easy and still enjoyed there walks . We had to be there eyes and common sense but as a partnership they still very much enjoyed going out . Scent classes could be a good start . It's also important your not feeling sorry and limiting it's confidence when out n about . Just think of this logically you wake up blind tomorrow it's a massive game changer ,your hearing works overtime, smells are different without sight this is where your dog is at . Teach obedience, give it confidence in knowing commands all these things will be important as he ages anyway -
Some girls dont conceive by AI but do so natural ,some boys semen isnt great for AI but successful natural .

Our rehomes go on trial basis & its expected if the dog doesnt settle to be returned .The trial date is listed start to finish ,the have the right to vet check whilst there & it can be returned at anytime if it does not settle . Paperwork stays in our name until the trial period has been completed & both parties are happy We also would refund the price less any obvious expenses that are clearly outlined in the sales contract . If no obvious expenses then the full amount is refunded . When you say you have sent dog off for evaluation do you mean to a dog trainer . I truly feel for this dog that seems to have bore the brunt of some crappy decisions prior & now by yourself & does sound a little lacking of empathy for how it settles in the future remember this is a living creature not $$$$. Personally i think your choice not to refund is a bad one & you may want to check consumer law on where things actually stand & if your breeder learn about your responsibilities a bit more . If you didnt factor in transport costs if the home didnt turn out then that is a lesson learned for yourself If your truly dog savvy then you would know that some dogs just arent the best fit for some homes especially when you send them out of State ,sending the dog to a trainer to be assessed actually sends red flags for me & with the answer they actually want to keep it , Just curious will you charge the trainer the same price to home this dog .

Ill be honest i dont care if i offend people when i say No because people wont have the same nice fuzzy manner if something doesnt go to plan . Having said that owning showdogs i often have to say no at shows & be nice . Rarely is anyone offended when told No & the ones who are i tend to find are just rude entitled people who think there at the petting Zoo & can do what they want . I will give a reason & i will also let people happily touch the dogs . I see it very easy i am my dogs advocate,im in charge off how an interaction can end & its my job to read the moment & say yes or No for my dogs sake ,sanity & safety . If i dont advocate then i have failed them if something goes horribly wrong . For those who just touch without asking its rare but they get told sternly that thats inappropriate & i will stress not all dogs are equal, breeds have jobs & that you have no idea of a dogs history or even health status aka deaf, blind etc etc . Education a must but i dont suffer fools around my dogs .

Rehoming and saving Freya the rottweiler.
Dogsfevr replied to Enrique's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
A declared dangerous dog in a doggy daycare facility your insurance wouldnt even cover that dog & do the other owners know . This whole post screams so many wrongs especially the fact shes not even wearing the correct collar for her status by law ,not onleash ,dare say not even the correct housing & no sign stating the status of an animal on the fence The Am Staffs body language screams get me out of here & all your worried about is a doing a video to prove what . Your a brave person putting your business details on here breaking so many required laws ,the industry is known for toomany cowboys & this post just ticks all the boxes of why sourcing a good/honest & up to date with laws trainer can be hard. Like it or not this dog has been declared dangerous you have a legal requirement to do all things honestly by the law . -
Do you have an air con & if so how did the dog react to that ??

National Call to Ban Dog Breed After Child Attacked
Dogsfevr replied to Deeds's topic in In The News
No shock . Ive heard so many dumb things at the vets nothing is a OMG moment anymore . It does amaze me how many owners dont respect people in the waiting rooms no matter what animal they have with them . Our vet clinic has a big waiting room & a small fenced corner for owners with dogs that do have issues whether that be behaviour, deaf, blind, reactice fear due to arthritic pain of dogs jumping on them so that is there safe zone chairs well away. I have witnessed people pick up the chairs & move closer so there dogs can play between the fence ,The area is well sign written what its purpose is . You see people blatanly ignoring staff requests for control which honestly proves people are glass half full especially as most waiting rooms have CCTV . -
National Call to Ban Dog Breed After Child Attacked
Dogsfevr replied to Deeds's topic in In The News
Education wont work because Australian dog owners feel a sense of entitlement of the rules dont apply to them whether it be picking their dogs poo up ,keeping their dog onleash or respecting that not every human wants their dog involved in their happenings. We run a dog business . Owners will walk there dogs over to our outdoor furniture to wee up,they let their dogs poo on the lawn & dont pick up even though a bin & bags are provided . We constantly have to remind people to be respectful of personal space & not allowing your dog to just come over . I cant tell you how many times at the vets ive had to tell owners where not at the dog park & to move your dog away from mine & show some respect . Even when i took in one of my very frail seniors i had to deal with dipsh&t owners bringing there puppies over to say hello because there "friendly" & then turn all snowflake offended when you tell them to buggar off & use there brains . I swear those who attned puppy preschools seem to be the worse in thinking the world revolves around there dog being friendly . Then you have the parents who yell to you "My child " is great with dogs dont worry & you can see the little monster has no respect or manners around dogs . I walk my dogs in public wearing a body camera now due to the idiots of the world so yep banning a breed doesnt stop the actions of stupid people -
Hes a puppy still & becoming more confident & willing to push the boundries because thats how we all learn as a species . If walking is your method of happy living its never going to work .You will just have a fitter dog . He needs to be taught the life skills of the house Keeping in mind he is still 7 months . He needs to learn self control,he needs to learn to chill ,he needs brain games that make him think . Mouthing can be sign off over excitement, over stimultaion, anxiety .aka he is frustrated so cant tell you . Naps are important so the crate can be wonderful for defining bed time & quiet time with a kong, snuffle mat ,chew . When in the house you need to teach right from wrong & expect some failures . He can still be walked whilst spayed he just cant go stupid & play make the most of this time to teach focus skills. Sit out the front & reward calm behaviour .Short walks reinforcing focus skills . Also consider your manner of giving instructions & reward sometimes needs to change as they age .You may sound like a broken record to the dog using the same boring voice tone, treats, vocal praise ,switch it up . This is a smart breed BUT any dog will go through this phase of my humans what humans so this is when we need to change or ways ,what worked as puppy when there craving to learn can go out the window when the same style is used. Some dogs at this age want commands & expectations to be very black n white not baby talk or my dog knows this im frustrated we never stop learning & that applies to puppies,to young adults to adult,to senior . Try using que mats so the dog has to do a job for the reward ,teach spin ,walk backwards .Maybe look at the Talking dog buttons on amazon for dog ,i have them for a high activity puppy & he just loves them & outside the boring box of training ,like doing things like fine the food under ice cream containers, butter containers, buckets or anything at home .Fill a box with treats It does sound like you could benefit from some hands on help which is a good thing that you have recognized it & asked early most people dont & thinks get out of hand quickly . I will also add my view on most puppy schools is they teach more of the bad behaviour than life skills behaviour & a 4 week obedience class would have been more talk than actual practical work. I say bad behaviour as most just focus on playtime with other pups, talking about products & do very little on teaching self control & calm is a wonderful skill .Most who attend thos classes go so all about playtime & not the future . Is this a true working bred Kelpie, showlines,BYB ?? What advice has your breeder offered?

Im my dogs advocate if nothing comes out my mouth i have let my dog down badly .If i do nothing i have let my dog down ,its not a puppy thing its a life thing pup, middle age ,senior life & not today . If I say no I expect anyone to accept that and walk away I think people forget at times that when your out with your dog your not on public display your out enjoying your time . My guys are showdogs so put up with anything but my walks are time out from the world

The changes dont sop anything . The main change is a Govt verified agency must ID the chip before bloods drawn . Dogs prior to the date that where told no where then told yes .The choice now is do 30 days or retest (4 months process to do 10 days). Everything is still the same JUST proof of ID before bloods has been ramped up
