Would the breeder be able to look at the coat for you or someone else whos experinced?? Try bathing now & coaing to see if it works but as gunoush said a mars could be helpful to get the crap coat out
-
I would say the dog has chewed there & the length of coat has been altered. certainly at this stage you need to cat & blow dry

I wouldnt sedate a dog for flying unless there where bigger issues

If any training school did on alpha roll on my dog id knock there lights out.The lady with the rotty got what she deserved sadly the dog paid the price ,a situation that shouldnt have happened. We have had pups with no litter mates & with correct training there fine,
-
Anyone who is helping to train should now what there talking about,no wonder handlers are so confused ;) PS if you want to show GSD you cant use haltis LOL so the chain will have to be used as part of the GSD collar
-
A chain used correctly is not a problem ,a head halti used wrongly is just as bad as a chain used incorrectly. Go to a dogshow & see all the dogs on check chains .which come in may forms, shapes & sizes9parachute,snake,fine linked, fur saver etc etc)

Heavon forbid you suggest to someone to roll there dog on there bag & wear gloves so when it bites you have protection. So hes biting badly, when does he bite??during play, what where you doing when he bites??is he snappy when you pick up & touch, brush etc, You need to decide is he biting or mouthing, gnawing hard is associated with teeting so its important to direct puppy to a chew toy instead of hands, also dont encourage they gnawing & then when it gets to the hurt stage decide you,ve had enough & tell pup off,its important not to encouragae a scenrio to allow the pup to think its acceptable until you think its out of control. First rule treat as a dog & ensure your pack leader status is obvious, generally we find people with little dogs ,dont treat them with the respect they deserve because there small, whether it be poodle cross or rottie they all require the same boundries, rules & consistant training .Little doesnt mean you except less. Once the dog is fully vaccinated find a good training class & go,once you learn you will find the pup will learn very quickly & all is great, check the baby teeth to also make sure they are coming out & not making mouthing more than normal to try & get the teeth to come out

We have showdogs so bathed weekly & pee feathered bathed nightly. Our wire coat dogs are bathed before every show as no matter what a dog going to a show should be clean when a judge touches them & a good wirey coat doesnt soften bathed correctly, only goes soft if the coat is wrong

Plucking the ear hair with fingers means your not plucking the problem hair, using this method on schnauzers for example would create big issues as you can not pluck the hair out other than using forceps & used correctly is no problem at all, We have used forceps for 24 yrs nowon our own dogs & in the salon for 14 yrs never doing any damage, infact we get many vets asking us how we do it so well.
-
If the dog has hairy ears which many shih tzus do then it is bette the ears are plucked so the air can get in. We pluck dogs ears in our salon & the best tool is locking forceps, not tweezers or your fingers
-
Never use water to clean out ears. We use leo or the malasab, the leo is great for maintence of good ears as its drying. If puppy pre school is telling people to use water it sounds like theyll be getting some good business for ear infections
-
would never ever use it
-
I would be concerned about bloat i would be going back to the vets asap

As you would now to much chicken isnt great as it has no iron so unless you are supplementing or given another source of food with it you will have a sick dog down the track. Royal canin is great but extremely expensive for a big bag especially the specialty ones. Mind you no point spending etxra on food if the snacks are still going to be feed to him, stop the snacks & the weight will come off
-
I agree the quicker you get the coat out the quicker the new coat will come through,i think a naked sibe looks better than one that obvioulsy looks like it needs a good strip through.
-
It certainly is used & usually as a stand bye to hopefully give extra time. People i new had big snake issues & they tried this method with there vet & had a 50/50 success rate depending on the snake & obviously how quickly it was given. Alot of the retrieving people do carry at all trials

The breeder you got it from is well known & has a relative that posts here ,just contact them & ask them about a diet plan, its always nicer to speak with the breeder.
-
yes the breeder should have given you a puppy diet sheet to go through the age stages until 12 months. If they havent you need to contact them to atleast get an idea of what they have been feeding it & go from there. Each breed is different & some breeds have food groups which cant be given. He will need 3 balanced meals for a large breed puppy. Find out & tells us how you go
-
you can give additives to help the colour but if it isnt a strong choc to start of with it will fade quicker, sadly sun & water bleaches the coat very quickly, the same as black coats & reds

What Would Cause You To Change Vets?
Dogsfevr replied to KitKat's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I think you have 2 choices *try another vet & hope there good *tell the vets you go to that your not interested in being pushed with pet insurance or any other product other medication for treatments, tell them you are seriously considering changing vets as you are feed up with walking through the door & being harrasses that you go there for good vet treatment not a sales pitch . A good vet is always worthy to stick with & being upfront will make your visits more pleasant -
Be patient & be far,he went from his littermates to sleeping in the house for 3 days & then to sleeping outside,i dare sayat present hes confused . Whilst most people say i play with my dog for so many hrs most dogs dont care about that ,most dogs are just happy to have touch time, see you time & quality time. There is no reasons for you to have problems being a house dog if trained correctly . I dare say all this pup is looking for at present is reassurance that some form of life form exists. Personally i like my dogs to have the best of both worlds that being inside/outside & find they adjust well to outside when they now there routine is to come in when we are home etc. Basically give the pup a chance to settle talk to the neighbours & ask them to inform you of any noise & go from there. Personally our dogs are sold to homes where they will be inside. As to 2 we sell many pups as 2 or have people buying another in the early stages ,it isnt hardwork nor do the dogs bond any differently but the most important thing to remember is you dont get another just to solve a problem you gat another because your committed to 2 pups otherwise just work with the 1 & in a few weeks all will be fine

Some think barf is gods gift others find something that works well for there dogs, quite frankly i dont give a s*** what you feed as long as the dog is feed,is happy & looks healthy that is all that matters. I feed a premiun brand plus other bits & pieces & i dare say my dogs are in good a nick as any barf feed dog if not better. I now there are some foods i will not eat no matter what why should the dog be any different? It seems people feel because there a dog they should eat whatever is put in there bowl.Yes some dogs are fussy eaters & you dont pamper to there needs but other dogs are great eaters but wont eat some things. Until someone can prove to me that a barf feed dog lives longer & is far more superior in condition to my dogs i have no intentions of changing my wy of feeding which my dogs are more than happy to eat Dont feel guilty if you feed something else you now your dog & if your happy & hes happy then enjoy your days with your dog

one speed is better ,we have oster & no probs ,blade selection depends on the breed, coat type & condition

Because twin tanks hold less water ,they are more hassle & the concept doesnt always work. When it comes to hydrobathing you will learn very quickly that time isnt a factor. Our hydrobath has doors both ends(old one didnt) this is much easier on dogs that are to big or to elderly to turn around with out injury risk, or when the bath is in a confined area where space is a little smaller for the dog to get out,90% of dogs dont just jump in & the ones that do often are very reluctant to turn around & come out, when equating to time it can take longer to get 1 dog in/out a hydrobath than change the water. The most important thing in a hydrobath is is it user friendly, is it dog friendly & will it be easier on my back than another model type, many hydrobaths are 1 style fits all but are often not as comfy to use. Our old one had 1 door & no cut in ,our current 1 has 2 doors & a cut in for when you get smaller dogs or dogs that are very frantic you can get a better grip, even though we have anchor points a dog that hates the bath will try to get out no matter what I will be honest & say the etxra you paid for twin tub would have been better spent on a dryer as this is the one thing that saves time & impresses clients when the bathed dog can be dryed aswell(can charge etxra)
