Walking just makes him fitter . You need to do brain games but also start teaching self control / off switch . We board a few working Springers who live in the burbs and do no work they where bred for but there owners create brain games ,if they don’t they go bonkers and no fun to live with ,some are higher drive than others . Hiding eggs,rewardable objects . walks aren’t about getting fitter or wearing them out as it won’t happen,walks are turned into adventures . Many working Cockers compete in agility and do tracking . You just need to be creative

Dont you believe it & you wont always be there with a hose .2 Females who decide to have it on will not care how cold the hose is . Your girls are young & this is manageable .Chances are its the Kelpie pushing the buttons but if the Wolfhound decides the bear has poked one too many times then the Kelpie wont stand a chance . You own the backyard not the dogs .

I agree with Rebanne , I would simply place pup in the crate in your room & set up a sleeping plan. Keep building the pups self control & independence skills during the day & once more settled wean into the desired area you want the dog to sleep . Keep in mind the more you make the pup reliant on you for all activities the more it needs its human through no fault off its own . The cat is going to have to learn to cope with the pup anyway unless your intention is for the dog to be an outside dog & the cat an inside animal ?? I also wouldn't be feeding dinner so late . Here we do things differently especially with puppies if you want them to sleep away from you . You are creating "its all about me time"from 7/10.30 pm & then its good night into the laundry often a cold,warm & prison like feeling room . The pups moment cut off & finished . The pups here we sleep in the the bedroom or the family room in there crates until they are ready for adult privileges. Pre bedtime if we don't want them in an area they are weaned to switch off,human time now limited . The same applies if crated in the room ,its door shut bedtime . So you need to ask yourself what is the adult plan for sleeping ,its coming into the warmer weather so a good time to readjust & educate before winter next year . Puppy class can be your best friend or your worst enemy .not all are the same or teach you the right life skills to set your pup up . How is puppy walking onleash,Does puppy enjoy being brushed regularly.What involvement do the other family members have? What are your expectations for the long term with your dog & what you want to do /enjoy

Classic age for girls to rule the roost & decide the chain of importance ,could also be something else. If your really concerned better to seek a good trainer who can come to your home & watch the pack dynamics so you can learn to manage what is going on correctly or create a safe set up for when not home . Sometimes if a dog is showing other issues checking for thyroid problems in a dog showing changes is a good start to rule anything out there .

It may take time but his whole routine has changed and most likely toileting midday very normal whilst you are home or he had free access to get outside ,now he doesn’t have the access or the person to let him out . It could stress related pooing knowing he can’t get out

Don’t be pushed and it sounds like you need to sort things out sooner than later . If you do decide to take her be very careful on agreeing to any deals such as wanting to visit the dog or take it out for the day and yes people do at times expect you to be the Good Samaritan whilst those involved take advantage

Don’t get suck into the guilt of the pound . Dont be fooled into thinking this person won’t dump the dog . There comes a point where there communication should be regular with you on how things are going so don’t get used . It Sounds like being a 1 dog household is the best fit for you and there is no reason to feel guilty . This dog sounds easily rehomable if that ends up the case the question the owner needs to face up too is are they making the effort or are they using you with no end result . Ideally for the dogs sake if he doesn’t want her back then she needs a home . in which case there are great rescue groups ,if bred by a breeder they will happily help in rehoming ,there is Staffy rescue . The pound will only occur if dumped there .. If you wish to do the rehoming get all the paperwork from him that includes the microchip name change etc I

Our girl got 3 months more after diagnosis ,We opted for the pain meds & enjoy each day BUT trust me you will now when its time & its better a day sooner than a day too late . For our girl her pain got worse quickly,she struggled to keep warm even though a heatwave & her enjoyment of life clearly sucked out of her so we never regretted making the decision sooner than later .Our memories of her in her final stages where still pleasant ones & she left with dignity & respect a very special gift we could give her . Make the most of the healthy time sooner than later so if you want photos at special places go for it now. My suggestion if you haven't already thought about it is what your plans are when the time comes. Cremation,burying in a spot ? Do you want to be there when the time comes (there is no right or wrong answer here because everyone can/cant deal with last moments the same) Would you prefer at home final wings or going to the vet . Having a plan where everyone is in agreement can really make the time easier when it happens

Great motto BUT those who posted had there priorities right & that was the dog not the humans who may have been offended being told the vet was the only safe answer . You posted in a pet section where the general knowledge of this area is zilch,those of us who did reply with the only concern being a bitch "who " may be pregnant because they never saw a mating ,could be 63 days based on no actual mating date & owners who have no experience & no one who has actually seen the dog to give a safe answer . If we had all replied just wait a few more days & she was pregnant & in trouble bitch could suffered a worse fate so i can happily live with replying blunt & to the point than the follow up post being owners waited it out & bitch dead we shoulda have gone to the vet . Planning on a litter isn't a mistake ,the actions we take or don't take afterwards is the mistake . They have been very lucky many other bitches aren't .

Even if you think of keeping het start a conversation with them about the time frame stage there at for collecting Easy to bring up with Christmas coming up and your plans just wondering what there’s are. Are they paying for you to care for her,have they visited at all . Is she spayed .?If not when is she due in season. Has she had her adult booster ?If not bring this up as a topic of being her temp caregiver and going out n about just making sure she has that booster is important too you ,making sure you aren’t dumped with all these things after. Get in in writing not phone calls ,if you get no response or feel they may not collect her then have that convo . She needs to have a future too and you should absolutely think about your own dog and whether you want to be a 2 dog family .

Don't need a bright vet to do an ultrasound ,most in a clinic that offer the service can could have done it so there choice to either use that as an excuse or not want to pay money . They have also opted not to go after the vet returned off holidays . The only advice is they sit there & hope she isn't or they make the effort to get the the vet & pay the money to check. Not sure what advice you want people to give in a situation that no one can give a safe answer . There not even sure if they mated so this is an unknown & as they don't know if she mated they actually wouldn't know what day she is or even when correctly due as he could have humped her for how long . They want to be a breeder then go get the right answer its that simple

They are pest over there so hunting them is normal due to the damage they do . There very popular in the USA and Europe ,If you want one you will need to import and it won’t be cheap due to the age requirements before leaving . Plenty of awesome FB groups relating to the breed to do your homework

The drip is important if you plan is to keep her going and for to have some quality at this critical time .Hydration and flushing out important is very important . I wouldn’t be going ahead with the dental Friday but everyone is different . Have you considered CBD oil can help stimulate appetite and help with pain. Also warming food up, adding Tuna

Most Keeshond aren’t quite so I think they need to factor your effort in making your dog who it is but my first thought was a Norwegian Elkhound

Personally I think you could still put it in something .i take empty stomach as not after a meal or feed in a meal . Otherwise keep with the technique your using except we push way back and blow into its mouth to swallow

I always leave water in the crate and when we raise our litters they have water 24/7 . pups shouldn’t be expected to go with out ,if feed biscuits late it will make them thirsty and I don’t want water gullets in the morning . Limit the quantity but continue with what pup has been use too . As for wormers many of the reasons mentioned or a change of product is required .

At her age she shouldn’t be showing signs of slowing down so to me that is showing signs of pain. problem you have is by giving pain meds to see if she’s happier doesn’t alert you to what is wrong . Your dog may not have hip issues but could have muscle soreness that can still cause significant distress and finding the best product or treatments is based on eliminating the obvious .It may not be the hips but the elbows for example as dogs like humans change there body posture to accommodate. So looking at the dogs nails as to how there being worn down,any skin roughness on the feet due to altered gait as these can assist as to whether more wear n tear is one sided or both Most vets wont just prescribe to see . I

In the end though the only way to know is x rays and that will allow you to decide on a future path with correct exercise. Showing signs at 2 is an issue if it’s affecting your dog already . Supplements may help but if the dog is in pain that needs to be addressed .

You also need to appreciate dogs dont need love by you being touchy/feely/huggy many working breeds often have a ring of space they place around themselves & when you push what you want they shut down. For many dogs you just being there & acknowledging there existence makes them happy . The dog is old most likely hearing loss,vision & aches & pains where having people too close is intimidating to an old dog,even there smell starts to go so there ability to be "in control" is taken from them

There are some good breeders in Melbourne . There not the breed for everyone so a good breeder will be honest about the cons before the pros . If you are a truly active person happy to train they are an awesome breed
