With our pups if any one gets it we pay for it to be fixed at spaying it is condidtion it is fixed although only get one in a blue moon If it is a severe hernia dogs have died or certainly had to have emergency surgery,Actually know of quite a few dogs where this has happened & the worse part is the owners have come home from work to find there dog in all sorts of trouble

I would suggest going back to feeding the diet the breeder recommend & see what happens,you may find its the Nutro you have introduced & between that food change & settling its a bit much espeaicially when you stressing over it. You may like nutro better but you truley need to give the pup a chance to settle in its new home with a diet that its familiar with . The firs thing i would have experimented with was feeding the original diet & seeing how she ate especially before going to the vets,if she eats all the original diet then go back to basics & get her settled agian & then introduce a slight change for one meal only for a few weeks then build it up slowly to a full change

" They get walked /run at least 3 times a day." Do they not have free access outside during the day ?? Leaving the paper down is just encouraging the pup to toilet.It has been trained to use the paper & its still being used so to the dog it means toilet there its totally acceptable.

I too would be concerned with 15 kg unless its larger than normal beagle. Yep pup should/coulda have been out & about after 3 months

If the dog is going to a grooming salon it will be trimmed & nails cut,trimming nails must be done regulary to keep them short or the blood vessels grow longer & they cant get cut short enough.Trimming the bottoma area if done well can look very nice & blended

I guess the firs question would be what are you hoping to learn from the course & are you wanting to become a groomer or just do your own dogs. This can also assist in help

What is the dog being feed now?/was it over weight prior to the injury or is thise weight gain due to the injury?? If the dog was doing well on the diet prior then quantity & modifications may work well,obvioulsy no treats aswell

Have had a dog on it & get alot of dogs in boarding on it & not one has experienced that . I do agree though the frothing & that sounds like heart failure. My boy was a large breed & quite severe in his condition & the key was to make sure he exercised & wasnt allowed to just lay around.Being a giant breed make sure the dog is made to go out ,small walks etc etc. As for urinating get some dry bed,if the dog does pee it wont be laying it & absord in the bedding.

I would ask the groomer what blade they clip his back with.We will only use a #7 on a westie back,those that are done with #10 or #15 semm to end up with more issues,also what does the groomer bath him in??

Big fan of selsun blue & its great for double coated breeds.Would use that over any dog /vet line anyday. Also how is it groomed is it clipped back short?? We groom alot of westies & board a stack to. We find the ones with issues arent getting a good diet of essiental fatty acids, are clipped very short & seem much more prone to irritaitions . Are you using any new spot on products?? What diet was it feed prior to the skin issues,what have you changed (food,house, etc etc))

When i went to buy Bonnie the other day the working dog now says real red meats,no mention of Kangaroo like the past bags. I didnt buy the bag as i didnt have the time to read the ingredients & the adult is also suitabel so brought that

minis are very clean dogs & depending on what this girls routine was prior to you getting her i would say 4 times is normal. Does she have access outside or is she reliant on you to let her out?? Was she a kennel dog or someones pet prior to you?? When shes out do you stand there or encourgae her,do you say anything,how long do you wait etc etc??

6months is a great age but given the circumstances of being under nourished etc i would play it by ear,if you feel the dog is really thriving then go at 6 months if you feel an extra month or so will mean his condition is better then weight

The fact is deep chested doesnt mean bloat any breed is prone to it .

.Reality is some Boxers males to machoness to the extreme & that can be a nightmare & i dare say any good Boxer breeder would also confirm this. Any resposnable pet owner should desex there any sex ,i wouldnt wait till 12/14 months as by then they have become what your trying to stop,6/9 months is a good age. There is some thoughts it can affect growth but im yet to see any dog affected by it. Was the pup brought from a breeder with conditions to be desexed??(i now you say it was given to you but where did they get it from originally ) Tell the males that dogs arent people & unless they plan to check the dogs nuts every month for changes (cancer etc) which i can guarantee they wont then get the chop ,its cheaper council rego,lowers health risks,behaviour traits(peeing in house or genearlly marking anyhing),lowers the male attitude especially if there are kids involved who want to walk/control the dog. I have handled male boxers in the ring & there not laid back,i found in the right scenario they most certainlyCOULd emphasis could be very fiesty (male testorone at its best)

Is the dogs face clipped regulary of his it very hairy?? If your truley concerned see an eye specialist who will give you a documented diagnosis & then your concerns will either be nothing or something. All dogs get sleep around there eyes just like humans & often dog owners do not maintain the eyes properly & if allowed to build up can create sores,irritaian etc etc we see it alot on dogs we groom to the point many are raw as there not cleaned regurlary.

Our scissors go to the professionals who dont just sharpen but ensure the aligned properly & the tension is right

We suggest leftovers are feed with caution to our puppy owners. Some breeds tolerate certain meats etc better than other breeds/dogs can. We dont feed or use or recommend pasta to our puppy owners.Whilst they may be small portions they can be a cause of skin allergies due to the ingredients. Pork would give our dogs the runs. Airedales are a double coated breed so they need a good diet high in essiental fatty acids,poor diets in a double coated breed (stripped coats)can lead to all sorts of skin issues .

Go back to basics,something isnt clicking .Deny access to bedrooms(shut the doors) ,It is obviously a habit but it may be due to a stress issue,bladder control(have you had her urine tested) As to washing her & that ending her career why .There is no reason for more coat maintance to end a show career

To be honest the good old rubber hand mitt from Big W would do a better job than that brush .There are many brushes out there but many arent suitable . Agree with Miranda though the dog doesnt hate being brushed as such its just ruling the roost,setting his rules & your lower down in the respect. You need to be firm but caring,either use a table or just get a good grip with the collar & wipe over.You can practise this action with a damp chamois cloth(will remove coat) & get the confidience of both in grooming. Your pups coat will be changing from summer to winter but when it blows it sheds like made

I have to say i find the recommended diet of purina beniful a weird one especially for a giant breed?? What else did they suggest to feed as i wouldnt consider that product to be suitable for any giant breed ??

Not all dogs are kennel dogs & some of the kennels are just not for all dogs.Some smell like plastic,when its raining they can be very noisey,they can be airless & some dogs feel claustraphobic in them. Simply put i would also be providing more stable type of shelter just look at as if you where camping & your little tent got flooded it was cold,damp & unpleasant. I wouldnt be locking a dog into something it doesnt accept unless it was a crate in the house for night time sleeping. So im presuming the kennel is out in the elements except for the tarp over the top?? There isnt a patio,garage or another area the kennel can be placed thats more weather friendly ?? Otherwise i would be making a more suitable shelter wher he can be out of the elements & can sleep on a trampoline bed or go into the kennel.

If bloat is in the lines it wont matter what she feeds but she also needs to be aware that the stress she is now placing on this dog by worrying over its diet is a receipe for bloat again.She is heart broken which is very understandable but this dog has also lost its mate & needs a stable routine that is normal to it Changing the diet will also cause extra stress so she seriously needs to relax & not create a bigger problem by changing the only dogs routine. Not feeding kibble doesnt mean no bloat it will .
