We have/are using it with no issues but ofcourse every dog is different
-
"I've never contacted the breeder about this matter because I'm not a full-on serious show person..." Whether your serious or not doesnt matter .its always nice to hear if there are any issues when you sell a pup & nicer to hear from the owner not a judge or someone else. I doubt the breeder will say not show it BUT if some judges decide to no award & the breeder hears about it they might be very concerned as to why

Some of you are being ripped off thats all i can say.
-
The thing to remember is gluco doesnt have to be gioven once the trouble hits. All my large dogs get it from pup stage

How does your PBGV carry his tail. Many dogs showen ha=ve sustained tail damage but whether it affects the way the tail sits or they way they carry there tail is another thing & how bad the kink is. What did has your breeder said??

Dogsfevr replied to rivergem's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
If he has HD it will show up on the x rays.Personally i wouldnt be changing diet for no good reason. We have rayed a 9 month old due to concerns & all was fine, for what it costed it was easier to now what was happening plus we always use Bowen. Have you contacted the breeder>> They may suggest a vet who has more experience in this area (hd etc) -
Possible Dengenerative Myelopathy? Hip Dysplasia?
Dogsfevr replied to rivergem's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Very simple x ray the hips & see where things stand -
we had a dog that ended up with severely blocked tear ducts which created all sorts of issues. She had surgery to re direct her tear ducts through her noise & it was the best thing we ever did
-
we have used it with no issues but common sense is all drugs have some form of side effects & for some animals/humans it can be minor to major. We are very funny when it comes to meds & like to know all the ins & outs & any alternatives & i do wish vets would inform clients of what to watch for after all its not like they give the fact sheet with these drugs

How Long To Take Off Work When You Have A New Puppy?
Dogsfevr replied to jeddica's topic in Puppy Chat
When our pups leave they must either go early sat morning if people work & they must committ themesleves to the pup. If someone is home then pups can go when there ready(mid week). Some people are lucky & have friends/family members who will pop in,some can pop home during lunch & others do take time off often due to there being other dogs already there but many people dont take time off & just work there feeding schedule around the pup. Its a hard call . Given mallie pups are certainly alot sturdier when coming home you may fined you dont need time off but as its coming into winter make sure the outside area is ready for the pups protection -
If she isnt that dirty then just do a hot towel bath. Get a bucket & put a little shampoo in.then the towel.Ring the excess water out so there is ideally none dripping & place towle around her & wipe down

Not only the health issues the injections cost far more than the monthly tablets. Here the going rate is about $127 for the heartworm jab

We will bath & blowdry long coats BUT for that service only it must be knot free

Used double K for 17 years 5/6 days aweek & dont get any pain at all
-
odd diet for a large breed & growing pup. Wheatbix has no value at all. We feed dry plus raw
-
What diet did your breeder suggest ??
-
double K may be expensive but work a treat on OES etc etc. Thats all we use in the salon & it would do my head in using the other clippers to do OES,spoodles, labraddodles etc etc. Havent used horse ones but if the powre is stronger then they could well be the better cheaper alternative
-
scrape the puppy milk.Yoour pup doesnt need it at this age. If your pup isnt eating well weight loss will happen very quickly. You dont want them over weight but growing pups do need there fuel to grow. Did you continue with the breeders diet or did you change it??

The hair roller works very well
-
Goodluck . Whilst healing you can try placing a hair roller on the end & wrapping it,even wrapping the end with vet wrap. The biggest problem is the constant bruising & damage. In our first show grey the damage in the end resulted in a few inches being removed. One of my setters many moons ago also damaged his tail but it was decided through our vet & ourselves to leave it as it wasnt causing him distress but the end was dead, black & in reality could have snapped off but it didnt. It no longer bleed so it was best he keeped damaging that area unless it was seen to cause him distress

We dont sye but do styling through to clip offs .We also specialize in breed specifics clips & handstripping (within reason)

Grooming A Schnauzer..
Dogsfevr replied to Gerda the Schnauzer's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Having said though your breeder may clip your pup up before leaving. We clip all our minis before they go to there homes so best to discuss what you want with your breeder. All our puppy owners get asked & it explained to them -
Grooming A Schnauzer..
Dogsfevr replied to Gerda the Schnauzer's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
It really depends on you & your dogs coat. The greater majority of std schnauzers have very breed true correct coats & are infact very easy to roll(not stripped out fully). If the pup does havea good coat & with some basic tools you could work on it & have the harsh coat & all the groomer needs to do is the feet, throat, bum & ears & a good strip through if they have the right tools. If you worked on the coat it would be 10 mins weekly. If your pup hasa soft coat then clip Your breeder should be able to inform you on your dogs coat . We clip some stds but most we actually roll there coats . When clipped most stds can still retain there harsh coat. When clipped though others will end up with a very soft top coat & it will lighten the colour. Clipping has no health effect on a schnauzer its purely what you want to do & the coat but stds often have very easy coats to work on. Infact we groomed our regular rolled coat std yesterday & all finished (feet etc etc) 1.5 hrs but the owners do the bulk of the work & we simpy do the finishing touches -
Matts Matts Matts...aarrgghh!
Dogsfevr replied to Stewie_the_Frenchie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
"However, I would recommend getting as many matts out as possible yourself before heading to a groomer, I doubt any groomer would put in the same amount of time an owner would put in." Double coats does not mean knots & i would presume if you could have got the knots out yourself you wouldnt have seeked the service of a groomer in the first place. As for a groomer putting the same amount of time in where the ones who get the job BECAUSE the owners didnt put the time in. Getting knots out hurts like buggery & thats why the owners wont do it yet they expect there dogs to enjoy the experience
