  1. This isnt actually something abnormal. Dogs have worn braces to fix dental issues just like us humans BUT it would want to be a severe issue before heading done this path.It is very expensive & i believe doesnt always guarantee a result. Many Bullies have bad bites ,its a problem with the breed that frustrates many an ethical breeder . Have you taken the pup back to the breeder for there opinion or just the dentist?? What issue has the vet diagnosed that this is the avenue they are considering .Are the teeth affecting the gums??
  2. Hydrobaths last as long as you allow them. With hot spots though alot has to do with the dogs diet.Did the vet change your dogs diet aswell?? We have one & woldnt be without it BUT we use it every day so we get our moneys worth from it. Check the classifieds below for second hand hydros.
  3. Here it gets syringe. We dont stuff around they can go down hill too quickly. We will mix lectade & water or if thats not avaialable any other prouduct as a filler.
  4. We have a vet here that has a flash website on how to start your breeding business. ;) We are very offay with the stock they have breed & the poor owners who have brought "thinking its a vet we trust them"
  5. I actually now people who wash there hair in plush puppy products so people do use dog stuff. Not all human stuff contains silicone & i have never known any person to burn there dog using human stuff so i would be very curious as to what they actually used as there is no way to apply incorrectly whether dog or human .If there idiots i imagine maybe there is more too it . Also look at it this way its only been in the last few years that all these dog products have appeared many moons ago it was the human stuff. Not all the dog stuff has ingred on it & some are so harsh i wouldnt apply it to any of my dogs . I could list more people that use human stuff worldwide than dog stuff.
  6. I look at it this way if im seeing a doctor i ask questions. If im seeing a vet i ask questions.I want o now what is the benefit what is the risk ,if im not sure i will ask for the product leaflet to take home & read or google the drug. If its life or death then thats a whole different ball game but for non emergencies i would sooner pay to consult fees than have major issues afterwards These are drugs & as such carry risks that OWNERS should be asking questions. It is amazing how many people have no idea what meds there dogs are on & really what for?? They simply pay the bill come home & give it. "..Does your Vet ask you whether you use this Flea/Tick product before administering this ANNUAL heart worm injection?" Oh man this question is a doozy. We see it weekly clients whose dogs have had the injection yet the owners are still using products that do heartworm .Why because they had no clue what there vet gave there dog nor even read there receipt until we inform them. "My local vet has been terrific in treating my 3 dogs so that's why I'm shocked they wouldn't discuss a well know risk with me." Did they suggest the injection to you or did you ask them?? For the easy convience what do they charge you $100 plus?? each dog. We see reciepts from clients who have paid $130 plus for the heartworm vacc plus still using flea/tick products.A very expensive waste of money. Then you have the vets who give C7 vaccs to dogs that will never ever be at risk yet that vacc can have side effects. Just google heartworm vacc & there will be plenty of info there
  7. "THis different behaviour started after a week on the Hills. I suspect any premium food may do this as well ( if the actual problem is quantity)" Not really its finding the right diet & right portions for each dog. If what it was feed before it was happy one & thriving then i dont see any reason to change except the portion size & then either add sashas blend, joint guard, gluco etc etc.
  8. 25 years of using human stuff & never a problem. My showdogs are done twice weekly maintance, pee feathers nightly & then show baths . We would never use tea tree based as dogs can react but as said everyone has different views but most of it is vet business
  9. The show people blow dry there dogs .Fluffing the coat out & a good brush through ensures no matts. As for a clip its simply comes down to you whether you want an easy maintance coat or more coat & the coat your dog has. Shampoo is an individual dog thing .We use heads n shoulders or pantene.
  10. Depends what you are after.Show /pet??
  11. Dont now of any dog thats happy to eat the hills vet range LOL.' the range is woeful & has been known to caue issues in my breed over a certain age if a full history isnt known. Plus the fact Hills still use Ethoxiquin in some of the fange like the T/D
  12. yep hills is expensive rubbish.Personally if it was my dogs i would be going back to the original diet & see what happens & supplementing with a product that will most likley do more good.
  13. Its called your a holder ,a convient way of eating a bone, beefhide or what ever. Just be aware of this if people come around though & also still make sure the dog is taught the object can be taken safely & returned .Whilst its nice it still doesnt guarantee you safety unless taught
  14. ". She still gave him heatworm injection and C5 without asking" Did you pay for the Heartworm jab?? What injection did you book the dog in for or tell the vet before it was given.??
  15. Yep always done the same day & most owners also choice to do it that way so its a cheaper visit. I am amazed how many pet owners actually dont make themselves aware of the drugs they give there dogs or even ask questions before the vets give it.
  16. I would suggest if you dont now the grass type to take a sample to your local nursery & ask them what it is for referance
  17. Tuckertime is a fantastic product & all our pups & older dogs receive. Which variety are you using?? What diet did the breeder suggest & have you contacted them regarding your problems?? How often has she been in the car & where have these journies been too?? I would also consider your pup may get car sick so would suggest using a travel calm tablet(ginger) before any trip. Also consider covering the crate. I for example feel awful if in a car without sunglasses . I would also do the slow & steady method.Even if on lead just walking around the car whilst one, simply sitting in it whilst on .Just be patient.many dogs do hate cars & your pup may never be perfect but what you need to achieve is a more relaxed child. As for eating did the vet have a look?? Things like bad tonsils can put a dog of eating. Teething
  18. Dogs can react to some carpets although more react to the carpet powders many place on the carpet before vacuming.. From what you have said its sounds like this home just aint for your boy & hopefully when you move things will improve
  19. I dare say its whats in your garden. What grass do you have. What sort of floor surface do you have in the house?? What is the main difference your dog comes in contact with daily compared to where you lived before?? What was feed feed before moving here??
  20. At meal times has he been feed already?? Has he been previously given food from the table??
  21. We monthly heartworm here aswell.Worm when necessary & the only time i use a flea product is when i fly east & thats simply due to not knowing what the other passengers have(we seem to travel with lots of cats) Otherwise we dont use any flea/tick stuff simply just in case. Our puppy owners are told which products we trust & suggest & also point out if they choice another product on the vets advice/sales shop/pet shop we cannot guarantee what may happen & its at there own risk. We did for many years use daily with no probs at all & also infrom our puppy owners that daily is perfectly fine . When you run boarding kennels its very enlightening in what vets suggest & give clients dogs without talking to them about it.Most people literally have no clue what there vet has given the dog
  22. Double K here . But friends have the moser cordless & they where nice to use
  23. Yep obedience time.Barking can be normal but undesirable. Instead going for walks go back basics & start lead training again
  24. Id say its the harness. The harness can rub & pull on the hair & be very uncomfy for a dog besides they also cause knots on coated breeds. Some of the harness also dont sit well & with the pulling could alos bruise areas under the skin Your pup is 12 weeks he doesnt get to decide what he likes to wear & i would be training the pup to like his collar for walks
