  1. You can give it cold or warm, With our pups the night time is warm at other times the chill is taken out.
  2. yep defiantely 4 smalls meals. We use to feed Bonnie through the kennels but found it just wasnt the product it use to be.too many poops & hard to maintain weight. We use puppy tins & have no issues, its good for breaking up meals. We use either eagle pack puppy tins or the pedigree naturals. The one thing is though dont rush to feed up,do it slowly & steadily otherwise you will end up with a pup that has the runs. Getting the weight on will take time. Like others some chicken mince, mutton mince, chicken necks, lamb flaps all in moderation . The dry is up to you but i would be more inclined to feed a better quality given the age & lack of nutrition. Supercoat would be below the bonnie due to its ingredients I personally would buy the floramax or similiar tabs from the chemist to help realign the good gut bacteria(better than yoghurt) I am presuming the pup has been wormed as well?? We also use goats milk.some will say theres no need but our pups love it & they get there goats milk & farex as a filler especially before bed.
  3. What does the breeder recommend. You should be following there diet chart & changing gradually if you wish.Discuss all diet needs with them at first. If there a good breeder there diet will be worth its weight in gold
  4. You shouldnt make Big deal leaving or returning. As for mouthing what you allow now sets the dog up for life.I have gundogs that will mouth so i work with them & they are allowed on my terms BUT you must decide what is cute now wont be in 6months latter & it will be harder to retrain what is so easy at this age. Also malts as far as grooming goes(i groom for a living) are well known for being snappy if they feel like it simply because people feel there sute, fluufy & to young to be taught but those little mouths can do damage The best advice though. You have brought a dog,Treat it like a dog & you will have a wonderful pet.treat it like a small white fluffy with no boundries & you will have a monster. This dog is no different to a GSD,Rottie its just smaller
  5. It is very easy.either doit on bath day or grab a damp cloth & squeeze. All done in 5 secs . It is so easy it isnt funny & $60 charged by a vet is ludicrous . If you dont want to.phone the grooming salonsin your area & mosr will do them for $5-10
  6. Your a canine member arent you?? Then you get 10% off at better pets for everything
  7. I certainly now of dogs who have had there spleens removed with no issues at all.One was a dog i bred ,his was removed at about ten years & he passed last year at nearly 16
  8. As said already different coats different results. Also how the user uses the products makes a massive difference. What have you tried already, them we will no what you didnt like
  9. All our dogs are crate trained as there showdogs but even if not shown a crate trained pup/dog is so convenient . Size depends on whether you want to always use it.Just buy a big one & you can divide it off or allow the whole access. Brush wise a soft slicker is no issues at this age & far better than a bristle brush which wont really remove any coat although i would hold off & ask your breeder, We show our puppy buyers what grooming tools to buy or we buy them for them ready for when pup leaves. If you talking to your breeder or heading around ask them what to buy otherwise what till you pick the pup up as there will be no rush to brush asap & better to purchase the right tools. If you do go with a slicker buy the size for an adult but make sure its a soft one.You should be able to run it down your arm without scratching. The lawrence ever gentle is great. An undercoat rake will be a must & a combo comb
  10. google plus read the brochure in the box. All dogs are different but sometimes you have to weigh up the being healthy to the pain if this is being prescribed. What other things have you used ?
  11. Why not try turkey necks first, there easy to buy. Ours react as there to fatty.
  12. My stuff up.There certainly not barkers
  13. Who told you that irish setters are barkers or the 12 i have owned are all freaks. Mine have a acre to run & would be lucky to use all off it on any given day.,they prefer to sit in the house & veg out
  14. Personally i wouldnt be getting a dog that at anytime i may have to rehome. Not fair on the dog no matter what breed. If you take the risk then only you now if your prepared every day to meet the needs of a Lab that will be living in a small area.
  15. Did she come from a registered breeder? I hope not. Sadly minis are being over run by BYB ,puppy farmers & pet owners having one off litters. Its very sad seeing this happen to our breed
  16. Minis are very much people dogs & usually adapt very well to there new home but how they adjust also depends on the breeder & how they have raised there pups. Your puppy is doing normal things although maybe moreon the extreme side BUT owning a puppy wont get any easier for the next 6 months. Minis are very quick learners & very adaptable so stick to an easy routine. The pen needs to have a comfy bed, a good non spill bowl, couple of safe toys .If you get on with your neighbours let them now you have new pup & it may be vocal during the day. Many of our new mini owners dont get time off work either ,it isnt always possible & people work around it the bets possible,In an ideal world it would be better . Work out your feed routine before work & dont leave to much food down as Minis are giant pigs & will happily over eat. Leaving the radio on is a good idea & deadly silence can be very overwhelming If you want more assistance there is a schnauzer thread in the breed pages
  17. Cant help except to say we have been in the same pickle of making a decision that either way makes you feel guilty but no decision will make you a lesser owner. Make the decision with your head & not your heart & sometimes that decision is the tougher one. You seem to have the right head on at the moment & thinking of the dog & the recovery & benefit process.
  18. It is now called cleanaural but i dont think you can buy it here, you can get it sent out from overseas though. We used it for years
  19. Mouths OMG be a groomer & have barf bucket handy .There right at face level Yep the owners ay yeah there has been a slight smell
  20. will the pup have access to the courtyard in future?? I wouldnt be going to the park but if there is an area that is grassed & you can carry to toilet & return i would be using this method. Pee pads mean nothing to a dog & really if its going to be trained to toilet inside i would buy the false grass system
  21. First thing is you need to right down what your hubby does every time he leaves.Make a point of watching & see if there are any cues hes given.
  22. Well now you've all got me paranoid. I do pluck my Lakeland's ears when there's hair there, should I be using an ear cleaning solution regularly? No.Ear solution doesnt need to be used just because. If your dogs ears are well maintained & you are checking regulary then best not to interfer. If you see any sign of "stuff: then we will flush & wash. The main key is paying attention
  23. scary thing is we probably get a min of one a week like that. You can smell it but apparently the owners who claim they are house dogs & they sleep with etc etc cant
  24. [And your excuse is All dogs have different amounts of hair. With Poodles we find rarely do you get a hairy on . With our schnauzers you get a small handful wit no hair at all but 95% of the time they have very hairy ears especially the blacks. The best product we used for years for ear maintance(no problem ears) was leo ear cleaner, brilliant stuff until the vets complained & it was no longer available unless vet only & even them no one stocks because they all dish out epi otic
