Preferred Premium And Super Premiums?
Dogsfevr replied to stormie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I recently complained to the vet that the only place I could get Eagle Pack from sold puppies. They offered to get it in for me and frankly, given the range of places where it's available, I'd rather the vet got the money. Still waiting on what changes there are to the formula. If you know what they are, perhaps you could say. Or even explain what you mean by the above? There are plenty of places you can get it even online as for changes contact eagle pack but due to food regulations on imported goods various foods places/products have to comply to meet import standards . It may not affect all the range ,it may do . I just now from people who are reps that there will be changes but we no longer feed it so i havent asked -
I now the breeder personally & there not nobs. In our sales contract you have too & often we may have people on our list looking for adult dogs or would be able to deal with a dog with issues & that have previous breed experience/knowledge. We have also worked in with breeders east who have sold dogs in different states to access & help again with rehoming to simply ensure the new owners are aware of the breed. The OP has contacted the breeder so that is all that matters. There is nothing worse than finding out second hand that your pup has moved on. We have only had one case & the owners dumped it in a boarding kennel . Luckily we new the kennel owners & the dog has been rehomed & to a super family

Preferred Premium And Super Premiums?

I believe there will be major changes with Eagle pack range(not all) due to the international trade thingy. personally i think vets shouldnt sell biscuits or even promote a certain brand.Unless your prices will be competitve for eagle packs & the likes how many would actually buy from there vet compared to other means?? -
Both parents should hold current eye clearances Not all breeders use the ACES scheme so dont worry there. If there members of the schnauzer club they will be registered breeders ( i now as where members & you have to be a canine member). As in my other post not many do puppy eye clearances but both parents should have current ones. Ours are done yearly or well before a planned mating

Grown kids should now better,i agree let them chase there clothes & take same part of the training. We tell all our new puppy owners kids that if you leave Barbie laying about ,she will likely become legless or headless. You leave your transformers about youw ill here a crunch crunch & the big kids are told dont leave the remote controls on the floor or where a puppy can get it. Has must be puppy proof until such time as it gets it.

Have you informed the breeder though?? I now they would want to now what is happening.
-
napi san or the likes, any thing will pretty much work & providing you follow obvious after care & hosing out all is fine
-
Yes. Some breeders will eye test at 6/8 weeks for CHC .It hasnt commonly been done in Australia is it hasnt been an issue but with some new lines here breeders have been. Do both parents hold current eye clearances by a specialist as only an eye specialist can do it??

Exercising An Adolescent Labrador
Dogsfevr replied to Marnifer's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Defiantly an overkill. At 10 months she should be out walking regularly & building up muscle condition. At her age & nice daily walk on ideally softer surfaces for 20/30 mins at a casual pace would be fine When you do decide to start your going to have to take it slowly because i would gather she isnt in good muscle condition so she will be behind the eight ball. Weighing her food will make no difference at all ,its all about her body weight. be aware that throwing the ball & turning quickly is the common cause of liagment/cruciate issues As for jogging not until 18 months & certainly not before you have worked the dog to a fitness level that can deal with, this would apply even if you exercised earlier. The reality is hips is either going to be an issue or not but dont become so worried you dont enjoy activities with the dog that it needs. You could get the hips/elbows done if you wish but that is your choice -
My first advice dont weigh food, each dog is different & you should adjust according to the body weight . It sounds like she is simply not getting enough food & quality foods.

I use the same & all mine start from pups through to death. You need Chondritin for it to work. Another product that my old boy is on & with great success is also human & not cheap but "pain no more" It comes in 2 choices & pick according to your issue but it has given great relief to lad whom im avoiding pain meds until really necessary. He also gets monthly bowen treatment If his hip is sore & inflammed & your dog isnt heavily coated i can also highly recommend rubbing Arnica with comfy on to it

Well let me just say my dogs steal socks, jocks until the day they die. Like others have mentioned stealing that sock is a dog greatest accomplishment but again like others they will return the sock when asked. Its fun & gets a reaction after all the floor is the dogs domain.all its toys & belongings that we expect them to play with are there . Puppies want to join in because life can be boring, there little helpers & clothes are alwasy a great fun thing & for some pups being told off still gets the attention they crave for or expect. You need to train your pup it isnt a game but you need to be patient, hes only a baby & like a human toddler is exploring life, objects & your reactions I have to say if you dont want a seek & destroy breed you may have picked the wrong one but i hav eto agree with others your trainers thus far are . There is no way a puppy should be waiting that late to be feed ,it is a baby & its meals are important to it.if your pup is also sleeping inside it wont help with toilet training or hanging on. Feed your pup like you have been ,dogs have no clue about what eating after them should mean but for a baby thats very hungry it will result in a pup going crazy & learning new bad habits My bed is a very busy place ,i have 3 setters who share mine but they all respect my commands. I personally wouldnt have adog off that age sleeping on the bed more due to injury risk. We learnt many many years ago about babies & beds & it resulted in a very badly broken leg because she jumped & wasnt ready .

Dog Allergic To Chicken Any Dry Food Reccomendations
Dogsfevr replied to woodbyne's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I would also suggest checking outthe Dallie club of America website which has a great health section -
Firstly you need to contact the breeder in WA ,they may wish to take the dog back . Reading back on prior posts i see your son has disabilities,do you think there could be a connection between his issues & what he is doing??

Dog Allergic To Chicken Any Dry Food Reccomendations
Dogsfevr replied to woodbyne's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
i dont see the runs as an allergy but an intolerance. A food allergy to me means the dog suffers differently ie bad ears, hot spots, chronic itching, skin sores.. For example my boy can eat meats(except beef which i will never feed for issues it causes) but in portions, any over the portion he gets the runs but he isnt allergic. He gets eggs but to many eggs can cause a stomach upset . I cant eat egg whites because it makes me sick but the middle no issues.i just cant stomach it. In relation to westies as a groomer yes we see dogs with issues BUT i have to say they have a very high incidence of owner created ,like my breed they need a good diet of essential fatty acids & many people dont feed correctly ,give shit treats & way too much junk food. Many treat them like little kids & feed my dogs & the likes & they just dont cut it. many westie owners we have suggested a new diet & it has worked fine & sadly there vets just dish out prednil which doesnt help the cause. -
Dog Allergic To Chicken Any Dry Food Reccomendations

sorry i dont agree with this part, reacting to one food isnt the end of the world & each dog is an individual. My dogs cant stomach beef ,many dogs cant tolerate chicken its very common. Its like saying if your a parent & you cant eat peanut butter you shouldnt have kids. The demodex is a whole different ball game ,i have never experienced it but i believe it can come in different forms & certain scenarios can set it off. We board alot of dallies & pointers who all have red bellies & no food issues but laying on the ground & having fine skin there seem to irritate it especially concrete. Also Eukanuba has been known to send dogs red . Eagle pack holistic gives my guys the runs, optium makes them scratch like crazy & lose weight so in reality any food can set a dog off so before considering your breeding doomed make sure you research well. -
We did it about a month back at Yangabub and the tracks are fine in terms of the dogs coats, it was just abit wet and muddy but not much. Most of the track consisted of limestoney gravel and some bitumen track and a small amount of sandy track where the weather had washed sand across the track. The track was quite wide except we did have a couple of fallen trees because of a storm the night before but the GSA had done a good job of moving them. There were a couple of showdogs doing it including mine (Aussie) and a friends Springer without any issues with their coats. Both dogs are Champions and the Springer is an import that is currently taking out several BIG over east. While practicing with my sister and her dogs there recently we did have a bandicoot run across our path which did excite the dogs abit. All in all a fairly easy track though. Thanks i can practise on all those surfaces in my street. Coat wise i was more worried if it would stick & of course i would have to get off pick the crap out as it would annoy him although i can tie the coat up. I now the springer well although my lad has much more coat
-
Even trimmed it will still get stuck ,You have a breed where you need to check daily for issues there. Once poo has stuck it will block his ability to toilet.. When groom many dogs where owners dont get & the dogs come in with poo pancaked to there butt

My boys pedigree is one of brains, The GS thrive at sporting events. IS also do well at ET but you dont see many ES with the title Im starting with an ES & maybe then work on GS

If anyone thinks there child is naughty i can offer a challenge for you. Smart ass ,willing to learn just has a lazy owner He can light switches on/off.Does hand target, high fives, shake, ball obsessed with no training, shows like adream on a lose lead but a turd on a walking lead LOL
-
From what i read that sounds right, much easier than before. I actually think they dont have to sit anymore but must show willingness to work. Labs i would dare say would send child to run it
-
A few but not many in my breed,in fact there very fair & few between. If it works out i have a youngster here i will train for the following year ,he could be ready next year but i would sooner put the time & effort in & do it safely. 2 blondes on a bike plus i could get in trouble if Labs is behind & i raise my hand, her dog may no longer be under effective control. I have to work on the basic obedience but that should be no issues
-
I think what you need to remember is what your basenjis get & a large breed pup is very different. For personal choice i wouldnt feed either & there both high in protein. I switched mine to large/giant holistic eagle pack & whilst i hated the effect on the coat (made it dry) it was a god sent for his front which was excellent before hand. He hit a growth stage but was a big growing youngster & what he started on was excellent but not for the next stage. But each dog is different & providing the front was good in the first place & has suddenly gone bad then you can certainly have a good chance of fixing it. Certainly switching to adult with a better ratio works a treat aswell. My boy went through his phase from 9/11 months so his age isnt late at all. Mine are feed dry plus raw meat ,necks etc etc I didnt stop free range exercise as i had no concerns about it being a big issue BUT i did seek advice to make sure
-
Are you feeding the same diet as the previous owner? What brand are you feeding?? I would consider using a Bowen/doggy chiro to ensure he isnt sore & adding to the issue. If hes over playing or exercising his front could be pinched. Did he have a good front to start with?? If you lift his front off the ground do the front hang forward or east/west?? My youngster did this but i didnt wait so long.i re adjusted his diet & went to my bowen person.withing 2 weeks his front was back to normal for his age/breed & development. I didnt add any supplements to my dog but did change his dry to suit the issue.

I have a good bike seat . I pedal regularly anyway,if anything maybe up grade my bike but thats no biggie. I have a show on that day but atleast i can get feedback on the venue, although obviously things can change next year. Having said that its close to home so thats handy
