That didnt include the consult, they also had yearly heartworm so you could imagine that full bill. As for groomers very few get paid what they deserve because a good groomer is a master of all aspects
-
There making a good profit on vaccs because we all now it doesnt cost that much. A client last week boarded there dog whom had the 3 yearly at a cost of $190 Thats a very very good profit for that container

Picking a kennel in the hills doesnt guarantee anything or make it less likely. Some kennels are more well known for getting it more often for different reasons. If kennels allow grp playtimes then dog share water bowls ,this is the quickest transfer just like when people go to the dog parks & share water bowls Its simply a case of what clients bring in & how honest clients are & yes also the kennel informing you they currently have an affected dog/s Dogs can carry the virus for over half the year & the right situation become affected that includes your dog. Its no longer a winter virus & is all year round. We havent had it this year but it,s been around, some of the WA DOLERS have also had dogs affected from meets or small play dates. . If this was the vets wording then there idiots because its called canine cough & it isnt caught just in kennels. Your dog can catch it anywhere & the kennels get it because an affected dog comes in but because its like school some will & some wont get it. Vet needs a lesson in facts

Im not sure what the current wage is but are you a specialist of any breed or specific style. ie hand stripping(not carding) etc etc. That may allow for better negations

You are doing the right thing by not pursuing radiation. The dog i wrote about did & we groomed him every 8 weeks & saw the change & the toll it took. Whilst he lived 12 months they werent a happy 12 months. Enjoy.pamper & even venture in natural medicenes

Is his face groomed or very hairy?? Agree what does the breeder say

Gordies arent in full coat until 5/6 yrs even older. At 2 years they still have very little coat. My boy is just about 18 months & has a big coat for his age but in relation to the other setters he looks naked. His dad for example is just starting his big career at 7 & just hit prime coat. Gordons havent fully developed until 3 yrs & even then arent in there prime ,they are a very slow to mature & finish growing. Showing a gordon means patience because they are very very slow to mature & be in true bloom

It would be PTS here too. The mum knows she has issues & would most likely shun her ,in nature pup would be left to die . I applaud the fact your happy to keep a blind pup but having owned dogs with disabilities & a dog who was fully blind at 4 years it is alot of hardwork & requires you to give up alot of your time.We where lucky as we work from home & could cater for there needs. If i had a pup with these 2 issues i would PTS now whilst its less stressful than faced with the same possibility when older,it is much more distressing then especially when pup will be so reliant on you Your not giving up

Can You Use A Check Chain On A Coated Showdog?
Dogsfevr replied to angelsophie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
The chain may make no difference. Still allow him to be a baby BUT i would be inclined to start addressing the pulling towards the judge because its a habit & until you start to break it it wont get better & if its pulling the movement goes with it. You just simply need to be more interesting at this stage .the judges are fun so you just need to be more fun. More a case of teaching him he still gets both but there is a time & a place -
My suggestion would be. Forget thinking about breeding at present & spend your time learning about grooming & what it requires to maintain a gordie coat(unless your a good groomer already). If your not offay with grooming start your time & effort there. Once you have started to master the art & understand your bitches faults you can start looking at males. remember though gordies are slow matures. Google.try & attend gordon specialities either in NSW or Vic to see what is there. Research your girls pedigree so you understand what dogs are there through the generations. Looking at photos try & see what faults stand out through the lines also barring in mind it could be poor grooming. Its great your wanting to learn now but sometimes its best to master the other things first & those basics are needed to teach new pet owners who may want to show & ask you for advice or assistance. As already said your breeder is the one who will now there lines, health results & who is DNA tested for colour etc etc

Beef would be the first thing i would drop out. Having said that he may have tinea in his feet & can often head under the belly of some breeds due to it staying moist

All the long hairs i groom i use Liberty Stand dryer with no issues

without seeing coat texture & condition anything from #3,4,5,7 & #10. #8.5 is often handy if matted badly

If its fungal be prepared to spend thousands, We groom a dog who had this issue, yes he is still alive & doing well considering but he is now an epileptic. There bill hit $10000 plus .It returned a number of times but at present its been well over a year since needing treatment again. He did on anumber of occasions come close to being PTS I have to say the dogs nature has changed dramatically & he seems a sad dog but that could be owner created. We also groomed a dog who we picked up cancer of the nostrils & he has sadly passed He hung on for a year after diagnosis ,he did age very quickly though. I do hope your dog test results prove to be a happy ones, its a horrible place to be in

Powder only here.I can mix it better,i find the oil always ends up at the bottom of the bowl & with alot of wastage
-
Yep dog doesnt understand what you wanted except he had something enjoyable & you headed his way. Most people make the mistake of simply not acknowledging there intentions to the dog & when the react its an issue. Remember the issue is both sides.

The WA dog shop sells them but there pricey ,not sure what they do so well for the price??
-
They do if you have one points in some states
-
Use the kids as part of training & distractions. I wouldnt panic too much ,atleast you are honest with yourself so it will make progression way easier.
-
I dont think the dog shop sells much of the range except dog bait. im presuming the OP wants meals not treats?

. I don't think it would unfair to the breeder to ask for an eye clear certificate for that pup before purchase. If they are in it for the long haul they should be eager to comply. Because in this breed rarely are they eye tested as pups unless there is an issue. We have tested at that age simply due to finding out info about our imports lines & making sure we didnt add a problem. We didnt but the bitch & pups are spayed. Both parents should have eye clearances but with pups you will find a small handful who do it as the need isnt there.

We encourage all our owners to get there new pup vet checked

I now the breeder personally & there not nobs. In our sales contract you have too I'm sorry but once a person buys a dog they can do as they wish, a sales contract 'most' of the time isn't worth the paper it is written on. Sorry I wasn't looking to make anything into a debate, just making a correction to something that was said. I believe in many cases the dog would be better off with the Breeder so I'm not suggesting the Breeder isn't a suitable person....never made mention of that of all, just stating the legal status. Sales contract are worth the paper there written on when done correctly The new purchasers sign it per the agreements & its a binding contract. Our contract has been done & approved via solicitors ,its a case of how much you want to spend fighting it Its seems breeders are dammed if they do & dammed if they dont buy you. If they dont take there dogs back they called names.when its suggested they atleast be informed of whats happening its known of there business. common sense will tell you wont get your money back selling an adult dog nor should rehoming be about that ,its about finding the prefcet home for that individual dog & its needs. The OP seems to be doing a good job thus far & hopefully these people will be the the owners she is wishing for

I think given the age you got her & most likely the lack of interaction & learning with mum pup is most likely becoming more confident & has no clue. For you its a problem & rightly so but one the pup doesnt understand & she is making up for lost time. Be patient, consistent & maybe not the food risks around children especially strangers. If it was me with the beach if my dog was being & turd whilst walking there i would have turned around & gone home. The pup got to be naughty but rewarded by getting "fun". Pay attention to when she nips the most ,sometimes there can be something that sets them off that you can then understand & be ready for
