  1. If it is the breeder i think it is all bitches go on breeders terms.
  2. Totally agree with this,we use to use them but really didnt like the finish, they way they cut & the fact that untrained dogs & this balde dont seem to mix. We never had an issue but could see issues. We do the exact same just use the corner easy peasy
  3. For babies they are only placed IE 1,2,3. If there is a baby male & female the 2 winners run off against each other for baby of breed. Ring procedure can vary so make sure you watch previous breeds & inform the steward you are new.A good steward will assit you as much as possible. Shaking hands is again a judge thing some do some dont. You will now which ones do as they make the first move,
  4. We do suggest alternatives. Even more scary is the ones with the pro heart jab aswell there bill .
  5. For a C5 vaccination alone?? You cant be serious?! Those vets must be few and far in between and must have solid gold syringes! Seriously though, i cant understand how a vet can charge this much for a vaccination and health check. I understand if there are other services included. I would love to know who does this, between my husband and I - we have both worked in most clinics south of the river and many north, over the past 20 years and ive never seen that much of a price hike in just a vaccination and health check. There out there. We nearly die when we see what there charging & as the bills are itemised we can see exactly what it covers, It truly is disgusting
  6. Having worked in vet clinics for many years, including Vetwest and Wanneroo - thats about the average price. Im not sure where you got $100 for a C5 from but it must have included more than just the vacc and health check. Most vets have to stay competitive with services like vaccinations so you can expect to pay around $75-$85 for a C5 in Perth. Stonegrace we see the receipts of many of our boarding clients & $100 is cheap for what most are paying . The general cost is around $120 up $180 not all including consult fees some have even hit the $200
  7. At the classic Friday 26 feb starts at 7pm (poodles will be on early at this show ie 7.30/8pm) monday 1 march starts at 6pm
  8. Are you wanting to see certain breeds?? If your wanting to see all aspects the Western Classic would be the best show but the breed groups are on different nights
  9. Doesnt matter what the breed is it,s what is best for that one dog & what as handler you find easier to do taking into consideration the scenario,s of how well trained the dog is & how well you deal with a dog that moves & above all how well you can read your dog on the day. My dogs are trained for all scenarios, & to stack left or right. Lead up,down, under over loose or slightly tight. There is nothing wrong with being different providing it suits that dog. having said that i started juniors with whippies & we always stacked & always stacked the Greyhounds
  10. Which vacc (c3,c4,c5,c6,c7) & about what price??
  11. How long isa piece of string . We run boarding kernels & the variance is amazing . What area do you live in/near??May be able to suggest vets with reasonable pricing
  12. If your wanting a bitch only than be prepared to wait. Its a pitfall when you arent flexible . I would keep an open mind unless you havea reason for thinking a female will be better??
  13. Agree doggy door or go back to basics & teaching her to alert you. We have a doggy door so easy peasy
  14. My advice put them back in the cupboard. They crush the nails & the dogs generally hate them
  15. thanks for that even snice looking for my dads dog its been driving me crazy and i have googled and googled and i thought better to ask here It doesnt make them unethical . WA is one of the few states that doesnt require dogs to be sold with papers & you will find most of the top breeders followed this method. This followed on form the original method before limited papers where brought in.Until recently not all pups had to be registered either. Now all pups must be registered but they dont have to go with papers. Other states have different rules & no it doesnt make your breeder unethical in any way in following there states rules & what was normal for that time. There will never be a right or wrong answer for price difference but we have paid different prices for showdogs for many years & it has never been an issue to do so Until recently not all pups had to be registered either. Now all pups must be registered but they dont have to go with papers.
  16. sorry this is just wrong IMO Cripes, that'd be me, then Talk about an inquisition three years after the event I give anybody that talks about wanting litter mates (or pups of the same age, not necessarily sibs) the exact same advise as most of you have stated on this thread, however I do not regret the two occasions that I have sold litter mates to the one family. In both cases upon meeting the prospective purchasers it didn't take me long to realise that these two families were the puppy purchasers that dreams are made of. The first pair (Jade and Amber, about twenty years ago) gave Lynda and Eric so much happiness and received so much love in return (actually I got a Christmas card again from them this year) and the two in question, Bella and Emily, are a match made in heaven for Jan and Stan. I finally discovered that Jan was the one who nominated me for the MDBA award, (thanks Jan - you bitch ) Horses for courses; no black and white, only grey; blah blah blah.... Sylvia same here .not all pet owners are idiots
  17. Okay now im confused are you asking as someone wants to buy two from the Lab litters you have at present??
  18. I so agree with this & sadly the greater majority of enquiries are being sent like this. In our breed it would also be handy if when they mention the breed its the variety we breed . So many just say Schnauzer & we dont breed Schnauzers we breed Miniatures ,so when we reply with Schnauzer breeders there like what(especially when they say we have researched the breed thoroughly).
  19. Yes its true, there is a notice on our Canine info board as there is an open show coming up
  20. have you contacted the breeder?? They should be your first port of call as they now the pup. We board alot of Bulldog babies & they area very exuberant as pups & unless your pup is different it sounds typical Bulldog baby & not aggression. If you dont now the difference then head back to the breeder & let them see because many people confuse normal behaviour but label it something else,
  21. We sell 2 from litters or similar age & all our owners have excelled at doing it all right. It isn.t that hard if everyone in the house is committed. Our puppy owners chose this path as it did work better for them to do all the training stages & the likes in one hit (even tine off work) & not one had any issues. BUT i do believe the breed needs to be taken into consideration as to how well it works. You won't get the answer you want . It's a case of the whole family sitting down & talking over the commitment level of two pups at the same time
  22. There is a box in the Canine office & there maybe a box there tonight. If you post today/tomorrow they will be excepted as the post date is prior too
  23. Yep sadly if you miss an appointment we cant just squeeze you in,we at present are 6 weeks booked out maybe more. You miss a slot its a long wait. Bichons arent rare & very easy to groom & a good salon would have no dramas doing a show trim manageable for a pet owner providing they didnt go in matted. If it had matts then yes the trim may not be what you wanted. Maybe you need to ask about a good salon in your area & get them done,it will truly make learning easier if you have a line to follow. Whilst the coat grows back bad bobos are often followed the next time. As for feet depends what blade number your using??
  24. dachies will rule the roost very quickly & they will use ther voices till the cows come home. Expect some whining but he sleeps in the crate not the bed,He is too young & if he jumps he will be in trouble. It has ben a very over whelming time with the visits you have done, generally when our pups leave its on a weekend & quiet time so they can learn there home & the members, I would say he,s a tad confused/over whelmed & he is looking at you for reassurance But dont fool into the trap babying. Also dachies especially the smooths are very prone to being a one person dog
  25. Boom booom said What utter rubbish .We run kennels & are standards are the same all year. I wonder if the owners of the kennels now about the posts here??
