Have You / Do You Work In A Kennel?
Dogsfevr replied to colliehound's topic in General Dog Discussion
as an owner never ending money spent on maintenance. As already mentioned as an owner 24/7 365 days of the year . You certainly get many wonderful dogs & great clients but its hard work & often un thanked & people seem to treat you like sh*t as its an industry that many feel is beneath them. -
never had any issues with pups or adults & fly yearly
-
\Do have to agree there
-
When i was there the club does sell food, nice pizzas, drinks, tea, coffee ,hot choc etc etc

At Bulla if you park under the trees next to the fenced off run the shade is there all day & its heavy shade. We set up there last year during the specialities. Space is limited inside but now i read they have the ramp near the club that will make life so much easier. Between indoors & the off leash area is grass so you could set up cabana,s there or set up on the grass area the other side & walk. I loved showing there last year & was lucky to have a dog so turned on by the planes landing

I have won alot of stuff over the years & to be honest cash is always the one i remember most as its useful.

What are the 2 personalities of these pups so far?? What comments has the breeder made about these 2 getting on together?? It seems the answers your getting arent what you want to hear & if the research you have done is the same one would think that would be enough to sends alarm bells & go about it differently. We run boarding kennels & aboard alot of staffs,We are lucky & have fencing they cant eat through as there notorious fence eaters so if building runs make sure the materials are staffy proof. Although i cant quite get this. Your getting 2 dogs because your son felt left out when you had one?? Your son is only 9 now ,im sure he was way to young to get that jealous prior to that . i just hope for your sons sake he doesnt end up in the middle .

Why Don't People Pick Up After Their Dogs At Shows?
Dogsfevr replied to TessnSean's topic in General Dog Discussion
Teaching squat is easy ,you dont encourage them to lift there leg . Mine will do both but if they need to pee then it aint up something. I also have abelly bib so they cant pee on belly coat & the likes -
Excess is charged one way .So in this case $140 over & $ 140 back. Virgin charging $10 was like so many years ago it isnt funny & that was also reliant on your luggage, Suck it up i pay over $800 yearly to fly to shows

This rule has been around for more than 25 yrs. Even if you do get a permit it is renewable each year & if you get a complaint they can revoke it .It doesnt guarantee that you can always have over the normal limit. Just because the CAWA grounds are in that area shouldnt mean any more privileges & im at a lost as to why you think that should be so. Members live far & wide not just in Gosnells

A Few Questions About Feeding My Dogs
Dogsfevr replied to FranVT's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
True .I would also scrape the rice a waste of money if trying to budget feed. -
That wouldn't be so bad, IMO. I'd love it if kennels would see their way to accepting Titre tests as an alternative to mandatory annual vaccination. When state laws change it may happen BUT kennels are bound by what there states law & reg are for running kennels. In some states kennels who accept titre are actually going against what the state law is & could be in a pickle

We avoid beef & i always thought horse was rich?? -
same as posted so easy & folds away to nothing . Although i often use a show trolley to take all the crap in less loads

If you havent been out & visited do so. If you havent already explained your dogs issues then do so.As a kennel owner there is nothing more frustrating than being told on the day about a dog that could be special needs. We do take special needs dogs BUT its nice to now in advance just what your dealing with & even which run will best suit that dog on arrival incase it requires time to settle, I also believe a kennel should be given the right to not take any dog with issues if they feel they cant deal with it. Policies as about vet care. I would suggest dropping the dog off am & not PM so it has the day to familiarise. If you have a good rap-ore with your vet you could discuss a plain if the dog doesnt deal well with meds BUT also keep in mind some meds for stressed dogs need supervision & monitoring due to reactions etc etc. The kennel should have a contract & be able to tell you who there chosen vet is for issues . We always try to use the clients but it isnt always doable If you leave alternative contacts for emergency make sure these people are willing to assist & able to do something. We often get numbers left & the people have no clue when contacted & dont want to help. Most kennels wont allow this for various reasons . As i say a good kennel will have no issues & your dog will cope very well
-
We get dogs in for up to 6 months. We also board alot of rescue, pound dogs & issue dogs. Providing the kennel is well aware of her issues, are happy to work with her & have the facilities that you feel best suit her & small she should do very well. What you can do between now & then is not fuss or over do it because you feel guilty. Stick to her normal household routine. If the diet is different in the kennels consider trying it on her now. make a list of issues that is "normal" for your dog. Any contacts you may have, vet info . We get long lists when some dogs come in & they are a great reference because some things that seem abnormal & maybe a vet visit for most dogs isnt for yours.

If your brushing correctly & regulary pickles .knots & the likes wont be there. The key to remember is the longer you leave the coat then the more time you need to allow for brushing through from the skin upwards. Also the trim you like is most likely maintained weekly /fortnightly & hand scissored

I heard it was going through Armadale too. Is it a concern for dogs who have been vacc? Vacc dogs can still get it

Our doggy door is in the security screen(designed for big dogs) For the top of the door we just had a Perspex screen made that sits in place with those turn screws, easy peasy
