  1. Thanks, I have posted it there however have been told it is against guidelines to advertise dogs that are not desexed?! Does anyone have any other ideas to find them a new home? Have you contacted the breeder & i would never rehome an entire bitch asking for all sorts of weirdos to want her for the wrong reasons. Spay her now & then weed out the right owners
  2. Yep & would do so for quite awhile. We also find pumpkin better than rice.
  3. #30 on the tummy We groom all pet schnauzers like there hand stripped as different areas grow faster head/neck/bum grows faster than the top coats so we dont do once size all over . We may use a #15 on the bellies but that is only on dogs with an intense coat under there, generally a #10 is fine & going backwards in some areas is fine . How long between grooms ??
  4. Yep my gordon & ES ,scratching tonight going to sit & watch instead
  5. I won both breeds but scratched one from grp specials,he just doesnt deal well with heat so he can stay home tonight
  6. Didnt show last night but many no awards handed out by the european judges
  7. we will repeat if there is low numbers/one sex or a situation has occurred with the lines vanishing quicker than planned otherwise i dont see the point of doing to many repeats for future progression BUT we would never not consider it
  8. What is the goldie doing during these phases. Its important to remember this is a 3 dog household & not just 2 pups.
  9. never to old. Although we have never ever used a hard door here. All our doggy doors are cllear & heavy plastic so the dogs can see & it doesnt hurt when going through
  10. Diet is often the major cause of skin issues. If you brought your pup from a reputable breeder they would have given you a diet chart?? Did you follow the suggested diet?? What are you actually feeding that also includes treats. Is the dog regularly groomed & not matted?
  11. I think the Chine crested won grp & pug runner up
  12. okay so if i read it correctly you are using 2 doors for training but he doesnt really have access to either??? I would suggest stick to the one door you expect him to use & get him into the routine of going out himself now, some dogs dont deal well with confusion at this age. I would also not allow access to the bed. Either get another bed or just use a mat/blanket to break the routine of that bed
  13. All the breeders i deal with dont send photos & we dont either but many do so that area doesnt bother me but simple contact within reason should be able to be done. The reason i say within reason is because some new to be owners can simply drive you mad with emails.i now its exciting & the likes but some go over the top like you dont have a life outside of dogs & expect a response within a time frame. I would do what sway has said & just ask about getting the ball rolling on transport ,if they could send through there puppy contract & food iet chart so you can get organized & see what happens. Although there seems to be alot of deposit been taken & not much happening. We never take deposits but again each to there own.we work on commitment from both sides.
  14. We use muzzles when ever required & have no qualms about doing so.. We find the dogs that wish to snap/bite actually calm down once muzzled & that during the groom it can be removed for reward & put back on in any area there is the slightest tinge of biting. In the18 yrs of being a full time groomer i have never been bitten. Certainly had dogs that make it difficult & you learn to use different body positions or tools for the job, being creative about how to complete the job is often the trick. We have only had 1 dog we refused to do again & it wasnt due to bitting but the over all behaviour & the enormous size, wasnt prepared to risk the damamge from this dog
  15. There has been a bully doing the rounds of kennels & being turned away due to various experiences by other kennel owners. may not be the same dog . They knocked on our door last week & wont go into detail about the issues & then went next door not sure what happened after that. they had been in another kennel prior & picked up that morning. many kennels wont take Bullies due to there destruction issues & other feel they dont have the facilities to house them correctly depending on how well they have been raised. We board alot & all are great dog but we had one that ate everything & anything given a chance
  16. No national this year. The last national was last year in Perth but the Poodle club holds there annual champ shows. Go to your states poodle club website for info(the links are on the breed pages)
  17. Pup is training you well & you are setting pup up to be a painful eater. As already said you feeding him wont gain any brownie points & the reality is his food means nothing coming from you as he isnt eating it . You need to forget wanting to feed & get pup into a good eating habit that sets him up for life
  18. I dont feed solely raw but i always have a diet that is suitable for any occasion & can be adjusted according to travel or able to be brought at the local /shop butcher. I have an esky etc etc but i will happily say there is a limit to what i will cart just for the sake of it when i have a good stand bye on hand that works & has aswell been used at home for these situations
  19. we have never introduced dogs on neutral ground. I have just recently brought home a new pup & it was given its own time to walk around outside & sniff/toilet smell & then the tribe was allowed to touch/interact no issues. We now our dogs well & with a simple common-sense you can do it safely at home without worrying .
  20. +1 It is difficult enough to get vets to give GOOD references about their clients, let alone damning stuff. I know as a boarding kennel owner unless we have written permission by the owners at the vet to hand out info to us they cannot talk due to confidentiality issues so yes the vet talking about is a shock . Whilst the vet has been good talking out of school like that isnt going to be good for him But yes you can count yourself very lucky not to have got this pup & had your home affected by this disease. The best breeders can sadly get affected by parvo just as much as the bad ones but how its dealt with makes the difference & yes if they thought it was parvo they should have said straight away ,theyw ould have known the illness was more a worse case even if not fully identified as parvo
  21. Does she get free access outside or is it always the door is shut & she is either let out/in?? As he gets older what is the routine plan you are working towards(outside only, outside.inside etc etc) because the odd walk so far all pup gets what is the pups routine for play/interaction/independence at home??
