Dry Humping 18 Months Old Female Staffordshire
Dogsfevr replied to scolly's topic in General Dog Discussion
It means the dog is ruling the house . It isnt acceptable behavior & the dog obviously has little leadership respect of hubby. Spoiling a dog creates issues ,you can love your dog dearly but one must always remember they are a dog & need to be treated as such to now where they stand. My dogs are part of the house sleep on my bed BUT i never lose sight of the fact they are an animal & as such will be treated with the respect they deserve to be well adjusted animals This young lady is establishing herself over hubby & at 18 months i would be addressing this issue now before it gets out of hand. -
Advice On Different Package To Desex Puppy
Dogsfevr replied to nicolatu's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yes it does because each dog should be considered until unless there are additional reason like the brachy breeds but having said that our vet sees alot of brachy breeds & there is no price difference. Just like vets that now charge more if they have had a season ,it all a joke in the scheme off things -
I have neither but have friends who do & my biggest issue with both is getting the dogs in the back with the tray in the way, Often the crates are at the back & by the time the dogs are placed up & you leab in to lock the crates it can be quite a hard task

Advice On Different Package To Desex Puppy
Dogsfevr replied to nicolatu's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Agree,we have a vet chain here that is notorious for these package deals & over kill & if you question them my god do you get abused. A good vet clinic doesnt do package deals as such they should be treating each dog based on breed or risks associated & going from there. It shouldnt be like picking a holiday package -
I now a few whippies who have bloated,it doesnt just affect big dogs
-
I own breeds pre disposed to bloat & have lost 2 to bloat & no im not paranoid about it because i now i take every precaution that is reasonable to minimize the chances. There are to many what ifs & the more paranoid i become the less enjoyment i would have owning the breed & would get out. Stress can also be a major factor by the owners .

How Would A Cavalier And German Shepherd Go Together?
Dogsfevr replied to Sunnyflower's topic in General Dog Discussion
Here is a soft placid GSD that by one poster is a reject. A true GSD is adaptable to all situations . My GSD was an entire male, used at stud, show breed from pure german lines A GSD is all about ownership . My boy had never meet these dogs but all our big dogs are taught manners & IF THE OWNERS are prepared for reality, prepared to have the house set up for the puppy stages & totally committed it will work but all factors must be consdiered I will also attach a photo of our other big dogs/small dog combos -
Why Are Some Pups Sold Without Papers Altogether

yes you will get 6 points each time you win the breed & more points if other chessies turn up

What is the main reason for a third dog?? If the 2 dogs get on like a house on fire what are your expectations of adding a third ?? Bostons & Frenchies can be very spunky dogs so you truly need to match the pup to what you already have & to be honest unless your very dog savvy having 3 entire males may be a disaster. You you have to understand is your pack gets on great now a 3 males can alter that & an entire male can suddenly become things you dont expect. If desexing isnt going to be an option then you need to pick wisely to make sure things dont go pear shaped

Why Are Some Pups Sold Without Papers Altogether
Dogsfevr replied to GardenofEden's topic in General Dog Discussion
WA still doesnt have to sell with papers but all pups must be registered . QLD they are suppose to go with papers so they reality is your breeder hasnt followed the COE there bound by. When you say health testing did you get a copy of those papers & how do you now they match the pup you have ?? -
I would sooner post that at his age than a bad stacked shot.It shows his athletic side which is important in the breed
-
People always remember bad photo's & with a minority breed bad photo's stand out big time. I too wouldnt use it because whilst its a nice candid photo, it isnt a great photo to encourage people to go WOW. Young dogs we generally do head shots only unless its a nice stacked photo or there hunting birds nothing that can be pre judged

Yep so agree with this

never heard of them ,make sure you do your homework about breeders

The shows this weekend are in Geraldton. Bichons arent shown in big numbers here. The next best show to see Bichons would be either the 29 or 30 may
-
For Bichon breeders or people to talk with i would suggest Rick & Katherine Berwick Dupanche Bichons. They attend most shows if not judging. They are one of the handful of breede/exhibitors of this breed

Please Help. My Daughter Is Terrified Of Our Dog.
Dogsfevr replied to boxerfamily's topic in General Dog Discussion
See i will disagree, i believe the situation with having 3 boys is very important & i dont see how hanging on to the pup for 5/6/7/8 months & then rehoming would be fair when they are getting more attached. It wont be fair on either side BUT the dog is the most important aspect at the moment & it is a pup that also needs stability. If you do rehome i agree dont lie.contact your breeder who should be able to help. There will be no easy answer but remember your daughter is 10 & in your own words always been scared all her life she this is a problem well established & will take time to deal with . I feel for you we see people in our business scared of dogs, people who will only own small dogs or big dogs, cant cope around certain colours & the list goes on. No easy option but in your heart im sure you now which will best suit Goodluck -

I would like to know the rules on this actually. Isn't there something in the code of ethics that says all puppies from registered breeders must be registered and buyers supplied with a copy of the pedigree. I recall reading something similar although that might be an exaggeration of a rule. Or is that a rule in another state? Yes it is covered in the COE & we dont have to hand out the papers at all,all pups must be limited registered or main & the owners must be made fully aware before the sale what the deal is with the papers. A member shall provide to all recipients of dogs sold or otherwise disposed of by that member, written details of: 2.23.1 The breed characteristics; 2.23.2 Vaccination record and / or requirements; 2.23.3 Responsible dog ownership information; and 2.23.4 All documentation required by the member's Member Body, including a written receipt clearly stating whether the dog was sold with or without a Certificate of Registration (Main or Limited) and any other conditions. For the purposes of this Code "with or without papers" shall mean the Certificate of Registration. 04/08

Please Help. My Daughter Is Terrified Of Our Dog.
Dogsfevr replied to boxerfamily's topic in General Dog Discussion
How did she react around the breeders adult dogs?? We get the occasional parents out with similar issues but i will be honest & say we wouldnt sell to them until they seeked help before the dog came home ,some brought elsewhere that didnt always end well & others returned to us when the child had received help, unfortunately getting a dog without help to the problem doesnt work. I guess the main thing you need to ask yourself is it affecting the pup or the future living arrangements this dog has?? If in 6 months time she is still terrified will you still have the dog or would you consider rehoming?? I only ask this because in all honesty if you feel the situation wont be sorted soon you need to consider the dog just as much & not play a waiting game with it . The dog can also start to build a fear of your child reactions & either play up more or fear her . I think its time to have a serious talk about whether this is the right time to have dog at home & consider the pros & cons I will add at the show on the weekend a parent brought there young daughter down to the show to see the dogs & it was very obvious to all she was totally terrified of the dogs to the point of looking like having a panic attack. Unfortunately some of the dogs body language & reaction to her fear wouldnt have helped her because she scared the dogs others thought it was a game & tried to leap & jump. I guess in the end you now your daughter best & the dog & your household & can determine what the next 14 years may be like keeping in mind your pup will grow quickly & become more powerful & in your face which Boxers are, very touchy/feely & people dogs
