  1. Blockage is a massive issue. We lost our top show bitch to a blockage & learnt a very quick lesson on how to do a good barium meal to pick them up as they don't show up on xray
  2. Sorry it isn't what dogs do.my dogs don't pee in my house so they don't pee on other peoples belongings. As a handler you are in charge of what your dog does & allowing it to pee up peoples stuff is bad form .Accidents do happen & like already said ,say sorry & give that person a chance to water the area down. I have had people allow there dogs to pee in my dogs crates & on my dogs, grooming box, chair, clothes attached to my chair, esky, ezy up walls & the list goes on Not one word of sorry If your dog is a piddler then pay attention All the things mentioned would apply to any type of sport or interest. Its about asking for help, ensuring you are prepared & pay attention.
  3. we never had issues with our female greys together The only thing that i would be concerned with is at 12 yrs moving house will be a massive change for the old girl & she may be become overwhelmed with finding her new spots plus adding a new dog to the equation. I personally would be allowing the old girl more time to adjust to the move & settling first
  4. Names have always been able to be changed provided done by a set age & the dog hasn't been shown at a show & that there is good reason for the change.
  5. Be grateful you can camp at the grounds ,not every state has that privilege & people forget they often have it lucky.
  6. I suggest you get out and meet some of these breeds, dog shows are a great venue although there aren't many Vizslas showing in WA. My short list some 13 years ago was very similar! I crossed Ridgebacks off pretty quick because they are bigger, less active and not as easy to train (although very trainable!). Being a Hound they are more aloof with strangers. FOr what I was interested in I decided the Utility Gundog breeds were more suitable. The Gundogs you've listed are all high energy and would love that 2 hours exercise each day, but don't expect them to sit on the couch with you if they don't get it! We rarely get 1 Vizsla shown, we have a wirehaired Vizsla shown more often. Keep in mind i don't believe we have any breeders of Vizsla's in WA so you would have to go east. If the GSP are to your liking consider the wire haired GSP aswell ,we do have a breeder in WA of those who also breeds GSP.
  7. Head to a dog show although the WA show season is coming to an end so only a few shows left this year
  8. There was 165 GSDs entered so about 6 hrs to judge them???
  9. Not when they have a specialty show I thought yesterdays was a seperate specialty but todays was under the Spring Fair show banner and that they should have waited for the GSDs? What time did GSD judging start ?? What time did the whole show finish ?? Why did the GSD judging take so long if it wasn't a speciality show but part of the All Breeds show?
  10. There are a number of things that are annoying but will always happen but as already mentioned people not taking adequate shade down for there dogs & then trying to pinch yours or setting there dogs so close to your gear it isn't funny . I make the effort to take to buy what i need & take it down & it isn't there for free use by those who make no effort at all. * Those people who are always unorganized & think the whole show should wait for them,at one show an exhibitor felt the show should be delayed because there where scratchings & there breed is normally on at "said" time but was on earlier & it wasn't fair as they where rushed
  11. I fly large dogs yearly . You will be looking (if Rotti) size about $175 give or take each way plus crate hire if required. Virgin only take vari or solid wire crates no fold ups & fly every day. Qantas take fold up wire crates but have restricted times on weekends that they take dogs
  12. Ooooh, what concerts?? I want to go to Canada or the US and see one of my fave bands ;) And I'd love to go to Croatia, looks beautiful! I want to do the Mediterranean cruise that goes there, sounds devine!! I've spent like 2 days in England and didn't really get to even sightsee (my host was lousy, slept in til lunch time, what a cow!!!!) and LA/San Fran. Looooooooove San Fran :p I'd so love to visit somewhere in Canada (Vancouver perhaps) and also New York (and loads of other places!) Eurovision ??
  13. The new ones are far better than the old ones. They fit per wall where the old ones don't. The zip together, better protection from rain & the sun. We had 2 oz trails at one show joined together with 7 walls up & zipped
  14. Ulster Kennels was owned by Dan Oconnor & now his daughter runs the place (if still the case). Dan runs the Albany dog club & they use to breed/show Italian Greyhounds . Drive past the place each show
  15. We have had a small percentage of dogs whose peeing habits have altered after an anesthetic & it has happened a week or so latter & then resolved it self
  16. Adding items to trailers isn't that simple & the draw bar most certainly plays a big part
  17. Yep sat & sun . Sat lancefield & Sunday Bulla
  18. My vic womens arrived today (they where suppose to be sent to melb address) which was lucky as i fly out tomorrow. All the others have been sent to Melb & received
  19. You need to check with any dog transport but i would doubt they will be allowed to share a crate. There are certain crates that are approved for travel . Vari or the PP40 plus a few others,i would be buying a crate each & training them now & being separate .
  20. What do you actually feed including treats?? As the dog has fleas this is an area you need to get on top off as being bitten by fleas is like having "chicken pox" & will cause all sorts of added issues .
  21. I was asked if i could post this so if anyone is interested please contact the details given ; Most of you will have heard of the intestinal parasite Giardia – but did you know it is now the most common gut parasite of dogs and one we know very little about. Yes, Giardia can cause diarrhoea but rarely – more likely are its subtle effects on performance and growth particularly in puppies since they are most commonly infected. Dogs respond differently to Giardia infection and researchers at Murdoch Vet School are trying to find out why. All they need are ‘poo’ samples! To get involved contact Andy Thompson at: [email protected]
  22. Hopefully not to many i am only allowed 30 kg luggage
