  1. Um those COE are no more special than what ANKC members already abide by
  2. So does them mean you can be a Schnnodle(DDB) breeder ?? & recognized with the MDBA The MDBA are creating and writing their own standards for each breed to be able to be registered - that is we are working out for each breed what tests we are going to make mandatory and what is going to be recommended. There is no need for you to worry about people being confused about which breed standard because breed standards are not being altered. No dog can be placed on the stud registry unless it is a main registered dog with an approved registry - You can not be a schnoodle breeder and be an MDBA member. If you are working on a new breed you are able to place the dogs on the Foundation registry to enable you to do exactly what you can do now with the ANKC - seek breed recognition when you get to that. Allowing people to work on that under our supervision means they can use our data base to track genetic issues , health or temperament way before it gets to a request for recoginition. And they dont get to even be a starter unless they can present the breeding program and show how they intend to proceed to get to a new breed and what you can do with any puppies produced along the way is restricted too. To suggest that what we intend to do is to allow schnoodle breeders to be recognised is a mile away from reality and in fact its an attempt at showing people the difference between a schnoodle breeder and breeder who is working within a frame work to develop a new breed. This concept isnt new over seas it just something the ANKC havent provided as they usually show no interest until the application goes in for recognition - that doesnt mean the process of getting there isnt the same or that its not a good thing for us to be involved before that. So what exactly can they breed under the registry that is from unknown or unregistered parentage ??
  3. What i am curious is when the MDBA start creating there own breed standards then what happens to the general public in deciding which one is right?? Then when you add this how are the public suppose to decide who is right So does them mean you can be a Schnnodle(DDB) breeder ?? & recognized with the MDBA
  4. You can take up to 2 pet cages per Guest travelling, with up to 3 pets per cage. If there is more than one dog or cat in the cage, they must be: * All from the same litter. * Under 6 months old. * Under 14kgs each. From the Virgin page
  5. Because not all breeders support the MDBA & would prefer not to get involved when there name comes up. It seems a thing of late to be promoting the MDBA in DOL like some elite group when infact it isn't & i find it misleading .There are many wonderful ANKC breeders who do wonderful things & are just as ethical if not more yep flame suit on so shoot me
  6. Virgin have all there flying with dog details on there website
  7. We have boarded a few on that drug & generally all use the same vet clinic & on high doses & to be honest they are like walking zombies. So vague & switched off from the world. Hopefully you have success
  8. More than i have done, Never been to a night club, don't drink.don't smoke . Not a night owl (except dog shows ) & not a party person except for civilized ones where everyone isn't p*ssed . Now i am old fart who still like's the quiet life & yep 18 was a long long time ago
  9. We too have been in the position of putting down a number of dogs over the years infact we have had to PTS 16 & only i 3 in there sleep What we have learnt is when we ask ourselves is it time it generally is because it means we are reading the signs the dog is giving & noticing the dramatic changes that are no longer part of "there" life. Like someone else has said consider how often the bad times are over the good because that is what matters the most . I would suggest trying something more bland for her tummy & see how you go. It is never an easy choice & hopefully your vet is one that is supportive. As awful as it sounds if you haven't decided what you plan to do when the time comes maybe consider it now. All ours are cremated ,some people bury ,this is often more stressful than any moment when suddenly having to decide what to do
  10. Qantas & Virgin have different requirements for crates & set sizes . The crate posted couldn;t be used on VIRGIN but can on qantas if it meets the requirements on strength
  11. I understand that. I am waiting a response from my breeder and thought I would just ask since a dogue exhibitor had replied on this thread. My main concern and the topic of this thread was the hernia. I see no need to ask the breeder about that since many people on here can give me different advice and their own personal experience. I also don't really want to sound like a worry wart to my breeder, better to get some of my concerns alleviated first If your breeder is good they would sooner be contacted about your concerns .a good breeder should always be there to listen & explain There is nothing worse as a breeder to find out your the last to be asked about an issue/concern regarding a pup you have breed. Does your breeder show there dogs?? If so you could meet them at a show & they can assit you in the show world & how to train your pup, a good breeder & relationship is worth every cent but your concerns are important to you & should be to them .
  12. Most of the dog folk in Southern River use either Risely vet (applecross) or Deepwood Gosnells. We drive past all the vets in the Canning Vale area to use Risely & will also be adding Deepwood as our second option
  13. Do they breed all those breeds or breed 1/2 & own the others. We breed /show 1 breed but i prefer another breed & own 3 varieties within that breed so we have 4 different breeds here but i don't breed the other 3. In the past we have owned & breed other breeds due to varying preferences in the household & shown them. Having said that i do now breeders who have multi breeds & aren't ethical so doing your research is a must. Most of the people i now have dabbled outside there main breed & are wonderful breeders
  14. Show dog - just out of interest it is common for international judges not to award a challenge for a dog under 12 months? I know you didn't ask me, but I will answer anyway It certainly isn't unusual for judges to give that reason for non-awarding a dog under 12 months. But I have only had it happen to me once or twice and have had other international judges give them the CC. Of course in breeds with more than 1 dog competing it is less common as they just give it to the older dogs I have never had a young dog non awarded BUT do now plenty of judges who have & have given age the reason .I have had an older dog NA but that is a whole topic again . Some countries don't show pups so find it hard to figure out what to do with youngster but they should judge the Aussie way . I don't think this year's judges will be serial NA If I am right in knowing which time you are talking about, wasn't that an interesting day! Same judge is on a panel that is often shared with WA ,me hopes she isn't one of the judges & if she is not doing 3 . Whilst not getting a good reason from her & am happy i caught her out on her attempt to claim she didn't speak english, one needs to remember who they spoke good English too on previous visit especially when we where asked to bring dogs down for her to see specifically & discuss. But i still have my reasons for the whole fiasco of that day
  15. Why would anyone want to "hide" something like that (whether it be a "normal process" of development or not)? It can't be that embarrassing??? Surely this not for show-ring purposes? That's not the purpose of showing ....... . ETA: Using your quote, Showdog, but not directed to you. Asking OP . Erny they have posted in the show section not long ago so i presume it is for there showdog
  16. Also remember the weather in Perth has been extremely hot & enough to knock any animal around. Are you reading a book that you have decided it is a fear stage?? Maybe your routine is too structured & you need to adapt to her needs
  17. Depends on the breed .i could guarantee mine wouldn't give up & would hunt around the house like crazies. It is a risk you will have to take & be prepared to address.

  19. 17 Jan for the show 7 Feb for dog sports
  20. What breed ? what age?? Bum high could be a very normal process of the breed which one doesn't hide, could be hair that needs stripping or the dog may always be bum high which is a fault
  21. A whippet from a good breeder is tough as boots & very happy to be with anyone . Some can certainly be timid BUT the breed shouldn't be,you have some wonderful breeders in your state
  22. In our trailer we always ensure what is at the bottom is as non slip as possible. The made to fit canvas beds are great as already mentioned especially if the dog has an accident on the way or over night & can be easily cleaned & used asap. I guess it comes down to if the dog is destructive but my guys aren't so they have there comfy beds,u shape pillows & the likes
  23. We recommend whippets to alot of people with younger children, wonderful dogs .
