The Strangest Cross Breed You Have Ever Seen?
Dogsfevr replied to jackie_a1's topic in General Dog Discussion
I see all sorts but one that stood out when being booked in for boarding was a Shar Pei /Akita cross. It had the body/size of an Akita head/tail of a Shar Pei . Luckily for this dog they have very responsible owners who understood the combo could be a time bomb & had it trained to perfection & was a total joy to look after . In the wrong hands -

Like others we helped friends out especially those that work, whilst we also work we do so from home. We have babys sat friends bitches when near whelping so they don;t have days off for no reason until the time is right We have also done daycare for a week of pups just born(small breeds & they also help vice versa if they can but we all now the dogs plus the owners could come if required .

Sounds like sour grapes, you asked for opinions & all that have been given are very legit. It isn't about our own success but about simple reality & what we spend our money on . It takes me 5hrs plus to get my dogs ready for shows ,no way would i spend that time for judges who i now don't appreciate my dogs & honestly any normal person would be the same. The people who show 2/3 times as you say & give up as its a con then i say there being taught well be other sore losers who also need to pull the head out of the sand or simply don't appreciate the other dogs winning & expect to be instant winners when we all now not everyone can.

We board alot of old dogs many around the 15/18 yrs bracket. I will be honest & say some of these owners hope they die with us so they don't have to deal with it which really peeves us off & sadly we have had a few oldies pass away . We have certainly had some oldies in that the owners should never ever have left with anyone . We get many more that have a blast & go home younger than they came in. Every dog is different . I myself have never left my oldies as mum is here or vice versa & yes it has stopped me from doing many wonderful things so i appreciate when clients come in with oldies how hard it can be .

If you go to the bottom you can change the format to old style ,still has some changes but generally the same as before

Yep as already mentioned there are people i would never enter under nor travel for . You could be entering under the breeder/co owner/partner & the list goes on.You could end up with siblings entering as well so then is it up to the club to go through entries & pick out those who can/can't enter ?? I think not Judges have rules to follow to & judges are able to knock back appointments due to being to close together or already judging that group. After all you cant do potluck unless you have a variety of judges with multi groups. Judges receive a list of what breeds are entered so they can follow through on breed standards if they have breeds they have never judged before It wouldn't work, would be to much work for those volunteers & Internationals judges need to meet ANKC regs for judging in Australia. Most judges wouldn't accept appointments without knowing what they where doing Entries wouldn't increase at all because no one wastes money on judges who they now wouldn't even consider them nor would you drive hrs,pay for accommodation, maybe a day of work on the off chance you get a judge you would support

Just be honest ,if you don't want to sell to them then don't string them along ,You don't have to say an outright no The litter hasn't been planned yet, pick puppy isn't for sale( i gather it isn't??) & to watch your website for further details Pushy people get wiped off our list ,there is a difference between keen & over the top
