  1. Here they get ice cream,2/3 scoops each day & stakes the weight on . But i also feed raw mutton, necks etc etc
  2. This has been known for many years . The breeds that don't shed are only suggested as being more suitable in some cases but no means of a guarantee
  3. Yep Irish BIS Ch Eireannmada Queen of Rock Go Tina
  4. Its the second break in in the kennel zone.obviously the burglars can't read the big signs . Although the one in Canning Vale a few weeks back was midday
  5. given what some humans do in bed why would a dog be any more unhygienic ??? I have 3 on my bed currently & have always had dogs The vets i now who are dog lovers also have dogs sleep on the bed ,the types of vets i like
  6. Don't worry about treats, the more you smell odd the more it affects the pup, don't go overboard just use simple measures. Rubbing of towels, toys etc etc we have never bothered with in over 25 yrs of breeding & never had any pups suffer because of it nor the ones we have brought ourselves. The more you make of it the more the pup will be cautious . As already mentioned depending on pick up time ask the breeder to feed very early or a partial meal Ensure pup has toileted Place in car To be honest we never stop unless the dog is restless whether it be new pup or adult ,on long trips we do stop but not at set hrs just keep driving . Pack spares towels/bags & water bowl /water ideally if anything bottled water or fill bottle of home water as water changes can give some dogs the runs but just keep it simple
  7. Our breed has many vets BYB & breed some of the worse specimans, one also encourages there buyers to breed . Having kennels we get many DD dogs & the likes in & its interesting to see which vets are the chosen one for certain chains of petshops or well known farms
  8. WA had a committee which is no longer running due to lack of people. Vic has appointed there new patron who is a dog person & well known media person
  9. He is being a normal pup that has lost everything familiar to him ,pups whinge that is normal your expectations aren't . I gather this pup was used to running outside & having freedom at the breeders & now it is confined & at present you have made it reliant on your guidience because its either crated or with you ,you haven't said what time frame it spends outside being a pup . Does pup have access to a door to get outside?? What toilet training regime have you taught it?? Have much outside time does pup get ?? How much play time/walks/play ball does it get ?? Our mini schnauzer babies run an acre at 6 weeks they weigh less than a kilo ,they spend hours outside & use the doggy door . It sounds like this pup needs more freedom outside & less banging/yelling. The Kelpies we board are very sensitive dogs & very people orientated after all that is the working aspect of being with the "master " they crave the attention but love there outside world
  10. If it was me i would cancel because you have questions that are legit & should have been covered prior to this . But you now the issue with your dog so only you can make the decision Vets that are pushy piss me off & even more so the ones that don't listen or take time to cover all areas Have you discussed the issues with the breeder?? What are you feeding??Has the vet offered a diet regime?? What do you clean the ears with?? Has it always been an issue or more recent ??
  11. without knowing every detail & just on the basics above i would say excessive especially the MRI. Have they done cultures on her ears?? Are her feet swollen/yeasty??If so her feet need to be treated for infections too which many vets don't think off. She scratches her ears & the cycles just goes around in circles
  12. I feed Pro Plan salmon & not due to tummies because it does wonder with my dogs coat & condition plus there raw. personally i wouldn't feed hills unless it was life & death & most dog s wont eat it anyway. I would be looking at her diet & consider which items could be causing her the runs . I have read some people have had issues with the dry & runs. Barf doesn't agree with all dogs & some ingredients don't always agree with some dogs Liver/hearts etc etc Right down what exactly she gets feed & whether it is worse after certain foods . If i was feeding bland i would be doing chicken & pumpkin for a week or so & then going from there but each dog is a case by case thing. I would be adding flora max or similiar to help realign the good gut bacteria
  13. I never would but do now people who have but they have done it for the wrong reasons not because they like the name . The worse part is when ever they talk about the dog we have to ask are we talking about the dead one or the new one . For me new pup ,new name, new personality & new memories
  14. A good breeder will quiz the owners & inform them of there suitability BUT these people should have done there research & be fully aware of the Siberians pitfalls . First off good fencing is a must they are amazing escape artists, the shed coat in bucket loads, they are very active, can be very stubborn & dominant . They are wonderful dogs but not for lazy owners or owners who just want a dog to sit in the backyard with little time spent. There not ideal for offleash runs BUT they can be trained with a good deal of time spent by there owners,an intrained Siberian like any dog will not be a pleasure & a Sibe with little time spent will seek its own fun & that is why there escape ability is well known & why they have a high dumpage rate. They are active dogs & need owners who are committed sadly its seems alot of owners aren't & this breed suffers from to many BYB breeders & the dumpage rate . Very easy to google the breed & get could sound infor on what the breed needs to be a well adjusted house member
  15. Not heavy at all ,i did 15 dogs yesterday . I find them comfer than Oster, wahl & i don;t like the Andis shape . It what suits each person but grooming time for severely matted dogs is half what it would be with others & the finish is way better. We have had our Double K for over 20 years now so the new ones are probably even better . Rarely serviced & used 5 days every week or more
  16. I have 2 dogs here who get it daily,Excellent for fussy eaters & for putting weight on . I use vanilla & they prefer Bulla
  17. we own 3 double K & still have our original oster that are 25 plus years old. I couldn't do it withoutour double K,so quick & easy on all coat conditions & never give up.
