We never do the booster & we show our pups from 3 months. 5 weeks never heard of any breeder doing them that young especially on a pup so small .

Anyone Here Show Their Gsd In The All Breeds Shows?
Dogsfevr replied to loveretrievers's topic in General Dog Discussion
GSD have done very well in the All Breeds ring in Perth . I showed my GSD All Breeds only before he retired & he was a big winner when the breed numbers where 20 or more. His breeders showed Multi All Breeds BIS winners on a consistent basis. The problem i see with a number of the GSD shows All Breeds in Perth is there ring manners aren't exactly pleasing on the eye, they shouldn't be pulling like crazy with legs going in all directions . Loose lead ,free baiting & picture perfect & any GSD will do well if its a good rep. -
Yep snake season never ends & i now of 3 dogs already killed by snakes .the warmer weather just makes them more active & seeking food so often more cranky at this stage

I would suggest shorter walks with plenty of treats. It sounds like the dog hears the same old same form you that it means nothing or your boring & the outside world is more interesting to the dog. If the dog is food driven then take plenty of treats & use it to your advantage to maintain attention & to teach the dog to listen. It does sound like you need assistance to understand where your going wrong & the sooner the better

Kennel solution may not work if they haven't brought there vacc card with them or the dog isn't current. If the dog is current then there vet should be able to fax/email a vacc copy.

Acd Joint Problems In Young Dogs
Dogsfevr replied to sarogan's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
i would be trying a bowen or doggy chiro -
One suggestion would be if the dog is due to be vaccinated get it done before you head to Karratha & maybe consider the 3 yearly, the vacc prices up there are bad. I would also stock up on Heartworm meds & tick meds before you get there, perfect weather for heartworm & they have brown dog ticks up there often in plague form . Not sure what you feed & what your happy to adapt to

Because we live in a world that sues at a drop of a hat & we have to many owners who don't consider others & allow there dogs to annoy other clients. My dogs sleep on the bed etc etc BUT i also see how many of our clients treat our facilities when they enter ,They allow there dogs to piss up our BBQ,out door settings, doors the list goes on. The small minority leave an ever lasting mark . We are use to dog hair in our coffee & the things that go with dogs but i also appreciate not everyone else is & have no issues with places being a no go for dogs because the way i see it is if i can take my dogs then people with pet rats, ferrets etc etc should also be able to take there pets & i now many a dog person who wouldn't agree to that

Showing Breeds In Different Groups?
Dogsfevr replied to Crazy Daisy's topic in General Dog Discussion
When i started in juniors i started with Irish Setters & Whippets ,nearly all the kids in my era grew up handling large breeds. I have trained juniors too & tabling can be done it really comes down to the child & how much the like to help themselves(ie some are really keen & work around it others just don't have the grunt to try ). Also consider the dog you buy now will be the one for the next 5/7 yrs if it turns out well especially for juniors so the breed picked ideally needs to be something the child still wants to handle as they get bigger -
head off to a dog show

As far as the homophobic thread we have only heard one side of a story so i don;t believe anyone can state black/white that is the actual reason at all & to be honest if the reason isn't true than i feel for that breeder . As an interest the dog world has alot gay couples / breeders & are wonderful dog ambassadors & super people Selling a pup is about both parties ticking the right boxes . The fact there are plenty of reasons that some people won't sell. I now a rescue org that won't sell if your income is under a certain amount but also won;t sell if you work long hrs. These that won;t sell with young kids, outsdie dog only etc etc If its a genuine reason to the breeder then its there choice whether one agrees or not ,after all they have to feel happy with the pup going there Some reasons may well be trivial or silly but each to there own.

What are the prices ?? Generally there around the $170 mark for a good table or just make your own,buy the wood, legs & matting easy peasy

What are they like when you brush them. Minis are super smart dogs & learn very quickly so never to late to retrain them . First rule don't feel guilty ,spoiling them doesn't achieve anything as you have found out. When you say spoil what do you mean ?? What exactly do they get away with ?? Minis are normally very easy dogs to live with I have to ask are they black or Black/silver ??

“is It Time To Introduce A Spitz Group In Australia?”.
Dogsfevr replied to Bjelkier's topic in General Dog Discussion
The schnauzer exhibitors had a vote on where they belong. Those with 2 or 3 of the sizes didn't want them split as it was in the "too hard" basket. Most of us Mini exhibitors did vote to be moved to the Terrier ring because in the scheme of things we fit in better size wise & to be honest being in a group with stripped coats meant we had judges more offay with correct coats . The Std & Giant where if voted to go to the working group. I would have been happy with Minis in the terrier grp As far as yanks go some UK folk wanted them shifted to the toy ring ,good knows why they are very much a working spaniel . -
We had no luck with Kenwick ,Applecross we still use if after hrs are required but they aren;t our main vet either ,To many staff changes happening there . We love our main vet & will aslo try another clinic at some stge just to have options if caught out & both have excellent pricing & common sense approach

I wouldn't DNA test without being 100% the results will come back in your favour The dog looks RR cross so just register as such, I would guarantee if that dog was found vets/pounds & the likes would all say RR cross

Showing Breeds In Different Groups?
Dogsfevr replied to Crazy Daisy's topic in General Dog Discussion
been there done that & now stick to two grps although one breed is my mums. For many years had 2/3 breeds & if they didn't clash for breed they would clash for group. Depending on what breed you are thinking off maybe the kids start using them in juniors & then see how they go or like.
