Does Anyone Here Do Mobile Dog Grooming?
Dogsfevr replied to Esky the husky's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have never done mobile ,i do salon from home & couldn't bare the thought of doing this job mobile stuck in a little van or trailer. In the stinking heat wrestling with a dog i am so grateful for my air con ,toilet close by & all the other bits & pieces -
How do the children react around dogs smaller in size?? If the children are terrified of the dog what will be your plan long term

not hot here
-
Mine don't feel the heat

I find the dual cabs hotter in the back than a trailer even with the sliding windows . Given the height of the ground it can also be a pain getting the dogs up/down & getting stuff in .

Reattaching A Dog To A New Family Member? Help
Dogsfevr replied to angelsophie's topic in General Dog Discussion
I agree let daughter do the fun things BUT daughter must also understand if the dog doesn't want to sleep in her room that the dogs needs come first, don't set daughter up for another disappointment . But don't make the situation pushy, the dog will not respond if you all go overboard, this dogs routine means as much to it & as the plan your daughter has The dog is the one who has to deal with the major change I personally wouldn't shut her in each night she needs to want to be there ,the worse case of being forced is she sleeps at the door waiting for it to open which isn't what your daughter wants -

Bali has had it for years so no real surprise . I guess one bright side is maybe if it gets here we no longer have to do the quarantine aspect entering the country

Is she in her crate for any reason. Added stress may mean a longer recovery especially if there a clean dog & need to empty out . Just go to the chemist & buy floramax tablets to realign the good gut bacteria. There are plenty of options for the runs most vets will sell scourban or similar it just depends on how bad it is You can still feed her if need be just something very light ,we use chicken mince & Pumpkin .Some dogs just don't do the full starve well & need a little something to settle others 24 is no big deal.

If she plans to breed then don't get involved. Let her make her own decisions & get a feeling of what her puppy buyers may go through after all if she wants to breed people will be phoning her for advice . If she doesn't have the brains to take pup to the vet then heaven. help her when she plans to breed She obviously is not aware the breed standard has been changed & the size increased for Chis

http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/195601-my-toy-poodle-shakes-his-head/page__p__4520504__fromsearch__1#entry452050 Is this the same dog Its a chemical, all of those products come with risks. The worse one we know for skin reactions & burning is frontline . As far as toxic for cats many dog products are but many people never read the instructions either or guidelines for reactions .

Separation Issues - New Pups . Some Discussion...
Dogsfevr replied to persephone's topic in Puppy Chat
Rebanne yep to outside, many forget at the breeders the pups where treated like dogs they ran, played, did silly things & enjoyed being a dog then when they go to there new home there wrapped in cotton wool, there identities taken away & they are no longer a dog but a cute toy that becomes needy. Our pups at 5 weeks run an acre, ther smaller than full grown chis, they use the doggy door, run, play, use there senses, they are raised in the house but have experienced the outside world & we stress to our puppy owners that what is cute now wont be in 12 months time if ruined. That is the most important common sense aspect you have the dog for 12/14tyrs the first 12 months can make or break your dog. Cute will always be there but pleasure is another thing. I have 3 that sleep on my bed & yes are spoilt BUT they are dogs and i never lose sight of that i wont my dogs to be something i can enjoy forever . All our dogs are crate trained as there show dogs All our dogs are groomed weekly as there coated. We never bribe which is commonly suggested ,they are placed in crate & we never hear a peep they just curl up & go to sleep, infact bring a crate in & itslike the running of the bulls to get in first. Our dogs when groomed just stand on the table from 6/8 weeks & we do what we have to. My big guys take over 2 hrs to prepare for the ring but groom time is fun, when i open the door to that room they either run for the table or the bath & wait . It isn't made special its just something that is done ,no fuss but the enjoyment is pleasing us or being with us This one of my guys -
Separation Issues - New Pups . Some Discussion...
Dogsfevr replied to persephone's topic in Puppy Chat
I think one of the biggest issues is to much info. When we first started selling our puppies people used common sense & all was great. In the last 10 yrs there is this new trend to google, buy all sorts of books & people have lost the common sense aspect & end up so confused they make training hard & when it goes pear shaped the slightest whinge/cry ia labelled "seperation Anxiety" -
http://www.sunburyvet.com.au/services.html But any vet clinic can order it if they say they can't there being lazy

I have feed Tuckertime rolls for over 25 years now & all my showdogs get it,i have tried the Ecopet when in Melbourne but prefer Tuckertime . Haven't tried Scottys. The problem is the price of Tuckertime over there ,when i fly i normally bring my own frozen although have had a vet in Sunbury get it in for me
