I agree there is protective & then there is protective. Why tell your cocker off for beinmg merry ?? Makes no sense to discipline it for something that comes natural to the breed

From what i have seen at shows wonderful dogs but you must be the right owner. I realize this comment applies to any dog but i do believe some breeds certainly require owners whose dedication to training, socializing & establishing good rules is more required in some breeds than others & what you allow one breed to get away with could be your sorst nightmare with another .

The backyard is usually the biggest issue. Check for toxic plants,no snail bait etc etc

Pet Insurance And Vaccinations

Some may not cover you if you do not vaccinate,Some may not cover titre . This is something you may need to query -
The cocker, english setter & yorkie will require dedicated coat work . The cocker & ES will need clipping, trimming, hand stripping & maintenance baths weekly especially the ES to keep it white . Both lovley dogs to show but maintaining show coats can be time consuming plus the added expense of clippers, blades, dryers ,scissors etc etc . Obviously smooth coats are simple wash & wear & off you go also applying to your backyard . So what it comes down to is how much coat work you are prpepared to do in between shows

 changes were happening long before her TV rant. Really? Do you have link? Yes & what about her lies ,the stand out was the article regarding the big winning Shar Pei . Changes are good but they where being done a long time before hand after all new testing for many issues have only appeared in the last few years . In 2 of the breeds im heavily involved with last year was the first time you could test for a certain health issue a massive step forward but we can only go as quick as the tests made available & with this test we have to send it overseas to get it done . Opportunities to use MRI 's & the likes have become a new tool to fight certain issues & it comes at great expense too . Not every state in Australia has many of the testing facilities available,i now i had to make the most of a trip east to get one of my dogs tested for an issue that affects the breed . There are many good breeders begging & pleading with certain services to be more available in some states & have testing days maybe 1 or twice a year with very limited spots certainly not enough to to test all & often funded by those people to fly testers over or pay the daily fee some charge. People shouldn't be bitching about the breeders one should look at the Veterinary world & ask why they expect so much from breeders yet don't offer the services to assist ,it cuts both ways

Long Term Dog Accommodation Options
Dogsfevr replied to Simply Grand's topic in General Dog Discussion
Many of our boarders are 3 months stays & 99% cope very well . A small few & select breeds tend to lose weight towards the end but if the kennel has been selected for comfort & plenty of outside access then the dog should do well . For 7 weeks i wouldn't be doing it for free though & if you do make sure you have vacc cards & permission to board if it becomes to much & pick a kennel she has visited & is comfy with. We get alot of dogs in boarding that people have started out house sitting & after a few weeks it just doesn't work out but many don't have the info required to kennel the dog/s -
no doubt another schnoodle breeder and people wonder why we sell all our pups on spay conditions (schnauzer)

Seriously take a chill pill & a good bitch has no issues in winning . Every year that years winners are special out with the old in with the new that is how it works . As someone who has done well in the point score section i don't find it an issue , Let me just say in one breed & a coated breed all three winners where bitches in a breed that is highly competitive with some amazing males .
