Soft crates can be very daunting for pups hard to see, often warm with little air flow All pups here sleep next to the bed until they have built confidence then as time goes they are moved to the chosen spot, some sleep outside in the kennels some in the house ,some on my bed & never had a pup object . Stick crate next to your bed & make the effort to take pup out to toilet if it cries. Generally our pups sleep through from 10 weeks because they are sound & content in there environment & there in a crate .

If breath smells & dog is fussy eater my first check would be tonsils, most vets under estimate checking them & tonsils can be an issue in dogs

Kid Thrown In At The Deep End @ The Royal
Dogsfevr replied to Eija's topic in General Dog Discussion
There are many juniors that get heavy dogs on the table & it isn't so much about muscles but actually being taught how to lift the dog correctly . If Mel;b royal is the show then there really is plenty of time to get a technique happening unless the dog is so unco operative . But you can ceratinly ask the steward whether you or someone can lift the dog there have certainly been runners used at Melb royal so there shouldn't be to much of a drama -
The original it is suppose to be an Americaon Cocker spaniel which in America is called the "Cocker Spaniel" Tramp was a mutt but i would say Irish Terrier/schnauzer origins. That clipped the dog is clearly a Cavie & tramp a hairy moodle looking thing

One should bend front & rear ine a mirror. No one wants to see your puppies either . If unsure then get man to sit in ring side style chsir let him have a squiz ,if this occurs you have an issue

So the puppy will also have to learn to use the stairs plus go to its toilet spot??

http://www.greggrantsaddlery.com.au/ProductDisplay.aspx?category=SX600307822 The picture is what i am referring to. You can use them all over in even strokes,do not rub like crazy in one spot or you will take all the coat out.Use evenly all over Use on the legs front/back to remove dead coat,on the feet, face, head. Scissors you can buy from clipper world ,1 sided thinners is all you need & something like Wahl around $70/80
-
Pants will look butchered with straight scissors, generally all you would do with the pants is brush.strip out ,if wanting to take some bulk out then you would use thinners but better to leave thepants natural. Feet scissor around the edges, thinners for hair between the pads or the easiest is get a slick & easy stone & strip the feet hair ,you can also use this on the legs to remove the dead coat & get the nice colour there .. As for the Malt if you scissoring the top coat with straight in can look well cut depending on the texture ,most groomers will use the clip on combs which leavea lovely look ,if the coat is very thick & able to be shaped then you can scissor after a brush & bath out but if very fine & sparse scissoring won't leave the best look. As there surgical scissors the length will be fine for feet but to short for extended trimming so you end up with many more cutting marks through the coat
-
Yes the breed would be helpful ,Alot depends on what your scissoring what result your after, the coat condition when trimming & above all how often you do it & yes the scissors being used (thinners, length ) Generally to leave a mark means the wrong scissors for the wrong job or using them the wrong way to get the job achieved

I find it easier to explain this way . The dog on Frasier (TV show) Parson ,in American there called Jack Russells, here the Jack Russell is what we now & the parson the taller leggier & slightly different head shape

Futon beds & then add on top. Depends how destructive they are & how clean they are . My guys are clean & non destructive but like comfort . I can use what ever but find the futon mattress to work very well with the comforts on top but i cando the foam option but find the dogs seem to not enjoy there comfort as much .

Dogsfevr replied to daccydog's topic in General Dog Discussion
Does he sleep on your bed or under the blankets. Most dachies dislike neatness they like to burrow & hide under things ,they do like being with there humans & usually sleep like velcro dogs next to you . I gather they are in sep crates ?? What happens if you put them in together ? -
He wasn't vaccinated recently??
-
Depends what has already been used by the breeder
-
Also use a mirror or reflective window for training ,you must see what the judges see or video

I never train free stacks as part of the walk exercise . Free stacks are taught whilst playing because the free stack is all about paying attention & reward . A good free stack is about attitude & carriage so i prefer to not make it part of show training or the same old same but make it part of games or another means that has there attention & attitude that isn't repetitive & boring .

I don't care what they post as long as its correct although a small handful are adding titles that i think came from the fairy farm I like any brags to be to the point, open show, champ show etc etc so atleast you now what type of show it was ,all wins are special & new people get excited no matter what something we all did when we started but i hate seeing old timers trying to fool judges in thinking there BISS or BIS was at a champ show when it was an open show In one breed (not one i have) there is a big brag about wins, records & the likes but many of those wins are open shows ,records for me are champ shows but each to there own there Being shortlisted at some shows is a major feat & an honor to be amongst those dogs ,being shortlisted often with a youngster is also great encouragement for its future . I imagine naff is like daft, stupid.silly Adding wins to the name like BISS/BIS etc etc is used worldwide & more so overseas & something people over there use more so than here & with greater pride ,It is a way of acknowledging a dog & its success
