I have seen plenty of young dogs no awarded often there ringcraft was so poor aswell that the whole package of being worthy of that CC just wasn't happening on the day .I see it more so in Mastiff breeds that are more popular in our state with novice exhibitors . Any breed, any age can be no awarded.

Can Puppies Be Refused Challenge?
Dogsfevr replied to Sexton Maremmas's topic in General Dog Discussion
A judge can certainly refuse based on ring craft manners. Puppies are puppies but at 11 months manners should be there & whether its a cool evening or not makes no difference. Judges have a small window to evaluate each dog & if in that small window they are unable to make a sound decision then yes they may refuse . If the dog was trying to get the bait then chances are the movement it showed wasn't very desirable at all as they generally throw there fronts around whilst looking that way . I am gathering the judge had already moved the dog & it didn't behave so are you saying she should have asked for it to move again or was it never moved except for entering the ring . -
We had a dog with bone cancer & whilst she was still in pain it was managable but from diagnosis to her time going was just under 3 months & the signs are very much there. Signs it was summer & she was cold & had to be coated if the air con was on BUT i think in your caes the signs will be more dramatic due to the location Rebanne same thoughts as you. Ours was a Grey we went for x rays & told them if its was the big C to PTS there & then unfortunately the staff didn't pass that message on & we went to pick up her up she was her happy self

Something I Noticed When I Was In The Usa
Dogsfevr replied to HugUrPup's topic in General Dog Discussion
Big dogs go in the hold & little dogs as well if not traveling with someone . But the difference is dog owners over there respect more things, dogs are crate trained as many places will only take them in crates & no one thinks twice ,here people have a hissy fit when crating is mentioned . Here people don't give a stuff about rules even many DOLERS think there entitled to have dogs offleash etc etc. -
responsible owners that understand dogs don't need to bark at night especially at these types of venues

Your steward is the person that gives the info Many judges don't say alot ,they acknowledge the steward who will say Aust male first/CC & BOB or just BOB & then you leave. There isn't alot of chat because it adds to time spent during the day Generally if they no award they call the steward over & say non award, some may explain why or they may say nothing , http://dogsnsw.org.au/activities-a-events/showing-your-dog.html?showall=1 This may help explain some things more

Don't bother it became a fad when all the fancy clinics opened up. Many charge & arm and a leg for it & make owners feel like there poor owners by not selecting it . One of the worst offending clinics in our area for all this stuff is part of a chain & they are done right rude when you say no. Used them once & the attitude from the staff was appalling because we said no . Plus all the other added etras they insist on having. We use to good old fashioned vets that you don't pay & arm & leg for ,you get all the bells & whistles if required & there more concerned about the dog than ensuring we are forced to say yes to pre testing I find these same style clinics hand out drugs like there lollies & over treat to the max

I gather they didn't get a puppy check when the pup arrived ?? But i would certainly be asking questioning what happened during the second vacc (providing they had it ) as to whay it wasn't picked up then. Generally some vets diagnose murmurs when there not there but to miss one this bad then i would be pissed

80kg Rottweilers - Is This Legit?
Dogsfevr replied to Simply Grand's topic in General Dog Discussion
As a comparison that is about 10/15 kg heavier than a Newfoundland & Neo Mastiff. I would certainly be questioning what sort of dogs they are actually producing -
Leaving Clam Shells With Water In Dog Runs
Dogsfevr replied to mantis's topic in General Dog Discussion
I wouldn't leave a clam shell to many have tip over & trapped dogs. We do leave the sandpit pools in the runs, they are more sturdy, can't flip -
From our experience of grooming dogs with bad ulcers i would say remove the eye. A number of the dogs we groom have had owners try & save the eye & after a year or more it had to beremoved & yep it is very painful.,In a number of cases the eye specialist recommended eye removal as the better option but not everyone can deal with a one eyed dog We could see the dogs where not happy & once the eye was removed the dogs went back there happy old ways. Ulcers are very painful & at its age i would vote for comfort

Just because you now more shouldn't mean your entitled to both or automatically make a better owner. It may simply mean you took it upon yourself to do more around the house because of your experience but it doesn't mean the other person will be a bad owner straight away . If you discussed this topic & he said he would like one at the time then you need to respect that after all what was the point of bringing up the topic?? It maybe a case of doing a trial & seeing how each party deals with it or the OH may decide that with him working it may not work as well but just because he works shouldn't mean he can't have It likes saying if your not working you can't afford them . You both need to discuss the pros & cons . He has contributed just as much & just because there chipped in your name doesn't mean your entitled ,did he refuse his name being on the chip or was he not given the option?

I Feel Like An Idiot Calling My Vet Every Week...:-(
Dogsfevr replied to Niki8's topic in General Dog Discussion
Have you phoned the breeder to ask for advice on the issues ??If they area good breeder they will answer your questions or atleast assist in the things that aren't going right It is great to see the vet but you can become paranoid & see things that aren't there & that will take away the joy of owning a pup -

Our bitches will spend hrs out at that age put will pop in/out for a quick top up. Infact we love the bitches that aren't obsessed BUT you must make sure there are no issues like mentioned. We have some girls that are velcro mothers & drive you nuts but most of ours are very chilled & still want to play & be part of the normal routine,The box is in the kitchen so they see & interact as normal with TV on etc etc & just get let to the other side when they ask. Are the pups restless?? Are they very fat ??

The packages to advertise are very cheap in the scheme of things. Yes many do it in the hopes to win more ,many others do it because its one of the options to get your kennel name out there world wide as the mags area world wide thing. But as already mentioned chossing the right picture & then putting together a out there but simple ad seems a bigger issue. So many have all the fancy crap, way to much wording & photo's that aren't the best I have taken ads out & also been lucky to win half/full pages as dogshow prizes .

Also remember that has been her routine for 2 yrs & now its not Often laundrys are very hot & airless & boring . If you want to change spots then you need to be patient & not go & yell . You need to be prepared to put up with some noise until she settles BUT you need to make sure the area is comfy in this heat . Have you sat in that room at night the way the dog does?? When she was in the family room did she go to bed whilst you where still up or do you put her in last minute ?? My guys will sleep any where in there crates providing the room is either cool enough or warm enough otherwise the have the choice to move about to suit there needs at that time

Western Australia uses the State class regularly. They normally have State,Aust & Open except at B&A shows(charity/fundraiser show) its just State & open & our Royal is just State & open

You can train both but i always preferred to teach a sound stand . Puppy School may teach him many manners you don't want in the ring but a good trainer should be happy with you wanting a stand but just take into consideration that pup needs to learn that dogs aren't for playing with all the time If you havea table or raised area i would practise standing on there until pup is to big that way its neutrel ground to both & you can gently stack
