Class Winning/placings And Ribbons
Dogsfevr replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in General Dog Discussion
I agree you always get something said that acknowledges you have won/placed or something . The steward is the person in charge of the charts As for ribbons we have a bucket here ,most clubs rarely hand them out like they use to as they cost to much & if people really want them they will ask plus when going back in the ring you end up with ribbons & no where to put them or in pockets that are being used for other things -
We have swapped some dogs to Earthborn Coastal catch & it has worked wonders . We didn't have issues as such but we prefer feeding a fish based food & after others brands keep changing there make up we swapped to this & its great & the dogs love it

Most of these photos are very average ,the Irish looks awful in its photo compared to what it does in the ring . These aren't true to stacked photos & many look like there slipping on the flooring

Does this person work night shift or do they not here there dogs bark if the others can't sleep?? Poms themselves are very vocal & i can imagine why they have complained there yappy bark does your head in after awhile. Not sure about a citronella collar on such small dogs . Given she doesn't want them inside i would leave it to her she needs to be prepared to compromise too but chances are these dogs aren't toilet trained . You can tell her the obvious inside, more attention/mental games. I would stress she is very lucky the neighbours have approached her first off & not gone to the council but she needs to do the hard work & seek help or change some living options before they do head to the council

How Soon Would You Start To Supplement Feeding
Dogsfevr replied to mini girl's topic in Breeders Community
We bottle feed from day 1 if we feel its required we don't use eye droppers .We bottle feed to top up from mum & often just for a few days our last litter we did for 3 days with 3 smaller ones We also never use calcium syrup but each to there own there -
I look at socializing differently & that is not approaching & playing with every dog they see & this isn't because there show dogs but because when i go for walks or sitting at the vets or similar i don't want my dogs to think its there right to play. My dogs are allowed to play on my terms & when appropriate . I have big boisterous dogs, they play rough, there intimidating if allowed & when older there nearly 40 kg . At 15 weeks your dog is small & manageable what you have now is very easy but consider the behaviour now at 4okg . Playing doesn't mean it will be socialized any better . My big dogs are taught the word gentle, they are taught to lay down for little dogs ,i still appreciate there big dogs & as such will play with the power of a big dog but i can minimize the risk onlead & educate for manners & if they get to excited i can simply walk away & they don't care game over They play at shows & have fun when all parties are happy for play time but when they aren't playing they are sitting calmly in the pens . Don't think the chain will create issues used correctly it will work well & it will be shown on a chain without any dramas but consider the obvious at present what your doing isn't working ,Flat collars don't work for every dog & being open minded as a dog owner is a must ,i would sooner use a tool that will work for said dog than have a dog that is no pleasure to walk & will get harder . Avoiding dogs wont train your pup but allowing it to play because it pulls is just rewarding bad behaviour ,mine don't get to play under those circumstances &there is nothing worse than seeing the owner getting dragged by there dog wanting to play i avoid them like the plague because they display no control or manners.

Some of our best puppy owners are rejected rescue lookers & the reasons given where just laughable & makes you wonder whether some rescues with the rehome or not. Some of the forms require alot of info so the people sit there & do them & then get no feed back back. We also groom alot of dogs from pet shops owned by people who wanted to rescue but gave up again because there weren't good enough, didn't earn enough money worked to many hrs (but work from home ) Didn't have another dog yadda yadda all this info was placed on the forms & rejected ,not one ever bothered to meet & greet people . One couple who are wonderful owners both work from home ,the dogs have a big property to enjoy get walked every day ,best vet care ,part of the family where rejected because yep they both work . BUt the laughable part was there income wasn't enough so with this rescue if you work your not good enough,if you don't earn money your not good enough & you can't even go in and see the dogs unless you pass the form test . We are seeing a big increase of people who would prefer to rescue buying pet shop puppies because they where feed up with the run around or never hearing back or just been made to feel like useless owners without a human meeting them . Yes some dogs require special homes but surely not everyone .some of these dogs get shoved from carer to carer or sit in kennels for months waiting for the right home when surely a bit more human aspect & a little less form judgement would go along way

He is 15 weeks, rome wasn't built in a day but you need to work harder & be smarter each day, your pup is small now. PPS are becoming such a waste of money fad,so many bad trainers who now buggar all. Your pup is normal & if the trainer can't deal with that then i wouldn't be having private lessons from them .Are you paying more for private lessons??What have they suggested about pulling ?? Join an obedience club . When you walk what treats do you take?? What toys do you use?? I now alot of people do the bowl feed & it works wonders but for our guys they work better when that treat comes out for special occasions, meals are meals, training is training & the treats are very exciting or there fav is used . Have you discussed what the trainer has said to your breeder ?? Some of the Ridgie breeders trial or did trial & maybe your breeder is one of those who can give you advice or maybe a club name that they find is great with Ridgies .

all my showdogs are walked on chocker style leads & shown on very light weight chocker style too.(not chain fabric) I hate harness especially for training puppies, you train them to do what you want & this will apply in the ring aswell. Your pup needs to learn that other dogs doesn't mean play time often worse if dogs have attended puppy pre school because there taught to play from day 1 without ever learning the on/off switch (not sure if you did PPS) If pup isn't paying attention thats because your boring ,you need to be more fun than the other dogs .You will notice at dog shows & training classes that most dogs interact calmlt & with respect & get to play when the time is right & focus when it isn't. This will benefit you in the ring a dog focused on the handler & pleasing is a joy to show I also hate harness that aren't designed for said dog as it sits right behind elbows & pulls them out plus teaches many .

The simple answer is you have to deal with it. We had a girl with PRA & we had to be her confidence,if i was to wuss her & pander her she would have lost any independence she had . Though we started early on adapting her to the changes as you do have time with PRA,we had runners that she walked on to her water bowl, the door etc etc. She had her mud map .she still walked around the acre ,play times where adapted to what she could cope with & succeed at . This was a 5 yr old in the prime of her life .She was given her wings 4 yrs later as her hearing & smell went & she could no longer cope Don't dwell on the shortness & savor each day otherwise you won't enjoy the time you have

Have either dog been used at stud already ?? I guess the issue you have in small breed is weighing up the evils in health but then if 3 you now of have had it then yes we would have to consider the risks & then weigh up what these dogs have over other males & why the risk is worth it in what i gather is a small breeding option
