Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Grooming Requirement

We hand strip cavies coats with stripping tools ,it doesn't shorten the coat at all (unless you are breaking it) Schnauzers we strip back to skin (bald) & then maybe with a good coat roll it ) Cavies shed all the time so many tools can be used to strip out the dead coat & keep the stunning top coat & colour ,you don't shorten it you remove the dead coat -

Why Are Shows Doing Best In Group 1, 2, 3, 4
Dogsfevr replied to teddywaddy's topic in General Dog Discussion
I don't mind at set shows. I have flown over for the Bulla shows with competitive adults & placed due to this system other wise would have missed out. I also like winning class in groups . I would support a show if it had 1/4 & will be attending a number of shows east that do have this system & find it worth the expense i pay to fly the dogs ,grp 3/4 is still a good win & even those youngsters could get this spot & do -

Bathing doesn't have to be weekly but a clean coat is easier to brush. They shed alot BUT this can be minimized by using the correct tools & working on the coat . Most pet owners have the slippers on there feet trimmed tight but others like it. I hand strip alot of my dogs when being bathed as it removes more coat ,i generally use a slick n easy at bath time you can also use a flea or nit comb for the cheaper scale -

Chances are very slim . You would need to work on the coat weekly to give it any chance & that must be done no matter what. If you don't wish to put the time in & buy the tools then it won't have a chance of happening BUT a good groomer should have explained this too you at first & then gave you the option to clip or hand strip. You can tell by the coat whether its doable also.

outcrossing also produces issues just like crossing mutts

Surely she has a friend that can go with her for the drive. We will go out of our withinn reason but pups owners need to play a role as well & yes we would ask for petrol money because any other pet owner would drive

We board alot of Jack Russell's & find the ones from good breeders to be very laid back & easy to live with .Even at Dog shows they are more sensible than many other breeds so i wouldn't rule them out . After that you are limited . Although if a bit of coat work is doable you have the Border Terrier ,Cairns i think are awesome family dogs.

The fact you think your dog is being a jerk is very sad especially a 4 month old pup You have a very simple solution yet you wish to discipline the dog to make yourself feel better & prove your ideals will work. They may do down the track but at present it isn't working & you are setting up a big failure with wanting to do it your way & it will be the animals that suffer . Give the pup a break feed it separate & if you want a happy group that can eat & share train all the animals but this can take time . Your pup hasn't been taught that sharing is fine but its been taught that a cat can do what it wants & when it does something natural it gets its food taken away & most likely your body language displaying a frustration at the pup. Our dogs are also feed separate because we can monitor each dog & they can eat in a calm fashion . You can pay mega bucks for professional help but fairly certain all will say the obvious feed else where . Your cat is being rude, your pup is obviously getting fed up with it & your not addressing the signs except presuming its a jerk. Your pup is being very patient & its seems you don't appreciate it but unless you open your eyes to what is happening this could end badly & it wont be the dogs fault.

Things To Consider When Choosing A Second Dog?
Dogsfevr replied to kima's topic in General Dog Discussion
The OP has said they are looking at 2/3 yrs before getting another dog so the 10 months is irrelevant . The dog will be mature & no doubt they will have a better idea of what will suit then or not suit as it does mature -
Just use an agent ,not worth the hassle of stuffing around & vets in Canada will be easy unless they live out in the sticks . Pick which station you want although i would go Vic,NSW then WA

You wish to build & own?? I own boarding kennels & as much as i love my career i would never do it again. One of the most thankless jobs around . We have wonderful clients though with a few bad apples occasionally . You have no real life & its your life 24/7 365 days of the year & your always forkig out money

I never use the guides . I feed by the look of each dog & what they look like,if a tad fat reduce if a tad skinny increase & then take into account any add on foods -
