Some Junior Handling Rule Clarifications/questions
Dogsfevr replied to Edpra's topic in General Dog Discussion
Not sure how it works in Vic but normally you have paperwork to fill out for the State finals . The paperwork asks What breed Dogs name Whether it can be used as a swap dog Signed by the owner that they agree to what ever the paperwork says. The breed must be nominated to go into the catalogue & so the organizers can see what size range they have when looking for potential swap dogs The dogs Vic site says 3 heats with the same breed but i would email the coordinator -
Vaccinated dogs can still get parvo but avoiding high risks areas whilst the pup is home is advisable but keep in mind you can bring it home on your shoes. Common sense should be used We do not recommend puppy pres schools to our puppy owners not due to the risk but due to numpty staff running them & causing bigger issues in puppy behaviours & we see alot of bad manners in dogs we board that have been to puppy preschool.

Take her to a good groomer.if the matts aren't bad chances are they can brush them out . If it requires clipping you can leave the coat longer when the matts aren't bad. If you wait till December it isn't fair on the dog at all unless you are going to brush the matts out. Matts hurt & depending on where they are pull when they walk & cause the dog all sorts of unnecessary pain.A shorter coat is better than matts & it will grow back quickly . As for coats don't use one unless you are prepared to brush the dog already this week as a groomer we are dealing with matted messes from owners putting coats on & not brushing & putting coats on that are jumper style & matt the coat awfully .As a groomer we dread this time of year

Urgent Help Needed Regarding Stressed Cavalier!
Dogsfevr replied to cavvysavvy's topic in General Dog Discussion
In those 2 yrs what was the dogs life like. Where the dogs encouraged to remain independent or where they relaint on your company for that time . When you planned to go back to work did you try readapting there routine or just go to work. Has there day time changed dramatically since working ?? 4 days is pretty much full time ,When you get home what time do they get ?? or have they been some what forgotten with child & working -
Most dogs don't need a coat ,it makes the humans feel better but with coated breeds please pick a good coat . The knitted jumpers are itchy & often over heat dogs & cause the worst knotting. As a groomer we are coming into our nightmare season of matted dogs who wear coats & made worse by fabrics that really aren't suitable or cover the bellies . The jumper types often are to tight around the arm pits & pull ,look at the coat from a vert practical point of view & comfort but in all honesty unless your pup has been clipped short they don't need them & some hate them no matter how you try .

All are special in every way .If every dog i owned was the exact same life wouldn't be very fun ,Each one brings something new to each day that covers the many moods or feelings one might have so each one has there special tool of trade to make each day "fun" My dogs love me unconditionally its seems only natural to offer them the same respect

You need to re register him . The Staff at SACA will easily help you .

$10 is cheap. When i was Treasurer with a club we had a set fee that was more. The club gets charged & then there hassle of chasing people up as often those with rubber chqs didn't turn up to shows so you had to chase them early to actually get your money . Some clubs have a list of serial offenders where we refused to even accept there chqs

Risks Of Leaving Dog Coat On All Day?
Dogsfevr replied to MadWoofter's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have witnessed a dog with a coat left on that ended up with a serious leg injury due to it wrapping around so tight. We use coats but don't leave them unattended with them. Also the issue that once warm dogs get hot especially if the day becomes pleasant. -
I would say its part of the new puppy listings issues with puppy farmers . There was a topic about some time ago trying to address breeders who utilize this service for many litters but aren't active in anyway in a dog sports aspect

Rehome both until you stop comparing them to Harvey they will never meet your expectations. New dogs come with a new beginning,if you can't accept them for what they are then they will never be happy . Contact the breeders & seek there help in rehoming & yep do it sooner than later because whilst you decide the dogs won't be your first priority & they will now there not wanted by everyone's interactions

I think one of the issues is people who don't do the right thing on public ovals & pick there dog poo up. There is no excuse for there behaviour but i as a kid when playing sports remember club members/parents having to do a poo check before we played . We have a dog offleash oval behind us & it is now a sports oval too with training & games ,I haven't heard of any issues as yet but reality is it isn't going to work but luckily this oval is very much unknown so people use it during the day but i have no doubts many don't pick up because these same people have allowed there dogs to crap on residents front lawns & not done the right thing . There behaviour was not acceptable ut maybe keep in mind that un like yourself who may be an excellent owner who does the right thing many more don't & sadly ruin it for others .

All our showdogs are crate trained & love there crates but we never train via many methods "suggested " these days in books. We have never bribed our dogs to sleep in them, they go in door shut & all is fine. There is no fuss or performance made about it . The greater majority of pups from breeders have been in a crate at 6 weeks, whether it be a vet visit or something else. Our pups at 6 weeks on travel in crates & spend time in a puppy pen so its more normal than people think so if you do wish to head down this path chances are the pup has already experienced it. Ask your breeder a good breeder is worth there weight in gold

Did your breeder not suggest products in there puppy packs??

There are a number of Guiremere dogs in this state competing at top level but there owner /handlers are people that OsoSwift is talking about . Good handlers who match the dogs well. There are also many show breed dogs competing in this state at the same top level .

The live stream wasnt great last night either I watched Terrier judging

Does she lick often before fits if not leash grabbing. For me the leash grabbing & licking could be ways for her to alert to a fit or she trying to soothe the panic of what is about to happen

Advice On Owning A Big Dog And A Little Dog
Dogsfevr replied to LillyFlower's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have big & small but you need to teach the little dog just as much as the big . Big dogs play like big dogs some little dogs are stirrers & can be the trouble maker . My big dogs are taught to lay down to play BUT they are also allowed to have big dog play because i won't take away what is natural to them especially when there pups. I guess the biggest concern witha Frenchie & chosing the right playmate is the summer months & it not going over the top in the heat . It can be done but matching the personalities is a must ,Frenchies can be full on so its depends whether you want something that matches well or in the Goldies case will require more exercise as a pup & want to walk longer distances than say the Frenchie will. It depends i guess on work whether you want big & small, keep in the mind the Goldie will shed alot more coat than the Frenchie . -
So does the dog fit more on walks & often before fitting grabs the lead ?? or does the dog fit at home or any other scenario as well??

Its from a Perth breeder & they are all sold with main papers

The mars coat kings we rarely use on the Minis & it would have to have an amazing coat to start with for the coat king to be any good.Very few show people use them The coat kings are fine for the Stds & giants as there coat texture naturally are way harsher but Minis not so much but this is for pets only again If you wish to maintain the harsh coat you really need to hand strip it correctly the first time & then try & roll the coat . The coat King will not keep the coat harsh & do all the work you will still need to use other tools especially for the head . Once you have a good coat you can use a slick n Easy to pluck the dead coat out & other tools plus the obvious part of clipping throat ,bum, belly & ears unless you plan to strip the ears as well (not many do The sizes you have listed wouldn't be suitable ,you would need the higher numbers i think its 24 (without looking at ours)
